Q: knock knock? Who’s there? A: not LG when it brakes

  2. banjo099 on April 25, 2022 at 7:30 pm

At the 90’s, it was the future when refrigerator, microwave and others really start talking to each other and communicating about the contents of the products in them. When will this come, or is this vision gone?

  3. Melanie Scott on April 25, 2022 at 7:30 pm

This is such a waste of money. So who knocks on the door to look what’s inside and doesn’t open it? You still have to open it to get what you need.. thus letting out cold air anyway. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    Nobody:

    Me: double knocking at 3am

PLEASE SHARE: Lets make LG to recall all its faulty products in a proper way

we had house fire started from ice dispenser of our side by side lg fridge. the fridge was in recall list published by lg in 2011, but no one notified us.

I bought the fridge from Harvey Norman, well known retail store. They have my contact details, my mobile number is still the same.I was easily reachable. NO ONE contacted us. No letter, No message, No email.

The recall has been issued by lg after several fire incidents. More than 39000 affected lg appliances have been sold. There are many model numbers in the recall list. All have faulty microswitches, which can set on fire at any time.

I guess there would be still many affected models working in Australia or probably worldwide, and the owners are not aware of the risk.

we were lucky that no one hurt. Next time it may not be the same. Remeber that Grenfell tower fire tragedy which killed 72 people in London in June 2017, started from a fridge. We do not want this to happen to anyone anymore.

Please share this to all your friends. Lets make lg to recall all its faulty products.

After knocking how long does the light remain on?

  7. Lân Nguyễn on April 25, 2022 at 7:42 pm

so touching for an excellent video

  8. gaboogablah on April 25, 2022 at 7:42 pm

Are you such an airhead you don’t know what is in your own refrigerator? What a marketing scam. Don’t forget the latch for those doors breaks often.

  9. FL FL on April 25, 2022 at 7:43 pm

This is an old review – which is typical for Cnet (they often have old, mediocre reviews). The new models do maintain an even temperature at the door-in-door feature. Don’t trust Cnet reviews, they are bought and paid for by advertisers.

  11. Tim Swancer on April 25, 2022 at 7:44 pm

That makes no sense! You see what’s on the door not in the fridge

  16. digitalconsciousness on April 25, 2022 at 7:53 pm

1:34 move the shelves around on the notches that are clearly visible in the back of the fridge, you inbred mouth-breather. Jesus, like have you ever used a refrigerator before? I bet this guy’s mind was blown the first time he was shown how his driver’s seat can ADJUST to different heights. Well guess what, buddy. Refrigerator shelves can adjust up and down too! WOW!!!! idiot

I feel like it would save energy in the sense that kids nowadays look for food/drink items with the door open. Letting more cold air out, with the knock feature the kids can look what’s inside without opening the door, once they find something they open the door and grab that item. The time kids will spend holding the door open would decrease thus saving a little bit more energy on the bill

  20. woodoo4 on April 25, 2022 at 7:58 pm

But we already know what’s in our fridge. And to check everything we usually have to move objects to find something else behind them… Sooo… Just open the f*** door…

  21. Bob Mohr on April 25, 2022 at 8:01 pm

Bought a door in door without the glass love the 1st door open for water, creamers, juices etc…. very functional beats opening the whole door 12 times a day for water, creamer etc…

  22. Don Seagrave on April 25, 2022 at 8:02 pm

knock knock ….whos there…not LG when the fridge brakes!!!

  26. Happy on April 25, 2022 at 8:06 pm

too bad its 1 side only

  27. ObliviOni aka Oni on April 25, 2022 at 8:07 pm

Um.. this is the dumbest evention ever. It’s physically easier to just open and look fully at contents clearly then punching an appliance and leaving possible marks on it and yourself. Stupid humans making stupid gimmicks instead of real inventions that help

  28. Michael Brown on April 25, 2022 at 8:08 pm

I got one thinking it’ll be nice for kids to just grab their drinks that way. I hate it. The feature I hate worse is that you MUST knock on the door to get the light on in that area of the door, opening the instaview door does NOT make the light come on like you would expect from any fridge on earth. Doesn’t help that the door doesn’t always respond to the knock of little hands, so they’re sometimes banging away trying to get the light to come on. If the light came on when the door is opened then I’d be about 50/50 liking this fridge. Doesn’t help that it costs so much for a fridge door that doesn’t activate the lights.

