If I’m not mistaking this soundbar 7.1.4 is just 700w too low for a 7.1.4 to deliver a quality solid and punchy audio. Only the subwoofer is good in this combo.

But it looks nice, between this and the Q90r hw I think LG is better.

Hi carl how are you doing today? I hope that u are enjoying CES today.
This is Alexandr Frund. I really would like you to ask Samsung Booth if they plan on adding Film makers mode and IMAX Enhanced to their 2019 & 2020 Qled TVS?

Hi tell LG to make the rear speakers as a separated pair to buy to update the older version as well like the LG SL10 9 or 8 series that would be awsome !

  7. Fabian Denswil on December 21, 2020 at 12:41 am

Do the rear upfiring speakers become available for older LG dolby atmos enabled Soundbars?

Batman v Superman isn’t the right film for audio demonstration, The sound design is ugly.

I bought the LG sn9yg (from Abt), I read good reviews on it but was very disappointed. I connected with HDMI (connected to LG C9) and still wasn’t impressed at all. The bass is weak and doesn’t do a good job of making you feel the immersion you’d expect while watching action scenes. The rear speakers (bought separately) were almost completely silent and the atmos sound from above was non existent. I tried for hours, different settings and videos with no luck. It was a good basic soundbar but almost nothing as far as atmos. It’s close to $1k, performance wise it should cost $300 to $400. I debating on trying the JBL 9.1 system next, if anyone has any recommendations I’d love your input.

Definitely the tamest release I have seen. Impressive output no doubt, but the likes of vizio have some interesting offering and I really don’t see this as a huge step outside of the rear high and 700 and something watt output (which is frankly quite rediculous/ superfluous for most attached homes or apartment’s, but I guess the sound has to be seen, rather heard, to be believed first. Otherwise it’s the usually marketing speak and reading off the spec list. I just wish places like CES would offer proper sound booths for this kind of thing before releasing it and expecting the consumer to just go along with it as though it’s the best thing ever.

Dolby Atmos this Dolby Atmos that, I think people should be made aware if you buy any kind of Dolby Atmos soundbar or AV/receiver to use through streaming you need to get yourself at least £1,000 TV (lg OLED 2017+ or other brand oled makers 2018 or newer) the only other option to receive Dolby Atmos would be through a Blu-ray player!  and I don’t think most people want to start buying discs!
The industry should be better regulated so people are not miss-informed or missguided,
By far the most crucial aspect in a audio soundtrack no matter what movie you are watching is the Way It Is ‘mastered’, regardless what decoding you’re using PCM, Dolby d, Dolby d + or even Dolby Atmos!!!
Click on the red dragon twice to hear/see what 2-channel audio sounds like.!!!

No videos at all about this soundbar. Given how many phones and media is at CES with video recording, how isn’t there a demo video anywhere
