When you already have an external mic, it might be better to get headphones

  2. Raiden on May 25, 2022 at 8:30 pm

xtrfy h1 or hyperx cloud 2 with wicked cushions?

  3. Brooker G on May 25, 2022 at 8:31 pm

I wanted a studio pair without a mic because I have a microphone itself and I didn’t know if it would work with a mic already on the headset and trying to use it with a mic

  4. Lukas Pobereznij on May 25, 2022 at 8:31 pm

I genuinely need help šŸ˜€ , I had Arctis Pro Wireless which were amazing and ticked all the boxes, but I wanted to upgrade to studio headphones, So I got DT 990 Pros and Sound Blaster GC7 AMP/DAC, after having it for 3 days I just don’t feel like DT990’s are giving out enough sound for my liking, Arctis Pro Wireless were much louder, and had clearer sound with EQs applied, I’m not sure to either keep 990’s or get rid of them, I need some recommendation from person that used them both and has experience from what they sound like with a different DAC

  5. Pobbatron on May 25, 2022 at 8:32 pm

All I want one day is a wireless open back headphone or headset like maybe wireless DT990 pros

Anyone have any recommendations for a nice wireless studio headphone setup? I’m looking to move away from gaming headsets in general for some great sound, just can’t stand wires though

  10. Spawn and Batman on May 25, 2022 at 8:41 pm

Got the dt990 pros combo with Antlion Audio ModMic with the Sound BlasterX G6. Amazing quality over my hyper x clouds. Dont get me wrong. Hyper x makes amazing budget friendly gaming headsets but I needed a seperate headset for my living room to play console. This new setup is for my pc. Escape from tarkov here we come.

  17. Etency on May 25, 2022 at 8:51 pm

Here’s what I learned… to NOT buy a "Gaming Headset" from a Headphone manufacturer (-cough- Sennheiser)… I had terrible experience with their GSP 301 (budget/low end). They were ~120 ā‚¬. The Mic was Great, Sound was good… but damn the plastic cracked on both sides of the headband (resulting it also not holding the size adjustment) and also the earcups seams tore open (both sides on the inside). All that in less than a half a year. I haven’t even used them anywhere away from my desktop. This was the Bad-kind of "Made in China" levels of assembly/material quality. Very disappointed with them. Me personally will probably not buy a single Sennheiser for the rest of my life.

  18. big noob on May 25, 2022 at 8:53 pm

Depending if i’m listening to music or not i would use gaming headset or not. But regardless hesuvi plugins really make gaming headset sound almost us good.

I used to sub to you years ago when you only had a couple of hundred. I stopped subbing because my interest was mostly photography then. Now Iā€™m back into my gaming, you just came up and I want to say Iā€™m so pleased to see your grind has paid off

i got a ā‚¬15 studio headset which has 6 meter of wire but they sound GREAT.

  25. Mongo on May 25, 2022 at 9:03 pm

Ok people let tell what ohm really are. First when it come to basic electric circuits you have amps(current) , voltage and ohm. Ohm is the resistance to the current that means that you need to have over 250amps to get the headset working. This is great for audio for reason that i dont know enough put now you have a basic understanding of the ohms. Voltage is pure power

  26. BeatWrecker on May 25, 2022 at 9:03 pm

Additionally; get a 6.35mm splitter and plug into both left/right channels.

Rip my rig 500’s after over 3 years and some soldering theyve died the right speakers gone and the mic cable has gone nuts. Time to replace them i guess

  32. Tyson Wallis on May 25, 2022 at 9:06 pm

You’re at least five years late to this conversation. Ten or so years ago, the difference between the BEST gaming headphones on the market and Audio Technica M50s ($100 at the time) were literally night and day. All aspects were better for $100. This caused the conversation to expand into gaming headphones vs. normal headphones. Companies that made headphones started making gaming focused headphones, and this cause the entire gaming headphone industry to push for sound quality. About five years ago, some companies had REALLY solid gaming headphones in terms of sound quality. Now, some gaming headphones are actually very high quality headphones. Audeze Mobius took that to planar nearly four years ago now. I’d go with the Penrose over every gaming headphone I’ve heard because it is a legit planar can with its own solid AMP. It’s a real headphone setup. The conversation isn’t gaming vs. real headphones anymore. It’s more about what features do you want now.

