These are just some of my picks for inexpensive computers for those people that don’t play games, or do anything else that requires a lot of system resources. I’ll have my picks for gaming desktops in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching 🙂

Hey TechGumbo, can you suggest me a phone perfect for students like me with a huge storage and great battery life. It should be smooth on performance and maintainable. My budget is 16000 to 17000 INR.

It’s really amazing what people toss out as "out of date" or "unrepairable" . A friend runs several offices and his IT "expert" told him that several of his PCs had problems that could not be repaired. So, he asked me if I wanted any of them. I took 2. Both had only minor software glitches that I fixed in less than an hour. I offered to return them but he had already installed replacements. I gave one to a charity and kept the other. It’s a powerful machine and should meet my needs for many more years. The point is that PCs are remarkably rugged. Another thing I often hear is that "my PC is so slow now that I’m going to have to get a new one." Usually a simple cleaning is all that’s required. At worst, just reinstall the OS and start over.
One of my laptops is a beautiful HP unit..$5 because the screen was cracked. Replacement was about $20 and 15 min. or so to do the simple installation. If you’re frugal like me and understand the time-value of money and can calculate compound interest, keeping older systems that still function well is money in your pocket. Oh, I’m looking at a bank of nice 19" LCD monitors as I type this. Each was from $2.50 to $5.00 from a thrift store where I made some donations.

  25. Shell Casing on October 17, 2020 at 4:49 pm

AIO PCs suck. A stand-alone tower would be more versatile and easier to upgrade, which would be necessary since all the showcased systems had spinning hard drives which, imo, are unusable as boot drives in 2017.

The Acer brand computers were given away free by AT&T years ago. The neighbor had one and it was a piece of junk. Right now there are loads of inexpensive desktop PC’s since the trend for laptops is the latest craze.
