When Framework told me they were making a completely repairable laptop I assumed it would be a flimsy chonker… I’ve never been so happy to be wrong.

I went from an old dell inspiron n15101 that ran windows 7 originally after Microsoft dropped support I switched to XFCE Linux Mint. But it ran reliably for years compiling code was abit on the long side but it worked. Got a framework and spec’d it out my self with my own hardware and am very happy with it. I hope they get big and make waves in the Industry.

  2. Michael Villeneuve on February 26, 2022 at 11:52 pm

Framework deserves to go to the moon. Take off Framework, take off

  3. Idiots Of Tarkov on February 26, 2022 at 11:52 pm

i hope they make gaming laptop like this

  4. FM Mic on February 26, 2022 at 11:52 pm

999$ CAD starting price it is not bad at all for what it can do and it seems to go well bc they now ship within a week

  5. MediaRBLX on February 27, 2022 at 12:00 am

man, can’t i wait till i can just go to a library wait tiil some dude with a laptop goes to the toilet and steal a processor

  6. Pietro De Domenico on February 27, 2022 at 12:01 am

Very cool, I remember when Google had an idea for a similar product, but it was a phone, it was interesting because you could change pretty much everything, battery, screen, microphones, cameras, whatever you wanted.
    The project got cancelled. Obviously.

  7. amogh tyagi on February 27, 2022 at 12:03 am

This video gave me a clear view on the sheer grudge that linus holds against dell XD

  8. latrofu on February 27, 2022 at 12:03 am

    Needs an ethernet expansion card

  9. qwzerty_ on February 27, 2022 at 12:04 am

dont think ive ever seen him this happy before

  10. Simon Li on February 27, 2022 at 12:04 am

Not as thin as a MacBook tho

  11. Acuro on February 27, 2022 at 12:05 am

Why can’t they make the CPU and GPU removable /upgradable and not soldered to the motherboard ??

  12. James on February 27, 2022 at 12:09 am

This is really cool but it only really excels in allowing for easy repairs. It could be a great product if they also looked at the accessibility standpoint like having a braille or raised keyboard, or being able to swap out the keyboard entirely for an adaptive game controller. Bluetooth and NFC/RFID reader/writer expansion cards. Something similar to a touch bar on a Macbook. It’s a cool concept but it just seems like it’s too early to buy.

  13. Kjetil Torpe on February 27, 2022 at 12:09 am

I realy want to invest in stocks now

  14. Ali Aldawood on February 27, 2022 at 12:11 am

The framework laptop is not difference than any other laptop
Other than being able to upgrade the ram and change the bezels

I don’t want to hate on it. I personally love it. But it’s getting to much hype

  15. TheVigilAngel on February 27, 2022 at 12:11 am

would it technically be able to use electromagnetic ports to enable transfer, no ports, helps with "water proofing", as well as power said device. it is technically possible to charge magnets certain poles as well as switching if need more data transfer and/or charging

  16. ALTHDS on February 27, 2022 at 12:12 am

Magnetic type C cables are already available (though you’ll get a nub on the port) and i would buy that if my laptop charges through type C (i got one for my phone)

  17. Michael Villeneuve on February 27, 2022 at 12:17 am

Kinda wanna see a complete teardown just for fun.

  18. Jesus loves you on February 27, 2022 at 12:17 am

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

  19. Fiona Pang on February 27, 2022 at 12:18 am

Fhdkchdnsksbf THEY NEED A TRANSPARENT CASE IF THEY HAVENT… No not a protective case, like a transparent bezel so you can see the inside components

  20. SleepyMechanic on February 27, 2022 at 12:19 am

I want to also add if there is ANY concern about needing to buy other IO modules, they are 10-20 dollars CHEAPER than buying an adapter from the store!

  21. zimmahTV on February 27, 2022 at 12:20 am

It’s a bit sad they don’t offer any bigger screen sizes, and no option with a GPU.

  22. Stehen Waszak on February 27, 2022 at 12:22 am

linus whats up with that cracked phone you can afford millions of dollars in upgrades for pcs and not a phone case dissapointed

  23. Alex DeLarge on February 27, 2022 at 12:22 am

This laptop is for suckers. I bet the parts break down frequently so the company gets to charge you parts forever. It can’t possibly be a decent computer.

