Tidal sucks! The desktop setup looks awesome. How i wish.

  2. Sean Heisler on November 25, 2020 at 7:12 pm

Ha ha, love ya, Josh, but Spendor is not an obscure speaker brand at all, brother! Hilarious. Founded in the 60s. Surprised you didn’t know these guys! I know you’re more of a headphone guy though, I give you a pass.

  3. Markus Schneider on November 25, 2020 at 7:14 pm

Joshua you neues to check the history of Spendor and you must listen to a pair of Spendor BC1 and LS 3/5A. BBC History and even history in Germany. BC1 active version with M50 amp for WDR (West german radio). Holy cockies. I still own BC1, SP1 and WDR BC1 active. I will never sell them. Please do yourself a favour and listem to a well working pair of BC1. You will be surprised. Warm regards.

  4. therustyspoke on November 25, 2020 at 7:16 pm

Tidal also supports MQA files…Check those out!

  5. Brian Froeber on November 25, 2020 at 7:17 pm

    Qobuz = Ko Buzz

  6. krellman7 on November 25, 2020 at 7:17 pm

You say that you feel you are really entrenched in the audiophile world? Watching this video you clearly are not! Some of your various comments throughout the entire make it clear you are a newbie. The setups featured are what one would refer to as nice. Would I consider any of them amazing? No!

  7. Trevor Crowe on November 25, 2020 at 7:17 pm

Tidal is definitely the way to go for audiophiles. Master quality is amazing.

  8. Franks Life Changes on November 25, 2020 at 7:19 pm

TIDAL is used because they offer the highest bandwidth streams around. I think its a great way to stream, just need a good DAC, amp, and speakers/headpohones and you can hear everything you wanna hear imo.

  9. Frédéric Bilodeau on November 25, 2020 at 7:20 pm

Great stuff man, keep it up ! 🙂

  10. elmhurst86 on November 25, 2020 at 7:20 pm

How can you be entrenched in the audiophile world and not have heard of Spendor? They’re right up there with PMC, Devore, Dynaudio, Avante Garde, Focal, Magico, Wilson Audio, ATC, YG Acoustics, Revel, ProAc and many others.

  11. Randolph the frog & jack on November 25, 2020 at 7:23 pm

I am very susceptible to Migraines and Headphones caused many headaches. I began following ‘in-ear’ phones to avoid the weight of over ear phones. I was amazed at the advancements made in this area over the past few years. I wound up with the Klipsch X 20i’s and I couldn’t be happier. Not the top of the line but very, very practical with extremely good sound.

  12. Brian Froeber on November 25, 2020 at 7:23 pm

I had friends ditch Tidal for Qobuz…

  13. Alexander Stefanov on November 25, 2020 at 7:23 pm

My setup is about the cost of all those put together, but my flac collection is 90%, shall we say not kosher…

  14. Mazwell96 on November 25, 2020 at 7:25 pm

he may have a schitt amplifier but my whole setup is schitt

  15. Coneman3 on November 25, 2020 at 7:26 pm

Aren’t Martin Logan speakers the best design? ie. Bass woofer and Electrostatic for mid/hi f.

  16. Chris P on November 25, 2020 at 7:26 pm

N.O.S. means new old stock. It’s not a brand. Spendor have been around quite some time. Thanks for the review.

  17. Northbound on November 25, 2020 at 7:29 pm

I love that Schiit has gone with all the Norse mythology names, cause I know how it’s supposed to be pronounced, (Cause I’m from Norway) and its really funny hearing all the Audiophiles from the US/UK try and say Schiit like Freya, or Ygdrasil 🙂 Some nail it others just blurs out Schiit. 😀 That’s some good Schiit..oh I have def bought the right merch..cause I just love the dad joke mentality 😀 (have recently bought a Modi3 and an Aasgard 3 amp) 🙂

  18. Jon Patrick on November 25, 2020 at 7:31 pm

You really have a lot to learn about all the equipment that’s out there.

  19. subaruxrxsti78 on November 25, 2020 at 7:31 pm

loocking forword for the streaming services comparation! god job.

  20. Always On on November 25, 2020 at 7:31 pm

can we use two subwoofer, left and right?

  21. Arijit Roy on November 25, 2020 at 7:33 pm

Love streaming services, i personally use Tidal Hifi and Qobuz. Sound quality is amazing especially if you have high-end gear. Best part I love from Tidal is the ability to discover new music based on the current playing song, have discovered so many new artists and albums through that!

  22. Stuart Longair on November 25, 2020 at 7:33 pm

Please include Amazon HD when you’re reviewing streaming services.

