A new report reveals that Sony is making a very big move with PS Plus Premium and Game trials that could shake things up in a significant way. Sony’s PS Plus revamp hasn’t been met with universal positivity and while some fans are excited for it and the classic PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games, not everyone feels it’s worth it. Pay for demos 😂

  2. Rodrigo Alvarez Vargas on April 27, 2022 at 6:35 pm

This makes PS+ Premium even greater!

  3. Rodrigo Alvarez Vargas on April 27, 2022 at 6:36 pm

I’m sure if Xbox Game Pass had a third tier with +300 classics and Trials of +1000 store games people would subscribe. I think this is great value for Playstation gamers

  4. Scottish_guy90 on April 27, 2022 at 6:36 pm

I liked games that couldn’t buy because they were too expensive

    Days gone

    MK11
    Dying light 2

I still haven’t bought any of them because I can’t afford them. plus I have all my PS4 games that play on the PS5. which sorta defeats the purpose on having a PS5.

When I got the PS3 only PS3 titles were playable on it. That defined a New console. The PS5 isn’t really a new console, it’s just new hardware more powerful hardware that can run games faster and give us stuff PC users have, Fidelty, Ray tracing, enhanced graphics. But even in 4K it still looks 1080p.

My definition of 4K is like photorealistic graphics that when you see it- it’s true to life. There’s some photorealistic graphic demos on YouTube, which I found to be of homes, and they looked real to life style graphics. And was like I hope Ps5 can have graphics like this.

    But again no.

  5. Paul Slade on April 27, 2022 at 6:36 pm

And developers says nah your ok, then doesn’t release thier games on PS5. This is good for consumers but very anti Dev

  6. Alsender Farforchips on April 27, 2022 at 6:37 pm

    I think this sucks

  7. Potato on April 27, 2022 at 6:45 pm

So you have to be in a paid subscription for 2 hour game trials. On steam and xbox you have the ability to refund a game within 2 hours of play time and you dont need to be in a paid subscription.

  8. Homie life saver on April 27, 2022 at 6:48 pm

    Full games on gamepass 👎👎👎
Game demos on ps plus 👍👍👍

  9. Chief's Main Squeeze on April 27, 2022 at 6:50 pm

How are you capping for this forcing devs to do this, just get gamepass instead and play the full game this is ridiculous

  10. Snoy Fly on April 27, 2022 at 6:51 pm

Game trials and demos and NOT the same thing. We had game trials on PlayStation 3 as part of PlayStation Plus. You download the FULL game and get to play for 2 hours (was 1 hour on PS3). Demos, just like on PS3, will still be available without PlayStation Plus.

  11. Randy on April 27, 2022 at 6:51 pm

Having game trials in the ps premium tier is not pro consumer. Sony should just offer refunds like Microsoft does if the game has been played less than two hours. Locking it as part of ps premium tier service is anti consumer.

  12. Quazar on April 27, 2022 at 6:52 pm

This would have saved people hundred with cyberpunk 2077

  13. Yahya Ndanusa on April 27, 2022 at 6:54 pm

Running your mouth about gamepass….yet praising 2 hour long demos😂😂
    The hippocrisy 🚶🏼‍♂️

  14. EinXTein on April 27, 2022 at 6:56 pm

Just my opinion, but I prefer a single longer video as opposed to a number of smaller videos.

  15. Ninja Neven on April 27, 2022 at 6:56 pm

Demos could seriously just be for character creation & game play tutorials. Short story that leads into a boss fight to build the hype. Kinda like how Order of 1886 was so short.

  16. VOODOO VIBES on April 27, 2022 at 6:57 pm

The mental gymnastics you go through to justify paying for Demo’s. This is why Sony constantly takes the piss, because most of you muppets just take it and worse, celebrate their bad practices.

