    I think one way to discover new music is enter an artist you like on the youtube and usually the other choices on the right can lead you down a rabbit hole, from which you can usually emerge with something interesting for your various playlists. That’s how I discovered Khraungbin and now I can’t stop digging on them.

    This amp is…OK. My biggest issue is that it imparts its sound signature so strongly that it basically overrides all of the other gear in your chain. I still think the Jotenheim is a much better investment, and definitely worth saving for over the Magnius even considering it’s double the price.

    to the new music part, google music used to be great for finding new music. YT music not as much. It would recommend currated playlist and also the radio feature would play small bands from uk and canada along with my USA R&B selections

    Using a balanced system when you have less that 50 feet of audio cable to deal with is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. The whole point is to be able to carry the signal accurately over distance. With less than 10ft of cable in most cases you aren’t going to experience the kind of interference that balanced cables are there to fix in the first place. Its a waste of money the audio dorks are pushing because they get off on luxury, not sound quality.

    I recently purchased this amp along with the Modius DAC. Joshua your reviews are extremely well done. Informative and honest opinions that help in making a decision which components to purchase. You are right about the rubber feet leaving marks. I solved this by using small felt pads with an adhesive backing and no more marks on my desk.

Which amp is better for the Hifiman Sundara, this Schiit Magnius or the Schiit Magni heresy? I have a separted dac/amp ( pro-ject pre box s2 digital) that is not powerful enough for the Sundara

    Hi Josh, do we need an amplifier for headphones under 100 ohms? Most of my headphones (both pro and consumer ones) are 32-64 ohms. It seems a good DAC (with an integrated, decent amplifying component) is enough for low impedance cans.

    Really enjoyed the touch of humor in this video! I love Magnius’ form factor, but I ended up going with the Asgard 3. I really don’t think that the two cannibalize one another because their characters are quite different and, I think, likely appeal to fairly distinct tastes. I know we’re getting into "subjectivist" speak here, but I know a lot of audio nerds, and most (emphasis: most) of them fall at least somewhat into one of two camps, either the fast/clear/neutral/less-forgiving-but-more-accurate camp or the rich/warm/mellow/more-forgiving-but-less-accurate camp. I think Magnius and Asgard reflect those distinctions, and Schiit making a $200 amp for each group is smart, IMO. I definitely fall into camp 2, so Asgard was the clear choice for me.
