When looking back at all the best games of 2019, we can’t help but think of all the amazing titles we got to experience. So, when it came down to deciding the Best Games of the Year, we at MojoPlays found ourselves split across the board, but after much consideration and examining a wide variety of factors, we had to give the top spot to Sekiro, making our game of the year Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Me & My friend made it to the very very end. The final boss is impossible. I just dont have the skills.
For me it’s Resident Evil 2
It’s a shame that Link’s Awakening Remake and Pokemon Sword & Shield couldn’t be in this list all because of their respective issues. Link’s Awakening Remake got awkward control scheme, the infamous framerate issues, the GODDAMN MOLDORM, Eagle’s Tower & Turtle Rock still being horrible dungeons, lack of improvements in replayability compared to ALBW, and Chamber Dungeons being a worthless disappointing additions. Need I to mention again about Pokemon Sword & Shield being even more divisive than even X & Y? Nintendo is weak this year.
One last thing. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night couldn’t make it in this list because not all versions are created equal especially the Switch version being the worst ever even with the patch.
Sekiro is the easy number one, but the only game mentioned that I think came close was RE2. The rest are good, just not on Sekiro’s level
Well deserved. That game is a masterpiece.

Yea, because it’s the best game that came out this year. This is an easy choice.

Re2 has a lot of issues honestly which is why it’s not game of the year to me it’s more overhyped by newcomers who didn’t even know how the game was supposed to actually be done yea gameplay great mr x amazing but the characters are dry and so is the story aspects
Borderlands 3 and The Outer Worlds were infinitely more fun than yet another souls game.
I LOVE SEIKRO ! It’s my first From Software game and I’m really enjoying the challenging aspect of it. I’ve played a few games this year that I’ve really enjoyed such as Days Gone and RE2 but Seirko is the one for me. I hope it gets game of the year but at the very least I’m happy that it got nominated and received the recognition it deserves

Now this, out of all the lists watch mojo has made, is a number one spot that is well deserved.
Sekiro is overrated.
You know a game is good when you haven’t played it but still dying to play and would still vote or recommend it

Fire Emblem Three Houses is my GOTY 🙂
Also, I think the sound design and camera usage when in critical situation is so well-done in Sekiro. Probably only match by RE2 and Death Stranding respectively this year. But this game does an incredible job merging it into one game.
I’m glad you didn’t give it to RE2. As good as that game is, it’s still a remake.

starting out:: shit… this is unfair.. its awfull…. NO WAY
mid way: wait i’m getting it.. yeah! i can actually STAND and fight in this game instead of rolling around every time i see an enemy flinch….
endgame/ng+: i’m a badass shinobi GTFO genichiro
Never played the game, because I’ve been busy getting the Platinum for the other games I’ve been busy with through the year (RE2, DMC5, Bloodstained, CTR: Nitro-Fueled, KH3, FFVIII Remaster).
I actually asked my co-worker if he has a copy of Sekiro so I can borrow it. Too bad he doesn’t.
So this one’s gonna be a masochistic X-mas gift for myself.😁
DMC V or Sekiro for the win. Both have intriguing stories, engaging combat, great music, and much replayability.
I loved Sekiro mainly because of its Japanese setting but the game is too hard for me and yes I know that’s the point of FromSoftwares games, I couldn’t get past the Chained Ogre (so I think I’ll wait for Ghost of Tsushima instead of sticking with Sekiro)
