Special guest Alan Henry, editor of Smarter Living at The New York Times, shares his favorite desk accessory. It’s a mouse mat, which is basically a super-sized mouse pad. Alan tells you why a mouse mat is a great addition to any desk, and why his features SOME of the moons of jupiter, but not all.

Is the control good on this pad?
When looking for a desk pad, make sure it has stitching around the edges. The Novelkeys mats are particularly good as they are bit thicker than most. One side benefits of a desk pad is that it will dampen the noise of a keyboard, particularly mechanical keyboards. It will not make Blues quite, but it will muffle the clack from Browns and Reds.
I see a bunch of NovelKeys designs I would buy, but they’re sold out. I hope they bring back the NASA and brown Woodgrain pads!
