    Is it for wifi reception

  2. Rajesh R on February 28, 2021 at 11:04 pm

Dude A50 has the worst antenna quality and definitely not worth the 8th place in you review. I have owned it and sold it within a month only because of its horrible signal reception, it’s that bad in fact. I have owned and used many phones before and never have seen a phone this pathetic. So giving it 8th place in your review itself shows ur review is just not CREDIBLE.

I love how 6 out of 10 of those phones are samsung phones. And yet none were iPhones, but all were androids 🀣

This is a paramount priority for me. I’m constantly traveling, and absolutely freak out if someone with a different phone but same network is getting a better signal than me. And I can’t tolerate a phone with no signal at all. It’s a paper weight. I seem to be the only one that notices this phenomenon, and it drives me quite mad. So I appreciate your attention to the most ignored quality in cellphones. Something literally almost no one talks about. But how reliable is your metric?

It seems borderline anecdotal. Or, rather, there has been observed a correlation, therefore there is always a direct 1:1 correlation, seems like a leap in logic. What other method can be used to test this hypothesis? Because while it seems likely that your model is fairly accurate, it also seems more than possible that (especially in the top 10) the model could break down a little, and the top 10 could actually be in a completely, or at least slightlly, different order when tested in real world application. Especially since antenna strength isn’t the only contributing factor to connectivity. Can you do more to convince me that SAR value is in fact directly indicative of the reverse value of antenna strength? And that, furthermore, that proves best reception.

I don’t mean to be a bitch, but I need the best connectivity in the universe. I can’t tolerate second best in this particular category. Many people prioritize camera or gaming, or what have you. I prioritize connectivity. When I have no, extremely weak, or spotty connectivity, I get truly upset. Thank you.

I am sad, I was looking to replace my existing phone because it seems to have such poor antenna quality in my home and wifi reception also but….I have the Galaxy Note 10+ Perhaps I just have a dud? Everyone else who visits seems to have far better reception than I do.

  21. W S on February 28, 2021 at 11:23 pm

One thing I’ve noticed is that with the newer phones every generation seems to get worse, so much so that I’ve found I’ve had to go back to a 2016 phone just to get a signal and it doesn’t matter if it is HTC, Sony, Samsung, Motorola etc they all seem as bad as one another. I’m not in a rural location either but in a UK city. Even during the short couple of miles trip in to the heart of the city the network coverage is dire. All manufacturers seem to think we live within 100 meters of a mast. I’d sooner have a chunkier phone and get a signal than have some ultra slim one that hardly gets a signal at all.

  23. Pascoal Soares on February 28, 2021 at 11:25 pm

Redmi phones have the worst antenna quality.. It should be made complusary for the mobile manufacturers to have a minimum antenna strength… Having a flagship mobile with poor reception is useless I feel

as a seaferer whose spend a lot of time far away from land i can suggest number one is Asus phone, then oppo or Vivo. I don’t remember the brands of the asus they use but its the 200-300$ price, the same with oppo and vivo my friends don’t use the expensive one.

samsung and apple sucks even inside the port

  35. Positron81 on February 28, 2021 at 11:37 pm

Pretty sure this video is nonsense. He gives no explanation as to how he came up with this top 10 ranking. If you search voice quality on Google his page comes up first with these results. I’m aware one person’s experience doesn’t represent everyone’s experience, but I have an iPhone 6 that has voice quality leagues ahead of a Samsung Galaxy A5 I have. On the iPhone 6 people I talk to actually sound like a person, with an analog quality to it, on my Samsung the person on the other end sounds like a robot and the sound is incredibly faint. Yes, most of use our phones to surf the web and send messages, but not being able to have a proper voice call is a big annoyance–it’s a phone for good’s sake!

The moment i saw a50 on your list, i reported your channel. A50 probably is one of the worst antenna phone.

    Get to the chopper

  40. Eric Sinclair on February 28, 2021 at 11:46 pm

My p30 has stronger signal than my note 9 and note 10+…A50 is a joke, even my Huawei P9 plus is far more better… But most vivo phone can do better than the p30… I’ve tried this at the place where its hard to get signals and mostly while hiking… vivo and p30 always do it better than my note 9/note 10+

  41. debu borah on February 28, 2021 at 11:48 pm

Can you please suggest best Antenna phone for 2020

  42. Donald Allen on February 28, 2021 at 11:48 pm

You seem to be relying on the SAR values (radiated power by the phone) to infer the ability of the antennas to RECEIVE a signal. Why not just obtain the measurements of received power, which you can do with Android phones? Yes, with iPhones you have to resort to something indirect, as you have, because iOS no longer permits getting a reading of received power in dBm.

I have been trying to replace an original Google Pixel with something newer, because the Pixel is no longer receiving security updates. I’ve tried a OnePlus 7t and a Samsung S10e. Both gave me received power readings of -120 dBm in my home, whereas the Pixel gives a reading of -90 dBm with the same SIM card in the in the same place in the house. That’s a factor of 1000 greater received signal power by the Pixel, so your point is absolutely correct — there are phones out there with bad antennas.

This came up because I tried to use the 7t to navigate when going to a family visit, a trip I’ve done with the Pixel many times without problems (I use the navigation to avoid traffic problems). The 7t would not connect to the Internet while driving. Both the OnePlus and the Samsung phones were returned. The phone manufacturers provide no information about antenna quality, so you have to try the phones to get that infomration, which is a royal pain. It’s clear they don’t want us to have this information, hoping that when calls are dropped or data connections can’t be obtained, we’ll blame the cellular carriers for poor coverage.

  44. Mark Carroll on February 28, 2021 at 11:51 pm

It strongly appears to me, that the Samsung Note 10+ does have possibly the best cell phone strength. This was also echoed, from another independent source, resulting in my extremely strong consideration in upgrading from a Note 9 to a NOTE 10+ with the ‘snap dragon processor – Have concluded this after considerable time in listening and reading to various reports. PLUS the Note 10 + has one of the largest lithium iron batteries. I do NOT believe that the lithium po was designed for the consumer, but rather for the "manufacturers benefit", in my opinion.

  45. Stacy Anderson on February 28, 2021 at 11:51 pm

Oneplus sure needs to do better with their antenna quality. Out of 8 phones I have, it’s the worst and that makes me sad and mad. Fast paperweight where I live.

How can I check whether my phones have a good quality antenna?? Because most of the phones stated here are samsung. Not all samsung phones have a good coverage means poor antenna

  50. Warren Hammond on February 28, 2021 at 11:58 pm