  23. mon pic on November 25, 2020 at 7:33 pm

i haven’t heard of Spendor speakers! mmmmmm

  24. Duarte Teixeira de Barros on November 25, 2020 at 7:34 pm

    These are great set ups

  25. Michael on November 25, 2020 at 7:35 pm

As a audio reviewer, I am amazed that you never heard of Spendor, a classic British speaker company….classic like Harbeth, Rogers, KEF, B&W. A couple (Spencer and Dorothy hence Spendor) started the company. The sound even better than they look. You owe it to yourself to find a dealer and give a listen…

  26. Alfred Berglund on November 25, 2020 at 7:37 pm

    Tidal is awesome

  27. John Lira on November 25, 2020 at 7:39 pm

Would I get better sound if I connect a tablet via rca to tablet than YouTube app from TV to receiver??

  28. jazzkatt 70 on November 25, 2020 at 7:40 pm

Observation: it appeared the first guy’s credenza dictated his speaker width placement for aesthetics.

  29. Lando Garci on November 25, 2020 at 7:41 pm

    Too bad tv is cockeyed

  30. Mike Coshan on November 25, 2020 at 7:44 pm

Really surprised you’ve never heard of Spendor they make some beautiful high end speakers here in the U.K. REL subs are indeed great and used to be made in wales but I think we’re taken over by an American company (though I may be wrong) I auditioned a REL stentor 2 while watching top gun & the F14 tomcats were taking off from my living room & making the house vibrate lol. (Not to mention my stomach)

  31. Barry Savage on November 25, 2020 at 7:44 pm

I love Tidal, use it every day.

  32. T.j. Bennett on November 25, 2020 at 7:45 pm

That first speaker setup is fire. There’s some definite knowledge going on there

  33. Jay'Von Ro on November 25, 2020 at 7:47 pm

I’m new to the audio scene…

If anyone could point me in the direction (besides title) to snag some flac files or any high fidelity music that isnt youtube music streaming on high bitrate…. Would be awesome.

  34. Charles Ferguson on November 25, 2020 at 7:48 pm

"Co-buz". "Co" rhymes with go," buz" rhymes with does. 😉

  35. Dave30867 on November 25, 2020 at 7:51 pm

Streaming services are not that great but if you do not own any music its ok .
But if you have a $ 10,000 plus system i think you would have a reasonable collection of Records and CDs .

  36. LiveInStereoDC on November 25, 2020 at 7:53 pm

I heard a pair of Paradigm Signature S8 towers with a Sunfire integrated tube amp once. Put me in another dimension.

  37. Tree- Of-Lies on November 25, 2020 at 7:55 pm

Aren’t those vac valves like $2k ea?

  38. Alex Stewart on November 25, 2020 at 7:58 pm

Joshua Fidelity, in all Truth , is what Only matters when listening…What vocal minority are you confused about though?

  39. marcelo munoz on November 25, 2020 at 7:58 pm

  40. Finnbogi Marinósson on November 25, 2020 at 8:00 pm

dude. Speaker wall is good ! Do you know what speaker units do when they sit next to a an active speaker ? They hummm along. Make sound ! Interfere with what the main speaker is trying to do …..

  41. Ray Newcomb on November 25, 2020 at 8:01 pm

    No turntables? WTF

  42. CeeStyleDj on November 25, 2020 at 8:02 pm

New subscriber here. LOL, I laughed when you stated that you have never heard of some of these companies. I myself have also been involved in electronics, technology and audio for a long time and it seems like no matter how many tons and tons of reviews and videos that I’ve watched, I STILL keep hearing about Brands and model names and numbers that I’ve absolutely never heard of! Lol.

And I keep telling myself, " the more you watch and read, the more you’ll catch on and these brands will start to sound familiar" but I keep hearing people talk about model numbers that I absolutely never heard – ever but they talk about it like everyone is supposed to know about them. Hell, maybe just people that work for a certain company or are affiliated and trying to promote that company. Hey, to each his own but I find the same thing happens to me as well. Very interesting.
I guess a positive take-away can be that there are more and more companies building audio and Hi-Fi equipment lately so that’s a good thing. Cheers.

  43. Northbound on November 25, 2020 at 8:03 pm

I’m looking forward to the time I can submit my setup, just starting out, but the music/whiskey corner sounded right up my alley:-D So will def do something like that:-D

  44. wharfedale moustapha on November 25, 2020 at 8:03 pm

    good

  45. Jason T on November 25, 2020 at 8:04 pm

  46. jb casalta on November 25, 2020 at 8:04 pm

  47. Edmund Dobry on November 25, 2020 at 8:05 pm

Yes please do media streaming sources, I will be in the need very soon, want the best quality for a reasonable price. Look forward to it.

  48. Julio Cubias on November 25, 2020 at 8:06 pm

Thanks very enjoyable and informative, looking forward to your review of music streaming services and comparisons, I currently use google music, but I am open to your findings.

  49. Online Alias on November 25, 2020 at 8:09 pm

I tried Tidal for a month earlier this year, and the audio quality was fantastic. It was noticeably better than Spotify in headphones and in my car. Its just expensive, so whether or not its worth it is up to you.

  50. Kunaal Khanna on November 25, 2020 at 8:10 pm

Tidal MQA is incomparable amongst peers. Even on bluetooth via LDAC on 1000xm3s the results are jaw dropping.
