There is a problem with your BGG Top 10.
While all of those games can be played with 6 players, some of them are hardly really recommended at 6 players.

    E.g.
    Eldritch Horror max 4 players
    Viticulture max 5 players
Even though >50% do recommend to play it with 6 players it’s still >40% who dont. Thats a huge number.

    Edit:
    Even if it’s…
    0% best
    50.1% recommended
    49.9% not recommended
…BGG defines that player count a recommended. IMO thats a huge miss.
A game should only be recommended if there is at least the same number voting for "best" as for "not recommended".
I have my own file in which I give 2pts for best, 1pt for recommended, 0pts for not recommended….weighted with the actual number of votes.
    >= 0.7 means only recommended for fans and in lots of cases the solo-mode is already good
    >= 1.0 means recommended
    >= 1.5 means great

7 Wonders is a good example where all player counts 3-7 have >1.0, 4-5 players even have >1.5.
Eldritch Horror has a lousy 0.65 with 6 players, Viticulture 0.62.
Power Grid has a 1.04 with 6 players so thats still in range.

Medici, Sidereal Confluence, Decrypto, Age of Steam, Texas Showdown. Haven’t played but should be on everyone’s list: Dune and TI 4th ed. 😛

  3. Scyld Scefing on December 23, 2020 at 11:07 pm

I like Mission Red Planet, Shadows Over Camelot, and Jamaica are excellent at 6.

  4. Tyler Patterson on December 23, 2020 at 11:08 pm

Great picks! Ethnos, Sagrada w/ 5&6 player expansion, 7 Wonders, and Tiny Towns would make my list.

I’d be interested in top ten solo games, storytelling games, or horror themed games (for Halloween) if you haven’t done those already. I also get the most out of lists of underrated games, so maybe you could mix up the format a bit and look at games you love that BGG doesn’t love so much. And finally, just looking at the advanced search options on BGG, could you do a list of favorite games you don’t own? Might be hard to query on the BGG side, but possibly look at highly rated games where the majority of people rating them highly don’t also own them? Just some ideas. Also, Dune should totally have been on this list. 😉

How can you not like TI4, it has everything! It’s an event to play it. When I have a game planned, I look forward to it with childish glee every minute of the day. It usually feels like it ends far too quickly when the day finally arrives 😄

Dominant Species is fantastic, though I have never played with at 5-6. I am likely going to sell my copy, as I am going to buy Dominant Species: Marine. Though it will only play 2-4, it seems like it’ll be more streamlined.
For a heavier game with 6 players, I’d go with Scythe mayhap. Turns are generally quick, and you can do your secondary action on the bottom of your board while the next person takes their turn.

Dune #1. It’s not even close.

how about top 10 bluffing/hidden role games next, have you guys done that??
since nowadays, people play among us so much that i kinda like the idea of traitor mechanic-theme in board games
    thanks.

    POINT SALAD! 😀

  11. Blake Morris on December 23, 2020 at 11:21 pm

Also good for 6 are Strozzi and Medici: The Card Game.

  12. John Jones on December 23, 2020 at 11:23 pm

Games where you have to have five friends? Oh well…

  13. Linus on December 23, 2020 at 11:24 pm

If you’re going to hate on TI4, you should at least show the correct game. All of your pics in this video show TI3; a much less streamlined and less attractive version of the game. In every game of TI4, there are deals, negotiations, alliances, threats, idle threats, bribery, payoffs, encroachment and / or possible ‘follow’ actions on each turn. I understand that most gamers will never play it, which makes it’s high ranking even more impressive. Anyone who complains about hanging with friends for 4-10 hours and playing a game is a cotton-headed ninnymuggins.

Top 10 party games (board/cards) and top 10 for beginner player pleasee 🤩

  15. Keindzjim on December 23, 2020 at 11:31 pm

What about a list on "2 player only" games?

  16. Brian on December 23, 2020 at 11:31 pm

A Game of Thrones is a game I will only play at 6. Not my favorite game but if you have a long time and don’t mind a backstabby game It works very well at 6.

  17. Odd Audio on December 23, 2020 at 11:32 pm

Deal or No Deal — the briefcase game show

  18. jbgandalf on December 23, 2020 at 11:33 pm

A 6 player list that doesn’t include Dune should be deleted. Try again.

  19. Lily J on December 23, 2020 at 11:37 pm

    Sagrada with expansion

  20. Gert-Jan Gybels on December 23, 2020 at 11:39 pm

Seriously? Such a list and not one mention of jamaica (with the crew expansion)?? It’s ludacris fun with 6 players… and rum, a lot of rum. But still!

  21. Kid Unleashed on December 23, 2020 at 11:41 pm

    BSG is best at 6.

  22. Guillaume Brunet L on December 23, 2020 at 11:44 pm

Great Top 10. Could you make one for other player count? solo, 2 or 4 maybe?

  23. Gabi Koonings on December 23, 2020 at 11:48 pm

What i want is 6-player Ticket To Ride maps.

  24. KabukiKid on December 23, 2020 at 11:53 pm

Actually, TI4 has everyone involved most of the time because you can follow actions (due to the Puerto Rico-ish action drafting), so if you think you wander off and watch The Simpsons for 1/6 of the game, you don’t really know how the game plays. Also, turns fly in this game. The turns where combats happen is when things slow down… and if you aren’t invested in watching a combat unfurl… even if you aren’t involved in it, then yeah… this isn’t your type of game. 😉 heh

  25. Harley Grattan on December 23, 2020 at 11:53 pm

Salem and Obscerio. Salem plays up to 12, it’s about finding the witches using cards. Obscerio is a coop game to try and escape rooms using pictures. A bit like Dixit and the house on the hill. Have you played these?

  26. Harley Grattan on December 23, 2020 at 11:57 pm

    Great choice for no.1.

  27. Rikhavok on December 24, 2020 at 12:01 am

This was a fun list to make albeit hosting the games I tend to play most, because our groups tend to be 5-6 players. Anyways here is my current list right now for
    games at 6 players-

10 Social Deduction games – I know – Kind of a Cheat. But there are way too many for me to pick a specific one.
    9 7 Wonders
    8 Downforce
    7 Zombicide
    6 Custom Heroes
    5 Revolution
    4 Lifeboats
    3 Libertalia
    2 Cosmic Encounter
    1 Ethnos
