I am a gamer and a streamer. Power goes off twice or thrice a week for max 10 minutes in my location. I want that 5 to 10 mins backup while gaming + streaming.

My PSU is Gigabyte PB 500 and GPU is AMD RX 580 and a single 24inch 75hz monitor

Shall I buy Cyberpower 1500VA, will that fulfill my work

  2. Kemaro on May 1, 2022 at 7:18 pm

Thanks so much for this. I will watch the whole video but how loud are they

I’m gonna start with the only negative I got. GET A LAV for your audio, or do a reverse lip-sync or something, the eco is fucking brutal. I´ve had to pause it Multiple times cuz of the eco….. Bright side, you were thorough, and you briefly showed a sibling of the ups I’m shopping for.
    PLEASE get a lav…………. PLEASE

  4. RemyLordSki on May 1, 2022 at 7:20 pm

hey so i just order a very beefy pc from origin that has a 1250 psu which batter pack would you recommend

  5. DJAYPAZ on May 1, 2022 at 7:22 pm

The 1500AVRLCD cannot be used if the mains power is not present (?) So in the event of a mains power failure the UPS cannot be used to run you computer because it cannot be turned on

  6. Martin Rapavý on May 1, 2022 at 7:25 pm

Taken all in all, I still think that the usual consumer UPS units are way too much overpriced toys. Do you really think that you need all the monitoring software… for what feels like a luxury car built around a bicycle engine. It costs tens to hundreds of €€, you are not even supposed to use power strips and all they offer you is like a ten-minute graceful delay before it runs out, too. They are not really uninterruptible power supplies, they are actually delay-interruptible power supplies. It is best to get a decent inverter with pure sine wave outlets and a powerful absorbent-glass-mat battery and you can forget all the monitoring software nonsense, USB charging ports and whatnot, and it could power your computer all they long, or even your washing machine.

which catch fire and which dont, which will cut power from random errors, which will make annoying buzzing sound with time, and which actually make a true useable sinewave?? lol

Thanks for editing description and responding to earlier comments about how, when and why Pure Sine Wave (instead of simulated Sine Wave) based UPS should be used.

  13. dkienitz on May 1, 2022 at 7:32 pm

I’m looking into a UPS because I have a NAS. You mentioned software to can used to shutdown equipment. Do you have more videos on how to set something like that up? Can you program to start the shutdown once the battery drops below a certain threshold? Do any of these UPS have the ability to email or have a outage to notify an event while your away?

  14. Noah Neutral on May 1, 2022 at 7:33 pm

Would you recommend getting one big UPS for two computers or two separate ones for each computer?

  15. H76 Pro on May 1, 2022 at 7:33 pm

Should the UPS watts match my PCs PSU watts?? This is what is confusing me.

  17. LivingL393nd on May 1, 2022 at 7:36 pm

Can someone confirm if the CP1500PFCLCD 1000 watts UPS works with the PS5 and is safe for the console and other consoles in general? I’m using it for my rig but want to make sure it won’t harm a gaming console especially the PS5 given how hard it is to get one

Would it matter if I replace my lead acid batteries that come with the system with the new lithium po4

  19. Dave Boyd on May 1, 2022 at 7:40 pm

I am running three Boxx Render machines with 1600w power each. I am not looking for hours or even minutes of run time in an outage, but just to survive a surge or a 30 second outage. Please tell me I don’t need a $1200 2000w back-up for EACH (support advised this). Couldn’t I plug all three into a $200 900W back-up unit and survive a power outage? I can always restart the render, i just want to protect my equipment from a surge mostly. What’s a sensible, affordable option?

  20. Samuel Guillen on May 1, 2022 at 7:41 pm

Does your electricity bill go up using these UPSs ? I guess so, since they have to be charged to 100% but I’m not totally sure.

  21. Ebi Wariebi on May 1, 2022 at 7:41 pm

Hi, i play videos games on a lenovo legion 5i and i’m currently in a location that does not have 24hrs power supply. i’m interested in getting a power backup for my laptop and a few peripherals for an hour so i don’t lose performance. what would you recommend?

  23. Aadesh Kapadne on May 1, 2022 at 7:43 pm

I need a UPS which would provide my computer a healthy pure-sine wave.
What terms do I have to look for when buying me a UPS ?
Do all UPSs provide pure-sine wave or is it only the case for line interactive UPS ?
What are double- conversion UPS ?
Please help me out, I’d really appreciate it

  28. Kd on May 1, 2022 at 7:48 pm

Tip: All equipment guarantees are totally bogus and you will never see a dime in any warranty for connected equipment from either Cyberpower or any other manufacturer. They are for marketing purposes only.

  29. Robert on May 1, 2022 at 7:48 pm

If power outage time exceeds battery capacity and unit shuts down and power comes back on some time later, the unit does not power back on automatically right?

