You need to go back when everything is built.. The new Naim Turntable/Arm (made by Clearaudio designed by Naim) is said to be special..

  3. David Bailey on April 22, 2022 at 7:34 pm

Very good job Dave… can’t wait to see the finished product….
    Thank You.

  4. Life on April 22, 2022 at 7:35 pm

Stupid question, but why does those expensive turntables have 2 tone arms?

  5. Rick P on April 22, 2022 at 7:36 pm

  6. Pkats on April 22, 2022 at 7:45 pm

Wow good for Joe! Seems like he has a handle on things. Love that he is including room treatments and construction practices. If I’m ever in Jacksonville I will definitely stop by. Best of luck to him!

Just wanna go to the store and take a Giant Schitt. For me the smartphone has become the new Walkman. I remember as a kid how happy I was to get my first Sony Walkman with digital tuning and auto reverse. Here at 41 my mind is blown with what we have today. I remember my first stereo VCR and getting my first ever portable CD 💿 player. Man I feel old!! Love your channel. Keep talking Schitt brother!!

I couldn’t afford the first setup lol. But nice job and it seems like a legit operation.

I enjoyed this a lot it reinforced with me the value of used gear – jeez those prices!!! Might be the biggest reason shops like this went away!!!

  11. D G on April 22, 2022 at 7:57 pm

You will have to do a follow up on House of Stereo when they are done with expanding. Good job on giving the background on the rise and fall of Hi Fi equipment and the tour of House of stereo.

Thanks for shining the spotlight on this stereo /home theater shop. I’ll be at axpona this weekend. 👍

  13. AllboroLCD on April 22, 2022 at 7:58 pm

Good good stuff here! In a perfect world, I’d have the capital to open a small store and sell records/physical media as well as used gear/repairs. Maybe carry new stuff down the line, id lean towards affordable/modestly priced brands.

Wish this place was close to me. What a great concept!

  17. James Brown on April 22, 2022 at 8:04 pm

Why does all of Joe’s "S’s" have so much SIBILANCE to them that it has me instantly lowering the volume through my speakers??
Almost like some stupid high-pitched whistling sound.
Is it the $hitty camera that "My Own Devices" is using or an issue somewhere else?
    Otherwise…a nice and informative video.

This year, I’ve been in 100 houses $1m to $10m in the Tampa/St Pete area (installing appliances) and only 2 had hifi gear. One guy had B&W 700 series towers with vintage mono-block tube amps (sounded heavenly) and the other guy had Martin Logan 6 1/2’ers with 10" woofers and a 6′ x 5′ rack with Mac’s and Para’s, etc. Not many audiophiles out there, percentage-wise.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for the video! Love them!

  20. Its a Rome Thing Everyday on April 22, 2022 at 8:06 pm

I wish there was any kind of hifi audio places here, most of what I have picked up was from marketplace or other, Liked video alot, Thanks 👍

Wonder how he will address the glass in the theater room? Glass is the worst thing for speakers. Curtains? Better yet,
    activated carbon diaphragmatic absorbers?

  22. Len on April 22, 2022 at 8:07 pm

$26,000 speaker system, "holds it’s own?" I’m looking for a complete $395 , all in one, economy package.

  23. Michael Walker on April 22, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Thanks for taking us along for the trip, appreciate your effort. Hope this place is very successful.

  24. Snake Oil Audio on April 22, 2022 at 8:10 pm

btw we call it "T und A" – T and A not T plus A even though it is written this way 😉

  25. mrcocheese on April 22, 2022 at 8:12 pm

Other channels do these same videos. Even with a cell phone mic, they don’t sound as bad as this. Did you use a mic and set the gain too high gain or something. How on earth did you not hear the grating harshness and sibilance in this recording?

  26. Mike Day on April 22, 2022 at 8:13 pm

Purchasing a home with today’s inflation, does not leave much to spend on audio gear.

  27. Stephen Pidwell on April 22, 2022 at 8:13 pm

In the UK,I like richer sounds, always had good results.👍🏻🇬🇧

  28. jack turtle on April 22, 2022 at 8:14 pm

Nice to share with us Dave, one thing is sure you need a fair bit of money to go shopping there

this is fun, please updatw when they are done with the place 🙂

  31. Vinyl Rules on April 22, 2022 at 8:18 pm

Glad to hear the owner talk about the room. The room is the most important component in an audio system. Room treatment should be addressed BEFORE spending more money on equipment. IMHO, the room and its treatment is the most overlooked part of audio reproduction. It is obvious from looking at all the pictures and videos on YouTube and Facebook. Also speaker placement is crucial for soundstage. It is amazing to me how many people have their speakers up against the wall or have an audio rack between their speakers. Audio racks between the speakers kill soundstage.

  32. David Clayton on April 22, 2022 at 8:20 pm

Hey Dave, is it just me or am I just an old man holding on to the music of my youth? It seems to me today’s music wouldn’t benefit significantly playing high end audio equipment. You know, the old garbage-in-garbage-out thing.

  33. Jim Cabezola on April 22, 2022 at 8:22 pm

Amazing that a new retail space for stereo can even exist in these awful times… Hope you visit them when they’re all done with their construction. Please take us along, too!
