  2. Work Without Walls on May 8, 2022 at 7:51 pm

This a very useful list, thanks for the information. Do you have an online whiteboard you like the best? I have found Deskle.com to be a great virtual collaboration whiteboard. Works on all browsers and you can sign up for free. Lots of useful features and templates too.

Thank you for another great video, TechGumbo. I love Thunderbird, it’s been my default email client for 15 years.

FCC Free Conference Call is similar to zoom but you get more time and more users per call for free

Awesome video I’ve been working from home since 3/13 and all of my office needs have been provided by my company but if that situation was to change, I can reference this for everything I need. Thank you!

Loom is good for sharing problems or tutos in video with colleagues.

  9. emailausdrucker on May 8, 2022 at 7:56 pm

Any reason you don’t like Google and the Google Suite? I love it. Transcripts PDF content to edit-ready word content, collaboration with others, small homepages can be made, team communication through the build in "hang out" app aso

  10. Darren Smith on May 8, 2022 at 7:58 pm

You shared some useful tips, downloaded a couple of them, VLC media player, ShareX and IDrive. I have been using Microsoft Office for years (home and work), I also use Skype, has been a while.

  11. Tech World on May 8, 2022 at 7:59 pm

WinSCP, Putty or Cygwin Terminal useful working with Linux servers on Windows. Anydesk useful for accessing desktop.

  12. Silver Solver on May 8, 2022 at 8:00 pm

If you need to edit PDF documents, I recommend the free PDF-XChange Editor.
Best I’ve found to open PDFs in Word with minimal problems is the Wordmate plug-in.

For collecting research, use either OneNote or Evernote. They have different ways of organizing, so it’s personal preference which suits you. Evernote is separate, while OneNote is part of Windows 10—or previously Office 365. I’ve used OneNote for many years, it’s truly excellent.

For moving larger files around between people, use DropBox.
Some may find IFTTT [If This, Then That] useful for automating work flow—eg if email from John, forward to Mary & Tim.

If you have a new Windows installation, go to Ninite.com to get your favorite free programs installed in one go—has worked flawlessly for me a number of times.

Save time & hassle by using a password manager—LastPass, Roboform or Bitwarden are my recommends.

    Thanks mate…great advice !!

Restyaboard is missing! One of the best remote working tools allows us to assign tasks, track progress, and communicate with team members.

Jitsi is another cool open-source conference call software

  28. Ivan Guerra on May 8, 2022 at 8:24 pm

ZOOM sales your data to facebook, SpyWare, don´t use it fnck SuckerBurguer everywhere planet earth. Use Jitsi meets open source instead, Jitsi.org.
BTW, Google have asked their workers NOT to use ZOOM.

  29. TechGumbo on May 8, 2022 at 8:26 pm

UPDATE ALERT: Just ahead of an investigation into security breaches at Zoom, their CEO Eric Yuan dumped $38 million in stock. https://www.thestreet.com/investing/zoom-video-ceo-sold-stock-privacy-concerns I repeat DO NOT USE ZOOM!!!!!!!! Use one of the other video conference programs mentioned. Microsoft Teams is also very good. They’re now offering 6 months free right now.

Hopefully this helps those of you that have never worked from home before… If you already work from home, what programs would you recommend for other people to use? Stay safe and DON’T USE ZOOM!!! Thanks for watching 🙂

Hi. I find your channel very useful so I am a huge fan. In our days one of the bigger problems is the too many files on the hard disks of the computers. Do you know any applications free or not, that can help us to organize all those files so it will make our work on computer and life easier. Something that will organize the chaos 🙂

  31. redf on May 8, 2022 at 8:28 pm

  37. Edwin Jonah on May 8, 2022 at 8:35 pm

I honestly use TickTick and think it’s better than Todoist. Multi-platform support, good reminders, daily planning sessions, natural language support, subtasks and more… Also, the free version of Todoist lacks basic functionality like reminders, which I just find frustrating.

  38. Giri dhar on May 8, 2022 at 8:37 pm

TechGumbo, can you please do a video on ‘NextCloud’? I’ve heard that it offers nearly unlimited storage and that it’s very secure coz we can self host our server. Please check if you can explore it. Thanks a lot! 🙂

  39. Alan Anderson on May 8, 2022 at 8:39 pm

Work From Home helps small businesses to stay productive at low costs. We use Restyaboard to organize my tasks and projects. It’s an effective free tool for managing remote working teams to ensure productivity when WFH.

  40. Jeff Hinchman on May 8, 2022 at 8:39 pm

In a previous video you have shown a program to analyze the data on your computer, I think visually. I have been looking and cant find it. Could your reply with the name of that software. Thank You.

  46. Kashvi Goel on May 8, 2022 at 8:46 pm

Restyaboard is an essential free software of 2020 while Work From Home.

  47. Bill Gross on May 8, 2022 at 8:47 pm

Have you considered sync.com in place of Dropbox? Dropbox has privacy concerns. Sync.com is totally encrypted. Free version gives us a more generous 5 gb storage.

  48. JVAV on May 8, 2022 at 8:47 pm

    I use discord for communication

  49. Amazing Philippines on May 8, 2022 at 8:49 pm
