Actual decades ago, I (Tim Rogers) played every single one of the 20 games included on the upcoming PlayStation Classic all the way to completion. Today, I made this video ranking them all based on how likely I am to want to play them again.
PS1 classic game selection was garbage but so is this ranking list.

The shoutout to Azure Dreams brings a tear to my eye. I thought I was the only person who has ever played that game.

FFT, vagrant story, suikoden, DQ:torneko, xenogears, Breath of Fire 4, Alundra etc get my vote.
This feels like the people choosing the games are the same ones that create box art for western releases. Clueless.

This is why I got Bleemsync on my ps classic… other games I would add to your list are Legend of Dragoon (translation’s wacky but the rest is great), Parappa, and Medievil.
I’d love to watch a video where Tim explains his own PS Classic lineup at length. And then more on every console he wants to do.

Man, I disagree with you on a lot here, Tim, and usually we’re lockstep.
Even though there are excellent remakes of the spyro and crash series, the original games should still be on any playstation classic worth its salt. It’s not like there’s a way to view the old graphics in those remakes, after all, so it’s important for posterity, nostalgia, and was a huge part of the console’s identity.
Also not a fan of new n’ tasty. It was not at all faithful to the visual aesthetic of the original game, and the in-game advertisements for other games on PSN is totally out of line considering the game’s obvious anti-capitalist themes. Edit: though, in hindsight, the first Blood Omen is nearly impossible to find anywhere. So, I get it. I just honestly hate how the music in Soul Reaver on PC isn’t dynamic :”(
