The Motorola Moto G had 4.4.2 for months and this week got 4.4.3. So no, it does not have 4.3 anymore. I think the US version got 4.4.3 faster than some of the Nexus devices.
In a unlocked phones list the Moto G should be #1, #2 and #3 because it also has a LTE version and a dual-sim version!

The moto g has an lte version doesn’t it? And the HTC one m8 camera kinda sucks, I think out of everything on this list, the nexus 5 should’ve still been number 1. It has a good camera, and they both have nice unibody designs, and 1080p screens. The only advantage of the M8 is probably the front facing speakers, but is that worth more than double the price?

You’re right about the Z2, except you’re not. It actually is very easy to track in the US if you’ve ever heard of Amazon and it is less than $700.

There is a 4G LTE variant of the Moto G however it only comes in North American at the moment, only support 4G LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 17 (1900, 1700, 850, 700 MHz) but weirdly, it also supports all 5 mainstream bands for 3G UMTS/HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz) wheres the 3G only US GSM Moto G only support 850, 1700, 1900 MHz and the Global GSM model only support 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz. However, do you really need LTE, HSPA+ Also, as a bonus, the Moto 4G has expandable storage upto 32GB. Anyway, if I was buying an unlocked phone for travelling overseas with, I would probably go with either a Moto G vairant or the Moto E due to their low cost, epecially if it will only get used a few weeks out of the year, sure that camera’s mediocre at best but if will probably be fine for those social media pics of strange food and lounging by the pool and your vacation photos really deserve better than a smarphone camera. However, if shopping for a daily driver, the Nexus takes first prize in my opinion. Yes, the M8 looks better, has expandable storage and all those duo camera features but the 32GB Nexus is only $400, add in a wireless HDD and you’ve got upto 2TB of extra storage for media.

I think it’s odd to call the Nexus 5 camera bad and the M8 camera good. I would call the N5 camera average and the M8 camera awful. It doesn’t even produce colors properly.
Add in that the n5 has optical stabilization whereas the M8 doesn’t (some of you will attempt to say that it does, but it doesn’t as is apparent on any video taken with the M8. If it does have it, it doesn’t work) and your judgment gets even weirder.
