Nice i type 160 wpm, on a cherry mx red. But i type fast as a membrane keyboards, but they are a bit more fatiguing to use it but im prone to less mistakes with them.

uuuuh.. why does he have a knife next to his mouse O_o

  3. Robert Pearson on June 25, 2022 at 10:06 pm

I made the mistake of buying a Keychron K7. What I received was NOT wireless (no dongle included) and, when connected by USB cable, many keys did not work. Keychron ignored all my requests for an RMA and a refund.
Before buying anything from Keychron, think! Do you want to give your money to a company that treats its customers this way?

  4. Clapsaddle on June 25, 2022 at 10:07 pm

    I’m stuck at 200wpm.

  5. Kye on June 25, 2022 at 10:09 pm

As a fast typist, I have always used a chunky keyboard. I could not type even half as fast on the slimline versions that became popular.

  6. Matt Glynn on June 25, 2022 at 10:09 pm

Brilliant video, im addicted to that site now. im only at 35WPM ๐Ÿคฃ

  7. cleverest on June 25, 2022 at 10:10 pm

So we end up with the Apple Magic KB giving the fastest results, but it feels like ass typing on it. Go Figure.

  8. Idk on June 25, 2022 at 10:12 pm

Why do you just have a knife on your desk

  9. Gunbir Singh on June 25, 2022 at 10:13 pm

can you send me the one you not using?

  10. patrick Wall on June 25, 2022 at 10:13 pm

I’m confused as to how FastFingers calculates the number of words per minute. for example the speed test for the Razer Pro Type came in at 141wpm, but then it shows 134 correct words and 4 wrong words, which adds up to 138 words, where do the other three words come from?

  11. BALAKOP on June 25, 2022 at 10:14 pm

the fastest wpm is 220 or 350 i think so because i have watched a video

  12. Some Guy on June 25, 2022 at 10:16 pm

problem wiht the mechanical keyboards to me seems the height of the keys. i have a logitech k780 for not so long now, and i might not type so fast, but the rate of mistakes is just tremendously lower. you hit what you mean to hit.

  13. ich-nix-name on June 25, 2022 at 10:17 pm

can you test writing with the roccat vulcan 122 aimo

  14. Dennis Marquez on June 25, 2022 at 10:20 pm

I just tried that website, and I was pretty shocked to see that I can do 124 WPM. Not bad ๐Ÿ˜… Never actually tested it before!

  15. OES 25 on June 25, 2022 at 10:20 pm

It’s quite weird that the MX Keys as a chiclet style board isn’t any faster than the mechanicals (like the Apple magic keyboard is). I found it to have the keys too widely spaced, or that the indentation in the somehow constrains the finger placement contra what is optimal for speed. I think having a chiclet style board is kinda pointless if its design is hampering the inherent speed advantage that the lower actuation distance is supposed to have, which makes the MX Keys not worth its price IMO. Sadly, there are few decent options for PC out there. The MS Surface Keyboard springs to mind. (Surface laptop keyboards actually have a reputation for being among the best). But I can’t stand a large number pad on the right, so then the only decent option I can think of is the MS Designer Compact, which is a no-frills boring plastic board. But at least it does the typing job itself better than the other fancy boards out there…

  16. MrCellissimo on June 25, 2022 at 10:20 pm

Very interesting video. What is your opinion/experience with ergonomic keyboards? Wouldn’t it help with typing speed and above all prevent fatigue (which leads to slowing down)?

  17. Robert Crowder-Zink on June 25, 2022 at 10:22 pm

Iโ€™d be interested to see you ,as a writer, to try out different types of mechanical switches (tactile, clicky, linear, low profile) and different styles of key cap profiles to see how that changes typing speed, feel, and experience. Like if you prefer penguins with KAT keys or ink blacks with OEM profiles (random examples) thereโ€™s just so many factors like switch actuation points and travel distance, key shape and wobble, layout. Iโ€™d value your viewpoints in contrast to the gamers and coders.

  18. Richard Davis on June 25, 2022 at 10:23 pm

Low profile K1 blue switches is great

  19. Daniel Gomes on June 25, 2022 at 10:25 pm

Mechanical keyboards aren’t about speed, they are about feeding and aesthetics.
The magic keyboard is fast because the keys are low and light to the touch. Great for speed, terrible for feel

  20. Anthony Mikinka on June 25, 2022 at 10:26 pm

I knew the apple keyboard was the move

  21. Aj Matias on June 25, 2022 at 10:27 pm

oml he has a kitchen knife on his desk!

  22. Tuan Anh Do on June 25, 2022 at 10:28 pm

(copy) I personally think feel and lack of mistakes are easily as important as raw speed when it comes to overall productivity. My favorite typing experience is without a doubt the IBM Model M or one of the modern buckling spring descendants from Unicomp (who operates the old IBM keyboard factory in Kentucky). Absolutely wonderful keyboards, if a bit ugly.

Sales Moghuls’ approve this message. We’re big fans, Ali!

  34. Victor Perez on June 25, 2022 at 10:40 pm

Its all about familiarity IMO; you could get same speed with the other keyboards if you had use them for as long as you have used the Magic keyboard.

  35. Mars Hill on June 25, 2022 at 10:41 pm

Command + Backspace is a freaking hack! Thanks for the tip !!

  36. Tom Lue on June 25, 2022 at 10:43 pm

And here I am with a mode of 37 and a highest of 40 wpm.

  37. fotografiam on June 25, 2022 at 10:43 pm

I have old Logitech K230. I choose it because of low profile keys, and it’s really fast for typing. I wonder if mechanical keyboard with standard keys is good choice after than. I feel it would be problem, because of keys height.

  38. Lynne Connolly on June 25, 2022 at 10:45 pm

if you tried using the mechanicals without bottoming out, you might like them better. Use a tactile switch, or a blue one, and touch the key until you get to the bump or the click. You only need to press the key that far to actuate it. Bottoming out, hitting the key until it touches the bottom of the switch, is time-wasting and puts strain on your joints.

  39. katherine muirhead on June 25, 2022 at 10:46 pm

Have you tried the Azio retro compact keyboard itโ€™s a work of art.

  40. Political Memes on June 25, 2022 at 10:47 pm

  42. Goose on June 25, 2022 at 10:51 pm

This is very embarrassing, but i actually thought i was a fast typer, but moving from MX Keys to Keychron K2V2 made me realise, how slow I am! ๐Ÿ™‚ Tried to do a typing test on both keyboards, and realised i ain’t so fast at all.

  43. Samurai knight on June 25, 2022 at 10:53 pm

Your videos inspired me and I am just a 9 year old boy and my highest speed reached is 73 words per miniutes

  44. Amarjith C K on June 25, 2022 at 10:54 pm

  45. ela dub on June 25, 2022 at 10:54 pm

Types 80 WPM. Then adjust’s typing test to omit punctuation.
Types 100 WPM. Then adjust’s typing test to omit capital letters and special characters.
Types 120 WPM. Then adjust’s typing test to omit numbers.
Types 130 WPM. Then adjust’s typing test to omit any difficult or long words.
    Reaches 156 WPM – success!

Hi mr. Abdaal, great video! You mentioned having 8 the same keyboards, with different switch types. Which switch do you like the most? Is there much difference? Thanks!
