GE Slate Appliance Finish Review – 4-7 Months Of Use
A popular question is how the finish on our GE slate appliances is holding up, especially with the amount of use and abuse a large family can put on things. The simple answer is wonderfully but I don’t expect anyone to take my word on it so see for yourselves. I will be back in another 6 months or so to show how they’ve co to use to hold up.
Is slate just like a matte gray or is there a greenish tint to it?
Do you still like this line now that its been longer? Looking to purchase. having trouble deciding between slate and black slate.

I have the whole set of GE SLATE appliances. The slate finish near top of the electric stove/oven near knobs has worn through to the black base coat. Probably from my over zealous cleaning with a scrub sponge. Any ideas on how to cover that up to the original slate color? It is less than three years old and I rarely even cook. It is driving me crazy to have all the other perfect shiny appliances and this one 2” flaw! Thank you in advance
Hi i was wondering how is that compressor sound you mentioned in your fridge review coming along? My wife and I are considering buying the full suite of GE black slate finish appliances from Home Depot in the next 30 days, but the sound from the compressor you mentioned has me stalling and possibly reconsidering going with the Samsung black stainless instead. I was curious about the fingerprints. You answered that in a previous comment. Great! My next question is about the dishwasher. We have a KitchenAid stainless dishwasher and it shows what I think are moisture streaks up and down the length of the door. They are hard to clean. It drives my wife crazy. Do you have any streaking or moisture marks appearing on your dishwasher door?
I have this color and I think it’s horrible. The surface gets very dirty looking and if you use any kind of cleaner on it, it will stain it. I have scratches on mine. I’m not sure what this woman is taking about.
They are beautiful and go very well with your kitchen.

Does your fridge match the rest of your Slate appliances? We just received our set from Home Depot and the fridge is noticeably darker.

I keep seeing reviews of how noisy the frig is. When your house is very quiet, are the frig sounds at all irritating? We’re re-doing our kitchen and I don’t care for stainless steel, and black or white might be too harsh. Slate is one of the last options for us, lol.
Great video. We have these appliances too. I have a question, how to you clean the back of the stove? Is the only part that I don’t know how yo clean to dont scratch the slate.

Thanks for the review!…I bought stainless appliances 5 years ago……and I hate them because they show every fingerprint, smudge and water mark. There are only two of us in the house and I could clean them every day!!! I was thinking of getting rid of them and going to the slate finish. I watched your review but you didn’t mention finger prints. Is the slate finish good for not showing prints?

We purchased slate fridge, stove, and dishwasher. Our stove and dishwasher sit side by side and there seems to be a difference in colour….dishwasher is darker/greyer and stove is lighter/bronzer….has anyone else noticed slight colour distortions? Also, how do you get the water to not "pool" on clean dishes….not sure if our dishwasher is getting hot enough to dry? Thanks. Appreciate your video.

Would you say that this slate color has a bronze tint to it? I can’t decide on which color to get (do not like stainless steel or black stainless). I was thinking black slate until I saw this slate color. My cabinets will be dark wood, light countertops, bronze fixtures. Thanks!