  17. BL00MYB0Y on April 27, 2022 at 6:58 pm

I had no interest in the top tear of PS+ until now. This seems like a fantastic idea from Sony

  18. Abhishek Bhatia on April 27, 2022 at 6:59 pm

A game dev setting a price point at 34$ might think it better to price it at 33.99$ to evade the policy lol

  19. Victor Alistein on April 27, 2022 at 7:00 pm

Problem here is Sony is asking devs to make time trials for PS+ premium without compensating them. Either devs will all submit after 3months, or you are going to see a mass departure. The idea is nice if Sony is going to pay for those time trials.

  20. 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜 on April 27, 2022 at 7:01 pm

Imagine being hyped to pay for game demos..

  21. D pitter on April 27, 2022 at 7:01 pm

Wow is is crazy. I would never believe people would be happy to pay for a game trail. I can’t see the value from this. Right now I see that gamepass has more value. I get the full game and if I don’t like it I just delete it. If i like the game I can purchase it and get a discount. On playstation side I pay 100 plus dollars for the subscription and if i like the game i pay $76 to own it. I really don’t see the value unless you love Sony so much that they can never do wrong. This was horrible, but at the end of the day I blame the fans that don’t call.Sony out. By agreeing to this Sony will only get worse.

  22. thaChuck on April 27, 2022 at 7:01 pm

timed game trials should be a system feature of DRM like the way legacy PlayStation Now gives you DRM access to download games you don’t own but are available on the service

  23. Lee on April 27, 2022 at 7:02 pm

An extra £50 a year could save me more in the games I don’t end up buying.

I’ve heard XBots whinging about this saying your take isn’t pro-consumer. Of which I would say: it’s still majorly cheaper than Gamepass and it’s a definite improvement from Sony.

Maybe it’s not: "pro-consumer" as you put it. But it’s a definite improvement.

  24. Ramsey Schroeder on April 27, 2022 at 7:02 pm

This is perfect! 100% using this for Forspoken

  25. MBG on April 27, 2022 at 7:03 pm

How do you feel about this move that Sony is making with PS Plus Premium? Will you subscribe to it?

  26. Chris Reichardt on April 27, 2022 at 7:03 pm

Idc what the die hards say, this is f’in ridiculous. Another sony fk up. Dunno if it’s arrogance or what…but it’s dumb af. Paywall for demos huh….wow…just wow.

  27. joseph10704 on April 27, 2022 at 7:04 pm

I like to point out MBG is wrong because its says in the article to all dev who decide to do game demos u have a trail wall of up to 3 months meaning there is a deadline.also not ever dev is going to do this because this takes time and money and developers to do this demo side of things for gaming.and most devs dont want to give a demo because they know if this demo is not what is is at launch then there going to have mad consumers.demos are never always final builds of games some are but most are not.its could be old parts of the game it could be pre beta but its never the final build for a game demo.Simple because it cost money to do this in a game demo.most of all time is important most devs see this as a waste of time.making game demos.

  28. Swizz242 on April 27, 2022 at 7:06 pm

Well their goes all the third party mid tier devs. Try your luck on playstation and need a 2hr trial or collect that gamepass check up front, no trial. Only time will tell

  29. prodj.mixape official on April 27, 2022 at 7:07 pm

@MBG  steam have 2 hour refund window, let’s call it "game trial" that doesn’t locked behind paywall.

U didn’t spend any on cloud saves and game trial at no cost.

Suddenly Sony is Pro consumer? my ass.

  30. fangadanga on April 27, 2022 at 7:07 pm

What a dumb idea. Now I don’t a problem with the game trials, just putting them behind a sub makes no sense at all. Devs would want their game trial to be in front of a many eyeballs as possible not stuck behind a paywall with the smallest amounts of subs. This doesn’t benefit the dev team in anyway.

  31. Gabriel E on April 27, 2022 at 7:09 pm

I like it, it’s a good spin on the subscription service thing. I like to chose my games, this sounds useful to me. Ideally online would be free and I wouldn’t even consider PS+ but since that isn’t the case I might as well go for the tier that has the most value to me.

  32. iwantgoals 15 on April 27, 2022 at 7:11 pm

Yes! Give us game trials since demo’s are dead.

