BACKMARKET IS A SCAM. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Tl;dr They sent me a defective iphone 8 and refused to
repair, replace, or refund it. They wrongly accused me of doing something that
would void the warranty, leaving me up a creek.

I was hesitant to buy a refurbished device, but wanted to
reduce my impact on the environment and saw that with Backmarket, I would be
covered for a year against defects and malfunctions. Seemed like a good enough
deal for me– I figured any serious defects would appear within the first year,
and I hoped I would be able to get a couple more years out of the device after
that, so I was comfortable making the investment. I was soooooo wrong.

The device malfunctioned after 6 months, and the seller “BuySaveRepeat”
accepted it for repair. When they opened the device, they discovered unoriginal
parts inside which caused it to malfunction. They accused me of doing repairs myself
(which would void the warranty). I adamantly denied this, as it is completely
untrue, but they said the warranty was voided and sent the device back to me, ignoring
all of my additional messages. It arrived back to me two weeks after I had originally
    sent it, still malfunctioning.

While I was disgusted with the response from the seller, I thought
that at least Backmarket Proper would sort it out and do the right thing. I
contacted them through their customer service form (which is NOT easy to find
on their website) multiple times, but they took THREE WEEKS to get back to me,
and when they did, they stood behind the lying scumbag of a seller and
reiterated that the warranty was void and there was nothing further they could
do. Then to add insult to injury, they offered a 5% discount off my next purchase
from Backmarket (WTF?? Like I would give them another dollar after what they
    did to me).

I also communicated with them through Twitter and to make
this situation even more ridiculous, the company can’t even get on the same
page about what they are doing with my case. While the person operating the official
customer service email says they will help me no further, the Twitter
representative offered a “solution” that would have cost me MORE money and caused
me MORE inconvenience, after a MONTH of horrible customer service and back and forth.

I’ve cut my losses and went a bought a brand-new phone so I
could move on, since I still needed a functioning phone and could not waste any
more time or effort trying to get them to do the right thing. Luckily, I was
able to afford it, but it makes me sick to think that they could do this to
someone who couldn’t afford to buy a new one and thought that their original
purchase would be covered for a year.

Very helpful informative video my man. I’m excited to get my new MacBook Pro for a price that I can afford! I had a brand new unrefurbished Mac a year ago, but I got robbed after owning it for just 4 months. It cost me so much and have yet to get a replacement for my production. Thank You again
