Samsung QN900A 8K QLED TV Review – Worth going 8k in 2021?

Samsung QN900A 8K QLED TV Review – Worth going 8k in 2021?

The Samsung QN900A 8k QLED is one of three 8k TVs released by Samsung in 2021, sitting at the very top of its Neo QLED lineup. Like other Neo QLEDs, it uses Mini LED backlighting that lets it reach very high levels of brightness. While it’s a great TV overall, it’s underwhelming for an 8k TV with a hefty price tag and doesn’t have the performance to match its exorbitant price.

Feels like a home theater with its infinite screen. And quality of panel itself.

I would like to point out one SMALL fact.
Apple recently released a series for their streaming service called FOUNDATION.
That tv show is NOT in 8K.
Apple is a TRILLION dollar company.
If THEY can’t/won’t do it, what hope is there for everybody else?

  9. Ron69NY on June 6, 2022 at 11:26 pm

You are so wrong to assume 0:17 that QN900A 65"(HDR48X) is similar to 85"(HDR64K). I couldn’t believe that you expert missed that one so badly. It is kind of annoying….

  10. A L on June 6, 2022 at 11:26 pm

I own QN900A, and found that the sound distorted when playing deep bass. I replaced the tv once and the problem persists.

  11. Michael Daniels II on June 6, 2022 at 11:27 pm

I bought the 85" Qn800a, in my opinion it is the top of the line 4K tv from Samsung in the US. 8k is not a thing yet, but you can’t get the one connect box in the US on the 4k TV’s. I like it so far.

  12. Rob Bird on June 6, 2022 at 11:27 pm

Rtings has made a major mistake classifying the Z9J as “exotic” and still reviewing this one ☝️ they had the same MSRP 🙄🙄🙄

  13. em1ownerify on June 6, 2022 at 11:29 pm

    I have the 2017 Samsung ks9500 flagship
Do you think this is worth the upgrade or is it to early and I should wait??

  14. Alexander Maximilian- looks two times on June 6, 2022 at 11:29 pm

Is there a dirty screen effect? Thanks

  15. David Cole on June 6, 2022 at 11:30 pm

8K TV make no sense today because the standard is not settled. Also very little content to take advantage of 8K Resolution. Better to wait 4 to 5 years when it might be more of a standard.

  16. k bar on June 6, 2022 at 11:32 pm

This is by far the worst TV on the planet. Buyer beware! 2 GB of RAM is not enough memory to process 4k, not to mention 8K. Constant black screening and every 3 mins a purge of cache which results in regular fluxuation of resolution. 10/100 Network interface port is useless for the required bandwidth to stream 8k. The hardware is bottom line. not fitting for standard definition. Upscaling is handicapped by lack of memory to process the data.

  17. Eddie Mack on June 6, 2022 at 11:33 pm

Ok, which tv is better in the living room were there are typically 1 to 2 windows? Will it be the samsung QD-OLED or the Sony A90J ?

  18. Javier Vasquez on June 6, 2022 at 11:35 pm

8k if you can afford it is worth it. It’s upscaling is phenomenal. Love it! Even though I had 3 fail tvs of this model. The fourth one work good with minor crackling once in awhile from heat. Despite its problems worth owning it. The picture Quality is just amazing!

  19. Michael Wyckoff on June 6, 2022 at 11:37 pm

As much as I love TV technology I’m a little hard pressed to see the need for a 8K TV right now. I already know the resolution is amazing but so is 4K resolution on the right TV. Plus the cost is rather expensive now for 8K tvs. Surprisingly 2021 has some super impressive 4K tvs released this year. Some OLEDS are brighter than ever before and the miniled TVs that are out are very good as well. Then a lot of people say there isn’t hardly any 8K content to watch. Me personally I don’t need everything I watch upscaled up to near 8K resolution. For now I’m satisfied with the variety of 4K TVs available now. Just my thoughts and opinions.

