  5. simplylife on December 29, 2020 at 12:41 am

This Video is an absolute disaster. You should change the name to best laptops for people that want to waste their money. Especially if they’re a students

  6. Sil Ver on December 29, 2020 at 12:42 am

The moment I saw the "fast typing" programmer, I already knew this video is not that accurate.

Edit: remove the "student" thing since no one will buy this shit just for doing a hello world program. I’m doing capstone project now in college and 4gb ram is enough. Heck I even coded VB net information mgmt system in visual studio using 2gb ram on my senior high days. And my cpu that time was intel pentium n3700.
I’d rather want to know more about the aspect ratio and keyboard feels. And waste a few more bucks for a larger monitor to have a dual screen. And no you don’t need the touch screen part

    Thank you

This isn’t really for students, this is for people who have businesses set up, and gain profit weekly.

  16. Raven Dickerson on December 29, 2020 at 12:50 am

It’s the guy who narrated my graphic design course

  17. Danbo on December 29, 2020 at 12:51 am

This review is so wrong on so many levels.

    1. This guy clearly isn’t a programmer
    2. The laptops he recommends are good for programming but they are also overkill and overpriced. Specially for students.
    3. None of the Pros of each machine have anything to do with programming per se.

As a programmer what you want is a decent screen because you will look at it over long period of time. You want a nice keyboard and decent performance (i3, ryzen3 + 8gb ram). Programming isn’t an intensive task most of the time you are just typing text.

You will compile code and run tests several times while having a browser with a couple tabs of documentation open and that’s about it.

Among the windows laptops out there you are looking at a $600+ laptop. If you want to make iOS/MacOS apps you will need a mac but YOU DON’T NEED A Macbook pro 16 inch. The entry level mac mini is your best option maybe upgrade the CPU to an i7 (optional!!). You can upgrade the ram yourself later. The base macbook pro 13 inch is a good option if you need something portable.

Finally you could also just build a PC which will be much cheaper.

I’m new to this topic so sorry for this question.

  39. Boom Ras on December 29, 2020 at 1:10 am

*Love how people that have absolutely zero knowledge when it comes to electrical engineering and/or circuit design opine on build quality.* To have the macbook 16 at the top of the list shows incredibly naiveté when it comes to these subjects. I guess it is easier to be a lemming and follow the crowd than actually get educated on the subject before informing others of your findings.

  40. InterMob on December 29, 2020 at 1:14 am

There is so much wrong with this video.
    • You don’t need the latest specs as a programmer
    • You didn’t even talk about keyboards
    • You don’t need a touchscreen, most of the time you have your hands on your keyboard.
    • Didn’t even talk about aspect ratios.