  29. Nichole Hamilton on April 25, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Just purchased this fridge for under 2000 at lowes, great deal, lots of space.

What’s the process to see on the left side?

  32. 231mac on April 25, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Where’d they get that price??? It’s BEEN $3500 at Home Depot since it came out… still pricey, but not that BS they’re saying

  33. Project Danzo on April 25, 2022 at 8:12 pm

why not use see-thru glass like the one in the convenient store? so you don’t have to knock the refrigerator’s door

  34. FZplaysツプロ on April 25, 2022 at 8:12 pm

What if they made a window door for the *Bathroom*

  35. Black Labrador on April 25, 2022 at 8:12 pm

I just purchased this exact LG Smart Refrigerator. I only paid $1,700 because it had a little dent in the (non-Stainless) side of the unit. Love the frig. especially the Smart Grid, Wi-Fi feature which this review did not even mention, BIG MISTAKE. This Smart Grid, Wi-Fi function, tracks the ~kWh consumption of your frig. on a hourly basis for an entire month! This is a REALLY COOL & EASY way to save money! Also, this frig. allows it’s owners to participate in your local utilities’ Demand Response programs. Read up on these features, most people have no idea what a kWh is or what Demand Response means. Time to join the 21st Centuty!

  36. 738polarbear on April 25, 2022 at 8:14 pm

Why do people just knock things because they are jealous and can’t afford them?

  37. Greg Chartrand on April 25, 2022 at 8:14 pm

My LG fridge died after 5 years, a leak in the sealed system that was covered by the warranty. LG did nothing but string me along for two months refusing to do anything. LG fridge’s are crap and they do not stand behind their product.

  38. Ed Paine on April 25, 2022 at 8:17 pm

Just bought this fridge for 2k at Home Depot

  40. South Beach Lifestyle on April 25, 2022 at 8:17 pm

We bought LG French Door Refrigerator in 2012, ever since then we kept having issues and paid for Repair. I already spent over $1000 on repair within 5 years. And my Refrigerator is no longer useful without new compressor installation. Now Freon gas leak, compressor fail, with out of warranty, I need to pay almost $460 again for New compressor installation. Customer service is not organized; they give few numbers of authorized service center which they do not install compressor or not in service in my area. I Spent time on calling back to customer service several times. Well, now we need to dispose crappy refrigerator and will pay for a new one. Do not buy LG Appliances. They have no customer service and they do not care customer’s time.

  41. PieceOfToast on April 25, 2022 at 8:17 pm

I feel like the shelves on the door and the glass door feature kind of don’t go together

  42. meg on April 25, 2022 at 8:19 pm

No Holiday LG appliance sales means "HELLO SAMSUNG!" Knock knock at that high price point is nonsensical. I was gonna purchase LG fridge, washer and dryer this holiday… but w/o LG sales, I’m shifting happily over to Samsung.

  43. michael acebo on April 25, 2022 at 8:22 pm

check inside? just open the door, its just another gimmick!😂

  44. Marvin Martin on April 25, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Why not just replace it with glass?

  45. hipolito prieto on April 25, 2022 at 8:24 pm

I have one, you can clap twice and it turns on and if you clap twice again it turns back off.

  46. FlyingPigNJ on April 25, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Guys, great review, but it has one little problem. The majority of energy savings for instaview don’tt come from preventing the coldness from escaping. It comes from not having to open the fridge while you are being totally indecisive about which drink you want to get. If you don’t have this problem, I guess it doesn’t help you. I totally have this problem. I’d have the fridge open for 30 seconds and still end up not having a decision.

  47. B T on April 25, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Absolutely stupid. Who goes to their fridge just to look inside? I go to my fridge to get something, so I’m gonna open the door regardless. Even if I was wanting to look inside, opening the door is one motion. Knocking to see what’s inside is 2. Completely dumb. I’m throwing out every LG item I own.

  49. ShAnE on April 25, 2022 at 8:25 pm

This is pointless just open the door

  50. burtmanindustries on April 25, 2022 at 8:27 pm

It’s ONLY offered in Black Stainless! This is pointless. Needs to be offered in regular stainless. Not everyone is going to do a whole kitchen in black stainless. Add a regular stainless for since the last 10 years have been that and people that want to replace have a choice.