  33. jason hearn on April 27, 2022 at 7:12 pm

this is what Companies should do and actually appeal to the consumer especially since these higher tier games range from $60 to $70

  34. Ultrafunk Records on April 27, 2022 at 7:12 pm

Developers: Do you want us to work on demos for free? and then you make money from our work?
    F… You Sony…
And that is how no one is going to make games for the already failed ps5.

I remember that demos were free during the whole video game existence…

Sony is going straight to the garbage

  35. Jay Allen on April 27, 2022 at 7:12 pm

Microsoft and Oculus have the same return policy as Steam.

  36. chris tonchev on April 27, 2022 at 7:13 pm

u guys are drunk esp MBG, how the hell is this Pro-consumer when its not,Devs won’t like it cause it will prop drop the sells on that X game and why would u pay 34$ to play Demos for 2h are we still in early 2000?Anti-consumer and Anti-dev company all i can say

  37. Steven Stem Jr. on April 27, 2022 at 7:17 pm

I think game trials is a great motivator to get developers to stop putting out shit games

  38. HN on April 27, 2022 at 7:18 pm

I think the difference between demo and trial is that a demo is a limit in content and game trial is a limit in playtime. So speedrunners can potentially finish games in 20 minutes.

  39. Shades Of Grey Matter on April 27, 2022 at 7:20 pm

I’ve got mixed feelings about this. First of all, MBG is right, it’s not like paying for a demo. It’s like paying for something that’s significantly easier to develop than a demo. It should be free.
On the other hand, giving people a chance to play games before they buy them is good. My hope is that if developers are already forced to make game trials, they will make shorter game trials available to lower tier subscribers.
I think a better move by Sony would’ve been to give higher tiers longer trials, or limiting the number of trials you can try per month on lower tiers, because everyone should be able to try a game before they buy it. Forcing people to a higher subscription just to be able to see if games are right for them is shitty.

  40. Kevin Banks on April 27, 2022 at 7:20 pm

I support the idea there are some games that I am iffy about even though I watch people on YouTube play these games I like to get a feel for myself of how the game is so a 2-hour trial I think that’s perfect and getting a feel of if I want this game or not so I support the idea and I think that’s a great step in the right direction for developers as well some people might not want to buy it but a two-hour trial can convince them to buy it especially if done right putting a player in a core position in the game that can show you the tone and the style of the game and what you would be missing out on if you didn’t purchase this game I think it’s a great move by Sony

  41. wasupm on April 27, 2022 at 7:20 pm

2 hour trials maybe too much, I’d say 1 hour would be fine or even bringing back demos. 2 hours seems like a lot of hassle for smaller studios.

  42. Mitchropolitan on April 27, 2022 at 7:20 pm

I disagree wholeheartedly and NEEDS to be fine tuned especially for smaller 3rd party and smaller titles that hit the $40 threshold because most games post production are worKing on patches for bugs, glitches, etc and DLC. They may have to sell the game at a lower price point or put extra work that should be used to improve their game. This could be a deterrent for 3rd party studios working with Sony in the future and push them out of exclusivity deals or into direct competition (Microsoft). This should not be a requirement. Mandates as we’ve seen so many times cause a BACKLASH!

  43. Paul Barrett on April 27, 2022 at 7:21 pm

Games trials must be 2 hours?
Activision: but that’s longer then any of our games!

  44. Accordion TV on April 27, 2022 at 7:22 pm

Yay!!!! Paying for what is essentially a demo. Thanks Sony

  45. Nibba on April 27, 2022 at 7:23 pm

    Imagine paying for demos😂😂

Lol I just see this as pissing developers off.

  49. JAYJAY SHOWCASER on April 27, 2022 at 7:31 pm

Game trials what’s that / lol 😆 / i haven’t played a game trial in years / no actually its been decades / i don’t need it / I’m to much of a experience gamer to play one now /

  50. T M on April 27, 2022 at 7:32 pm

How about watching games on youtube or twitch instead paying for Demos ? How much of a fanboy are you ? brain damage ? I dont know but something is wrong with you.