  33. dl1151 on May 25, 2022 at 9:06 pm

Man I’m glad I found this, I’ve been looking around at a bunch of headsets on both sides. I’m three months deep and haven’t come to a conclusion. I’m currently replacing my corsair virtuosos

Or, as far as the Switch (after version 13.0) goes, all of them work, but with caveats ahoy

My Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 headset just broke on me today. The earcup twisted and snapped off when I was putting them on. Might try the M50x now since they are the same price and I don’t have to worry about charging my headphones either.

  39. E on May 25, 2022 at 9:18 pm

Iā€™m looking to get away from gaming headsets, and getting a yeti, and good quality headphones because Iā€™m looking to use my pc for recording as well as gaming.

My question is, do headphones have the capability of delivering directional sound, like certain gaming headsets?

If so, which headphones would you recommend?

  40. Splixtt on May 25, 2022 at 9:18 pm

Personally i had a bad experience with the steelseries arctis pro they broke in a year and a half of getting barely used but i did order the DT 990 PROs just to test out the whole studio wave people are hopping on. If you see this could you test the steelseries gamedac with the 990 PROs my headset will be here in a week and idk if the gamedac will work or if i need a different amp

  41. RuthlessRogCBD on May 25, 2022 at 9:18 pm

Perfect! I woke up sayin i need a new headset. This go around i wanna be more thoughtful in my pick. This was awesome since i deal with gaming and video/audio mixing too.

  42. Thunder Kat on May 25, 2022 at 9:19 pm

The extra durability just pay for the extra price, but you do need to buy a microphone to go with the none-gamming headset…
At the end of the road I do see gamming headset catching up with studio quality standards.
Micro-circuit getting smaller, small-capacitors becoming more affordable and powerful…they will get there eventually.
Mid-range gamming head-set are kind of trash compare to low-end studio headset but the price and convenient is undeniable.
At some point you get older and going for quality has to become a thing, life is too short to cut budget on something so meaningful to your audio experience.

  45. Just Seven on May 25, 2022 at 9:20 pm

Beyer Dynamics DT 990 PRO’s are the staple for music production, podcasts and monitoring. You can’t even argue that. There’s a reason why so many people are using them (even WAY before Ninja did). It’s the same with DJ headphones Sennheiser HD 25’s, look at every DJ’s head and see what he’s wearing. No flashy RGB, no flimsy shit plastic, no gimmicks. If you want sound – you go to sound oriented companies. Pure and simple. Gaming headsets are jacks of all trades and masters of none.

  46. snappish nest447 on May 25, 2022 at 9:20 pm

I use a sound blaster g6 for my ps4..cuz the audio sounds very low..and I like it loud…and I have alot of sets…but some are audio and they sound good with a dac amp..but I would only use on ps4 cuz their audio from the controller sux…

  49. Head_Hunter on May 25, 2022 at 9:23 pm

as a 2 year user of the arctic pros, idk but there kinda garbage in the build quality, and i have a lot of bugs with them, for example they like to turn off and on randomly, they crackle all the time and if u use them well charging good luck, and don’t come at me about oh its just that one u got, nope this is my second one because i thought the same thing, which is why im watching this video to move off from them, though i can confirm 1000/10 audio, when the audio works

  50. FuckPutin on May 25, 2022 at 9:27 pm

I always wondered what makes gaming headsets "gaming headsets".
Initially I thought they had better soundstage, imaging and less delay.
Now I know they are just a giant cash grab with 90% gimmicky features and comparably bad sound.
