"TJ", Thank you so much! I am a fan of free! But, this is not only free, it is software that can put to good use. You are a great teacher; thorough in your explanations and illustrations. Amazing! I am a novice and happy to finally experience something that works well for me, hence the multiple exclamation points. Thanks again…

If you are doing non-vector illustrations, Krita is one to consider.

This is just superb, been searching for "online ebook creator free" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried – Ronaflee Singular Remedy – (just google it )?

It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to create ebooks easily without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend got cool success with it.

I really enjoyed your video but was wondering do you know any software out there that would allow me to actually write as if I’m using a virtual chalkboard? I am a number of students on Zoom and I teach Hebrew. And I need a software that would allow me to show students on Zoom how to form letters and write basic sentences in Hebrew. Now so far I’m using Paint and my mouse but because I don’t have a grip on my mouse like I would with a pen the letters come out looking funny and it is even harder to write sentences. Any suggestions for a software that would allow me to form letters and sentences as if I would be using a chalkboard in a class? Also, would that software allow me to collaborate with students so they can show me how they write and I can see it so if I give them a quiz I can see how they are writing and correct them on the spot if they make a mistake?

    Manuskript
    Quoll Writer

    also

  32. Lucy Rodrigues on December 23, 2020 at 11:49 pm

Great video, I would love if you could make a series of video tutorials about an open source software for writers called Manuskript, it’s in early development but it’s simply awesome, it’s inspired on Scrivener and has many great features. I’d love to see it becoming more popular cause I think many writers will love it too. God bless open source 🙂 Cheers!

  33. Open Source Artist on December 23, 2020 at 11:52 pm

Never heard of Storyboarder! Great find. Writing this comment on Ubuntu 19.10 (after switching from Windows 10). Keep it up dude.

  34. 813 South on December 23, 2020 at 11:52 pm

I was wondering why you wouldn’t recommend Twine. It is a easy writing tool and has a flow chart when you write. You can also make things interactive if you want. If you have never tried it I would love for you to do a video on it.

  35. Michael Pless on December 23, 2020 at 11:53 pm

There’s actually a few good applications around for novel-writing. Manuskript is getting better all the time, and oStorybook has a lot to offer (not least that it allows for editing to be in LibreOffice. Bibisco is also very, very good. I’ve tried most though, and invariably gravitate back to WriteItNow! for its feature set and overall ease of use. WIN is not free, but I think it’s worth the price. Unlike Bibisco and oStorybook, it allows for easy movement between parts of a novel. I do use Inkscape when I’m making a map of a location or area. And if I was looking to write a script – and I’m thinking more and more that I should – then Trelby would be hgh on my list of "gotta try this."

  36. Mohammed Atabo on December 23, 2020 at 11:55 pm

Inkscape seems great. But what software do you think is good for to embed an epub on your website so your readers can read online

  37. Nirav Savaliya on December 23, 2020 at 11:56 pm

I’ve been needing/wanting to get a book together, and i have been thinking about Inkscape to create pdfs, but I see LibreOffice would most likely work better for me. Thanks so much. I’ll be visiting much of your content 🙂

I’ve recently been kicking around an idea for a story, and these resources will be invaluable to me. Aside from Inkscape (which I’m plugging along with thanks to your tutorials), I had no idea these others existed. Thank you for always keeping us in the loop of "free"-dom. 😁🖤

  45. Arnab Mukherjee on December 24, 2020 at 12:03 am

have you already covered LibreOffice Draw as an authoring tool?

  46. Minkyung Kim on December 24, 2020 at 12:03 am

Yes, your video is always informative and helpful! Thank you!!!!

  47. Wilson T on December 24, 2020 at 12:04 am

How do we know all the software featured is virus free?

  48. Aisling Rose on December 24, 2020 at 12:05 am

I use Trelby, which is great, but I’m not an artist so a lot of the other programmes weren’t that applicable to me. Could you do a video on story planning tools? From story boarding, to plot planning, apps to keep you motivated to a word count… stuff like that. Great video anyway, I’m sure it’s useful to a lot of people 🙂

  49. Holgi Eselchen on December 24, 2020 at 12:07 am

    And where is Scribus? 🤔

  50. Ahmed Shubbar on December 24, 2020 at 12:08 am

How about Sigil for EPUB editing.