  20. Yeah Right on June 6, 2022 at 11:37 pm

I doubt people will flock to 8k as fast as they did to 4K, which would mean 8k is a ways off in terms of mass adoption.

  21. Trump Ameri on June 6, 2022 at 11:38 pm

    QN900 infinite screen is masterpiece

  22. kevin g on June 6, 2022 at 11:39 pm

All TVs suck! Wait until they step up to better standards.

  23. Deplorable_DAD { DD } on June 6, 2022 at 11:39 pm

    LOVE tech but I DON’T need/want an "8k" tv.
There’s ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to $pend the extra money ESPECIALLY since there really ISN’T a hell of a lot of 8k content out there.
… Maybe in a few years.

  24. Arturas Zaleskis on June 6, 2022 at 11:42 pm

    Another Samsung advert

  27. OliRock92 on June 6, 2022 at 11:46 pm

I want to buy it for future proofing. I’d hate to buy a 4k just to need to replace it in 5 years or so. Also, I’m a retro gamer (also play modern games but still). I have a converter for AV to HDMI but I’d much rather enjoy the TV’s own upscaling technology than a cheap converter’s. Keeping my fingers crossed AV inputs will come back if people ask for it enough. I mostly want a new TV for a PS5 but I don’t want to have to buy another one when PS6 comes out. So, yeah. That’s where I’m stuck. This TV is pricey and a bit too big to my taste but no 8Ks are bellow 65" so far. 4Ks don’t seem like they’re worth it as they’ll be replaced in 5 short years at most.

  28. UNKNOWN COVAX on June 6, 2022 at 11:46 pm

It’s 8k and costs 8k, I just bought and still haven’t set it up. It’s complicated and over priced.

  29. LordDeadSpider on June 6, 2022 at 11:47 pm

So if the 1connect box fails you are unable to connect any device into the tv? Wouldn’t that render the whole tv useless if that ever happened?

  30. Raul cabronero on June 6, 2022 at 11:50 pm

why dont review the qn800a ?

  31. Jerb Sherb on June 6, 2022 at 11:50 pm

I actually think this box is a fantastic idea. I hate having to reach behind the TV every time I want to hook up or disconnect something. Plus, it helps the TV from being touched or moved too many times for the same reason.

can you do a comparison between this and lg oled c1? or samsung qn900b 75 inch vs lg c2? or qn900a vs qn900b. i heard this tear we have more than 13k dimming zones:)))

  34. Tony Keefer on June 6, 2022 at 11:55 pm

So im debating between the qn800a and the 900a but the price differene is between 1500 and 2k depending on where shopping at. So which would be better, would i really notice a difference between the 2 or is it just paying that much extra for a couple moer built in speakers and a .01mm screen difference aka infinity

  35. Dom Noah on June 6, 2022 at 11:56 pm

Not a fan of ads on a TV this expensive. Going LG next.

Almost ready to return the TV, before it is plugged in

  39. Justine Laxamana on June 7, 2022 at 12:03 am

I guess all TV that this channel review have mediocre contrast on anything. What should I buy now then? Not helpful

  40. Dvd on June 7, 2022 at 12:03 am

How can it fit on the flush wall mount when its got that big separate box? to plug it in to?

  46. Rachmad Suhartono on June 7, 2022 at 12:09 am

    The bezel is insane

  47. k bar on June 7, 2022 at 12:11 am

Would you pay $5000 for a computer that only has 2 GB of RAM, 3.5 GB storage, and 10/100 Mbps NIC? None of these specs are advertised (understandably)

  48. Chris Roxs on June 7, 2022 at 12:11 am

Hello. What do you mean when you say “You can fit the box to the stand” (sure we can see) and then you say: “If you don’t want to use the included stand then you can wallmount the tv and put the box behind. It fits on the tv with included screws”. This sound great but when I asked Samsung about this they said that you cannot attach the one connect behind the tv when you wall-mount it. So what do you mean?

  49. Vaggelis Siatras on June 7, 2022 at 12:14 am
