Nice toaster!
That toaster is trash!!! I have had 2 & they both broke within a week. Buyer beware! One side of the the bread holder breaks so it is lopsided. The first was warrantied by the company. The 2nd I just decided to cut my losses.
Do you recommend a specific brand of spatulas?
Regarding the Ninja blender: It blends at an uncomfortable decibel that my ears hurt and my parrot in the next room was in shock and remained huddled and quiet the whole day.
3:10 – why does that toaster have "SMEG" written on the side of it?
Showing the Smeg toaster, that any Red Dwarf fans would find wildly amusing. 🤣
You girls are great. Awesome job.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for the mini processor review. Would you please give us the recipe for the garlic mayonnaise you made? It looks like a winner!
I learned the lard way not to butter my toast on, at or over a cutting board. Butter and wood, not a great combination.
I love an immersion blender for making Alfredo sauce and the sauce for mac and cheese. Forget grating! Cut the cheese into small chunks and let the heat and stick take care of the rest. Great for de-lumping gravy, too.
Some waffle makers have non-stick Teflon surfaces which are a health hazard. The Teflon leeches into your waffles. Only ceramic makers should be used.
I have the Cuisinart mini and I think chop spins the blade one way and grind the other, not 2 different speeds.
"The smartpower blade has a patented auto-reversing ability with a sharp edge for delicate chopping and pureeing soft foods, while the blunt edge grinds through spices and harder foods."
Just wanna go on the record saying I love Hannah’s hair in this episode, and the pastel top looks really nice ☺️
That first TINY bite on the toast cracked me up. Never apologize for a good BIG bite of your food! 😂
Ashley is working where now.
🤷🏿♀️Any suggestions for a good juicer?
Anyone else cringe when she started using the braun multiquick in the Le Creuset? That’s gotta cause damage….
Good girl, bite that toast❣️
10:34 I’ve wondered about making mayo using a raw egg. Do you cross your fingers and hope you don’t end up in the ER with Salmonella? Is there any better way, such as substituting something for that raw egg?
Forgot my favourite breakfast appliance, the panini grill. It makes better toast than a toaster: the outside of the bread is crispy while the inside stays moist (though it takes a bit longer). It´s also versatile: it can make grilled cheese, function as an electric grill for burgers or sausages, and of course make paninis. It cost me $30, and it has a permanent place on my counter.
Hi ATK, which air fryer is your WINNER? Thank you.
Sara Gilbert?
Thanks for a great video about appliances that give good bang for the buck. Do you have any thoughts on appliances that give good bang for the bulk?
I live in 1 Bedroom apartment with a tiny kitchen. What are the best appliances for the space they take up, particularly when cooking for one.
Great video as always! I want the Braun!
Great duo
I’d like to see a review of of the new batches of cordless cordless Appliances like emerging blenders and hand mixers. Although I do have the broad multi stick 6 I also have a new kitchen aid immersion blender which seems to work pretty well. About one year or so ago I purchased a kitchenaid cordless hand mixer. I bought it mainly because I do a lot of food bread food prep and being a guy I like anything electric or mechanical to do the work. I honestly did not have high expectations tations but the more I use the cordless hand mixer the more I love it. I bought the extended warranty from target so I really I really put it through its paces especially this past holiday season. I figured if it broke I wouldn’t care because target would just replace it for free and it would also give me an idea of what it’s Max limitations limitations are for the future. I have a couple other very good and very powerful hand mixers mixers from both Kenmore and kitchenaid But I honestly can’t remember the last time I pulled one of the other ones out because the cordless cordless guy is always ready to go and has plenty of torque to get through every every medium to large batch of cookie dough oh and other batters I thrown at it. I don’t think on its highest speed speed it goes anywhere near as fast as the Corded Models but Again it does pretty well and has a lot of torque.