  24. BarryWaterlow on February 27, 2022 at 12:22 am

*It needs a larger touchscreen and more I/o ports and it would have a market with more users, particularly with those who run Hauptwerk software which requires 64 mega of RAM and a movable, upgradable computer.*

  25. Jack Walmsley on February 27, 2022 at 12:23 am

  26. Nathan Young on February 27, 2022 at 12:23 am

This is the coolest laptop I’ve ever seen and I only learned about it today

  27. Olivier Séguin on February 27, 2022 at 12:23 am

My next phone will be modular. My next laptop too. I HATE having to throw out phones every 2 years just because they start failing

  28. Tai lumis on February 27, 2022 at 12:26 am

Sorry but I would still prefer Macbook pro design. Central Trackpad and keyboard so much nicer to write tbh. The Design ist also, meh 17" and more boxy kinda like Asus zephyrus white one and a macbook air the speculated m2 design. would be awesome.

  29. dahveed R on February 27, 2022 at 12:27 am

    Did i miss the gpu?

  30. Wagner Felix on February 27, 2022 at 12:28 am

errrrrrrr… just memory, processor em graphic card upgradeable, would by nice… but these modules sounds dumb… idk…

  31. Elemental gaming on February 27, 2022 at 12:30 am

Can I connect an external GPU? Cuz that would be insane if you could

  32. Thunder on February 27, 2022 at 12:32 am

He’s like a kid on Christmas

  33. Flux Capacitor on February 27, 2022 at 12:32 am

only if there was a GPU option :/

  34. Michael Reid on February 27, 2022 at 12:33 am

Great idea the upgradable laptop. It’s on my list of where to buy the next one before I head to Dell.

Oh, and not all of us are US based. So offering free headsets kinda stink when it’s US based only. 🙁

  35. Nico Mendoza on February 27, 2022 at 12:34 am

Tech heads will appreciate, but the average consumer simply won’t care and would prefer to pay a premium for convenience

  36. TheFrantic5 on February 27, 2022 at 12:34 am

Even if Framework folds tomorrow, you still have a fantastic laptop and there should be some used parts on Ebay. Certainly more parts than Apple will provide.

I’m loving mine, though sadly the screen may be too much resolution for my poor eyes.

  37. FarmyardFab on February 27, 2022 at 12:35 am

I don’t need or want a laptop but I almost want to buy one anyway just to support the proliferation of products like this. 👍🏻

  38. Nateman1000 on February 27, 2022 at 12:36 am

This time, Linus is the sponser

  39. Bung Hole on February 27, 2022 at 12:37 am

Planned obsolescence is the name of the game

  40. Nathan West on February 27, 2022 at 12:38 am

have you ever looked at a lenovo thinkpad?
I have 2 of the 400 series, socketed(and upgradable) CPU, 2 memory slots, a few PCI slots for WiFi and stuff, one can be used for LTE or an SSD
the DVD drive can be replaced by a HDD case, or you can slot in an extra battery(one of 3 available battery pack locations)
got all sorts of ports on the laptop, and once you put it in a dock you can run 3 monitors with DVI, VGA or HDMI, get 10 USB ports and whatever

for 200$ you can pick one up in good condition, with dock and 2 power supplies, parts are still available

  41. Brendan White on February 27, 2022 at 12:39 am

Not sure what the deal is with some companies making hard to upgrade / repair. HP (Elitebok range) and Lenovo Carbon and T Series are all easy to get the back off and upgrade RAM or SSD’s.
Maybe Apple and Microsoft should learn from them. The HP’s are quite attractive, admittedly the Lenovos are a bit ugly.

  42. Jake Wynn on February 27, 2022 at 12:39 am

    My favorite LTT video

  43. Esther Batycki on February 27, 2022 at 12:39 am

Okay stupid question maybe – why do you want your laptop to have a touchscreen? What are you tapping on?

  44. Yash Kadel on February 27, 2022 at 12:40 am

my god soo much passion and thought has been put into the creation of this marvel wow

  45. patty109109 on February 27, 2022 at 12:42 am

  48. sparrow on February 27, 2022 at 12:48 am

What if they made this to where u could litterly just press down on anything on the bottom and pop it out and put a new part in there as a replacement

Litterly this but this is 1 and that is 10

  49. mohanty abhijit on February 27, 2022 at 12:50 am
