I broke even with extended warranty then vehicle I have now the warranty was 5yr/100k. They said I was wrong about warranty then they sold me a warranty that wasn’t as good as the manufacturers warranty I.e. useless. I went home and checked then called the dealer they said sorry but said they needed to get the money back from the warranty company. I screamed at them they cut me a check.

I called them considering a extended warranty since the warranty was still existing and asked if I could get one with vehicle still in warranty. They asked for my name I said no just answer the question!

They forwarded my phone number to a warranty company. I didn’t answer then I called them 2x and sweared and f-bombed them.

Do you have a shop? And are you located in New York? You have someone to contact you?

  5. Robert Stack on February 27, 2021 at 11:38 pm

If you need to file a claim after a breakdown, the only way to do it is to answer one of their ROBO calls trying to sell you what you already have….worthless

I bought my tacoma a month ago. They tried to sell me paint warranties to power train warranties. I turned them all down. But then they have a lifetime warranty that you cannot opt out of. Rocky mount Toyota would not allow me to opt out of it. And as far as I know. They’ve done that to a lot of other people
The truck was hard to find in the configuration they had. So they make me bring it in for inspection after 7 years or it voids my warranty. And also I think I have to bring it to them for oil changes.

hahaha I like the energy put into explaining the whole video- quite humorous. it’s a scam.    😂

  8. jeffs1000 on February 27, 2021 at 11:40 pm

just self insure with an emergency fund. Put the premiums that you would of payed, into your own savings account, that way you will still have your own money if you never have a claim.

  9. likeaZ6 on February 27, 2021 at 11:43 pm

There is literally only one time in my 10 years as a independent service manager that a customer with an aftermarket extended warranty actually saved money, and it was literally only $1000.

It was a late model BMW 3 series, and we had to replace the electric plastic fantastic water pump they had on it. Just the part alone was $900, and the only reason the $3100 extended warranty saved them money was because we had to do the job 2 (!!!) times under warranty. The pumps literally could not last more than a year (which is our shops guarantee), and these were made in Germany Bosch electric pumps. Truly garbage engineering.

The biggest kicker? I only took this particular customer in twice because he’s a distant cousin through marriage.

I have purchased extended warranty for every car I have purchased every one of them paid off and saved me thousands of dollars! Buying them from the dealership is a a downside they expire before the car is paid for and you keep paying for them! But I’ll keep buying them!

Please listen to this man when near the end if this video, he advises you to just Save some money, knowing repairs will always come up.
Years ago l bought an extended warranty. Don’t remember the exact cost but it was never used and if l had just saved what the warranty cost, l would have broken even at worst.
Amazing how people who purchase a new car are talked into buying one, when their car is covered for what, 4 years or 40,000 miles, anyway?
    Save your money!

Also, when buying a NEW car, why the salesman pushes an extended warranty when you’re already covered under the new car one?

  25. Flag Unit on February 28, 2021 at 12:11 am

Well. I bought the best extended warranty I could get from the dealer… good thing I bought one of the “wrong” type of cars 😬

  26. funny hunny on February 28, 2021 at 12:11 am

  30. MegaEdsan on February 28, 2021 at 12:15 am

    Hi Scotty
I purchased a Honda Accord LX 2015 at 98k miles. Should I return the service contract that I got with it? I was worried that some expenses might accompany the car with such high miles.
    Please help. Thanks.

I’m in the process of buying a used truck but the dealer says he doesn’t give any warranty at all though he said they have GWC my question is will i be making a good deal?

  34. gomer goober on February 28, 2021 at 12:18 am

MSRP is a rip-off and always TWICE what the dealership pays, the ‘STEALER" will lie and do anythging for you to pay them the $20,000 commission on nearly every car , pay invoice or just buy private party

  35. Keysta Stanciel on February 28, 2021 at 12:19 am

So Car Shield wouldn’t be worth it.

  36. coolpix222 on February 28, 2021 at 12:19 am

I have a horror story about an extended warranty thru Ford. Had no clue it was 3rd party even tho I bought the car brand new from the dealer. When I had a problem with my trans mission was a total nightmar. Complete JOKE!

A Toyota repair dealership told me I needed a new cooling fan for my hybrid battery. I replied I don’t have a hybrid. He said yes you do. Later he came back and said there was something wrong with the switch that anylized the car?.

The scam is you are forced to buy repairs that you may or may not for twice the price.

Check this out: Bought a 99 4Runner brand new back in the day. I had my own financing lined up, but the dealer desperately wanted to get me a loan, so I told them my rate was .5% lower than it was. After a while they beat the rate by another .5%. So far, I’m 1% better on my rate. Now they pushed the extended warranty. I’d bought an extended warranty from Toyota on my 90 Camry because I drove 30k miles/yr. Well, the salesman showed me two totals: the total with and without warranty. The warranty total was LOWER than without! I asked, "Are you sure?" He assured me, so I took the with warranty total! So now I have a 1% lower rate AND a free extended warranty. But wait folks, that’s not all! 18 months later, the 4Runner was hit and totaled. I was talking to the salesman again and he told me that since the extended warranty was never used I could get a refund! I got a refund on the warranty I never paid for in the first place! You don’t get one over on them very often, but I have to enjoy it when I do! 😛 Thanks Scotty!