Cons: The Nija bullet type blender is too-too-too NOISY for the morning! The Air (Frier) Convection Oven is too bulky for storage. Manual Rotating cone slicers, Salad King/Master, is easy and safe to use for slicing potatoes, shredding cheese and vegetables, with easy clean up, storage, and quiet operation.
Appliances… yes I have a toaster and a stick blender. Do I need more? Nope.
FYI Belgian waffles were the signature food item of the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair
Just a word of caution I would avoid long slot toasters sold at Ocean State Job Lot. I bought a long slot Century beand toaster at Ocean State Job Lot. The only thing I don’t like about it is that when the toast comes up it’s sometimes gets hung up on the edge making it difficult to remove. It also lacks a Bagel setting I’d avoid the identically styled standard size model as well.
I just want that Le Crueset.
Hannah you started it so now we need the full ‘Toaster’ story. it has to be good! LOL
I love watching these two lovely lady’s.
So appreciate your extensive testing and practical recommendations. I really rely on your opinions. Thanks so much!
The best thing ATK ever recommend I buy is the Breville Bit More toaster. That thing is epic and I never thought I’d feel so ok with spending so much for a toaster. lol
Actually if the truth be told, the Belgian Waffle was introduced in the US at the Century 21 Seattle World’s Fair, in *1962*.
🅰️➕ Information!👍🏿
Braun makes really good stuff. I recently picked up a KitchenAid immersion blender for less than the Braun and I’m quite happy with it. $45? at Wal-Mart. Powerful, good shape, single larger button with a speed switch. Detent wand release rather than buttons. Cord is long enough. The cup has recently been redesigned to eliminate the separate guard. I recommend the newer design.
The trickiest bit for me when pureeing soup etc is judging how much to set aside before blending so as to end up with the texture I want.
My Dash toaster was a POS and I ended up pitching it. The buttons never worked and the bread carriage was always jamming.
On April 21, 1962, Belgian waffles make their American debut at the Seattle World’s Fair. The waffles, which are fluffier and lighter than regular waffles, are served up with strawberries and cream by chef Walter Cleyman at two stands, one of which resembles a small chalet.
I am going to buy that Toaster since I live a lone and I would find it more rewarding to watch my Bread being toasted than watching paint dry. After hearing the word Quadrant used during a Waffle maker demonstration plus Cardboardy …. Hannah will you marry me, and anyway I can get a cameo walking in the hallway background…. ?
It’s hilarious to me that what is just bread in Europe is called artisan bread in the USA.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Loved this!! Thanks so much!!
I love the Cuisinart food chopper and have the rounded base version. I’m on my second one as my first one, the lid fell onto the floor and the lock interconnect tab on the lid broke off and no replacements for either the lid or bowl were available, so bought the essentially same style, but in red. Great for small jobs that are not big enough for the 11 Cup Cuisinart.
Got the white one in I think 2006 for Christmas and have used it quite frequently since and got the red one last fall.
I have the lower end Cuisinart stick blender and like it, but may consider getting a better one down the line with the detachable wand and be more comfortable to use. Picked it up at TJ Maxx a few years back, in red no less as a way to try out, and if I didn’t like, I can give it to the GoodWill and not cry over it as I think I paid all of $20 for it.
My toaster is the Cuisinart basic white 2 slice toaster and it’s way better than the red Oster toaster that was not really reliable and finally it burnt my toast to a smokey crispy black as it would not pop up when it should. Replaced by end of day with the Cuisinart.
Being all Cuisinart was mostly coincidental, BTW.
I love how angry Hannah gets about toast. I feel that in my soul.
Thanks for the info. It really comes in handy.
Good Job
This girl is funny. I like her!
I LOVE THAT TOASTER. I use it all the time and it’s AMAZING. Little hack I do with that toaster is toast a tortilla to my liking (I love charcoal coloring barely stating to happen), take it out quickly and fill with cheese close it back to half and nuke for 20-30 seconds. It is so crispy and easy! The laziest fastest tastiest quesadilla – you’re welcome.