  30. murkey on May 1, 2022 at 7:49 pm

great video… i ordered the 1500VA/1000W model, it looks like it was first introduced on Amazon in 2010. i am surprised theres nothing more new ?? Also the 1500VA/900W model was introduced in 2003, that’s crazy there’s nothing more new that doesn’t cost $1K+? Guess not big enough of a market?

What would you recommend for a 65inch TV with bose 700 sound system?

  34. Radu Petru Petica on May 1, 2022 at 7:52 pm

Hi and thank you very much for the video! I have really big problems with electric power where I live, it’s going off and on for a few seconds and this happens about 3-4 times each day. So I’ve just ordered a Cyberpower CP1500EPFCLCD and can’t wait to use it. Thanks again for this great video! I’ve never used a UPS before and I like how you have explained here about them😀

  35. DigiDC on May 1, 2022 at 7:53 pm

@Techspin if my PSU is 1000 watts, but my PC build’s parts only totals around 550-600 watts usage. Would I need 1000 Watts UPS or 600 Watts UPS?
For those wondering why I bought a 1000 Watts PSU, I got for the same price as a 650 Watt version.

  36. onofrio piccolino on May 1, 2022 at 7:55 pm

I just bought the CyberPower model LX1500GU. It is 1500VA with 900w, I bought it from Best Buy. It is 2021 Best Buy has a habit of selling discontinued items

  37. Moisés Silva on May 1, 2022 at 7:57 pm

The cp1500 can fix eletricity issues aswell even when theres is no blackout? Like, Voltage irregularities and other eletrical problems?

  38. Terez Harris on May 1, 2022 at 7:57 pm

Really great video!!! Massively informative and you both quite comprehensively covered all the situations and demographics that may eventually require this information. Honestly great job guys👍🏾

    Quick question though…..

What is your opinion on the "Double Conversion UPS System"???

**It’s essentially a backup generator(I’ll be getting a 200W+ Solar-Powered Solar Generator To Be Specific) with a line interactive pure sine wave UPSfor seamless crossover transition of power responsibility from UPS to the backup generator after initial point of power(UPS) completely discharges itself internal battery capacity after detaching from ground from utility.**

  39. Carol Pack on May 1, 2022 at 7:59 pm

    Thanks!

  40. LukeyPlayz on May 1, 2022 at 7:59 pm

Hi, I was looking to set up and off grid system with a generator and I was looking to connect a ups to be able to run sensitive equipment like a projector and a laptop, my plan was to connect the UPs directly to the generator, then from the ups to an rcd and circuit breaker to run a couple of light bulbs, a laptop, a fan, a speaker and a projector, running around 750W in total , however after watching your video I am doubtful that this will work, will this damage the ups (even if it is rated for 1350W)? in this case should I run a regular Voltage regulator instead of a ups, please?

  41. Kd on May 1, 2022 at 8:02 pm

A UPS will NOT protect you from a lightning strike nor will any surge protector, unplugging everything from the wall is the only protection you are going to have. While a UPS can keep your network up and running, as for internet connectivity, if your ISP’s node in your neighborhood loses power, chances are it won’t have a backup power source and will go offline, meaning you won’t have any internet regardless if your modem and router remain operational.

  42. SimmanGodz on May 1, 2022 at 8:03 pm

It have the 1500 and its kicked in during outages 3 times in the last 2 years, flawlessly every time. It also kicks on when the power isn’t stable and keeps my stuff working.

excuse me,i’m not going to use my pc 24hrs..i run my pc mostly from 8am to 12pm at night..so do i need to just turn off everything from the wall socket or just shut down my pc? thanks in advance..

  44. Meadmaker 452 on May 1, 2022 at 8:04 pm

I’ve been cross-shopping UPS brands. The Cyberpower units seem to have good marks on Amazon (4.6-ish out of 5), but there are a significant number of reviews talking about these units giving off a noxious burned smell, actually starting to smoke and then catching on fire. So, all of the review info aside, if the thing catches fire and burns your house down while you’re out at a movie or something, it’s not really a good selling point. Unfortunately, I’ve seen the same sort of reviews for other UPS brands as well. Makes it hard to decide what to get when nothing seems reliable enough to seriously consider purchasing. Spending $200 and having the unit fail is annoying. Spending $200 and having the unit destroy your home and everything in it is a disaster.

Still looking for a reliable UPS that’ll do the job without failing or spontaneously combusting.

  50. David M on May 1, 2022 at 8:14 pm

I’m a home user running 2 4 bay NAS ( one QNAP and a Synology ) that I want to protect. I’m still trying to figure out what the "Intelligent" model Cyberpower UPS’s offer and would the average home user need one.

Certainly one of the best videos on this subject and this brand. Many thanks.
