Which Computer is Best For Writers, Mac or PC?

#Writers #Computers #amwriting
I get asked this all the time from writers and so here is a video with my experience and opinions on this.

Here are links to things mentioned in the video

The most important thing is just to get writing.

It is exact my point, regardless which computer you use, your tool is Word. I tried using pure Mac writer tools and soon I got stuck since Word doesn’t understand their format.

Hi Stephanie , thanks for your sharing . I have used the PC which gave me a lot of joy checking out apps.
I have used PC, Linux Ubuntu and now the Mac for over seven years. I do not have Mac Office so I use Open Office from Sun. Most times I use Mac’s preview and convert my work to .pdf I love what you said about both PC and Mac must have adequate memory Antivirus etc .I just would like to add two things . Computers should have Juzt reboot software to protect
from others using the computer and accidentally system files
which Juzt reboot can retrieve after a restart of the PC
Mac does not have it in the Store
The second thing is the keyboard shortcuts. We need to learn some of them. My Mac magic mouse uses a lot of battery even though it shuts off together when the Mac shuts down. The Mouse has three options that I check marked
so I unchecked them and now I have learned to use shortcuts to delete trash etc .Finally the Terminal is worth learning as it is a problem solving app A friend got into it show me a few things so fast moving input output

I am torn as well only because I like both writing and pc gaming. Emulated old mmo’s are a long time hobby. I have never really used macs except for an old iPad and iPhones. Pc’s I have used included a custom built system that lasted 10 yrs hard drive died I was so sad :(. An Acer nitro 5 laptop motherboard overheated 🥵 and the computer was never the same after it got repaired so asked for my money back. 95 degrees Celsius way too hot. A Lenovo yoga so many dead pixels sent it back. And HP x360 which has been fairly good but does feel kinda warm after long use. Today I was tempted to buy another computer as I want to get writing again but i don’t want to go through the same hassles of unreliable laptops that one are not right on purchase or die from overheating after a few weeks.

So long story short I am yet to buy another computer or laptop and still on the search. I have done much research and nearly bought a Mac with the new m1 chipset but kinda now just considering my options.

I also think the Microsoft laptops look fairly good albeit the aspect ratio of the display is the same as a Mac 3:2 so black bars when viewing YouTube videos.

Plus Mac track pads feel odd after so long using a pc. One button I guess I am not used to it. 🙁

One thing I do know is I just want to write but on what device. I trust pencil or pen and paper way more too afraid of loosing my work. 🙁
