10 awesome PSVR launch games (that require PSVR)

10 awesome PSVR launch games (that require PSVR)

Even though it might not be the most sophisticated, Playstation VR is the cheapest way to dive into virtual worlds. It’s priced 499 USD and that would include the mandatory camera and optional Move controllers. But what are the best launch games for the system? And we don’t mean games with a VR mode, but only the true VR titles!

EVE Valkyrie – CCP Games
EVE Valkyrie has been hailed from the start as one of the biggest games in VR and we could not leave this one out. Flying around in space, fighting other players, while you’re working hard to upgrade and customize your own fleet! The game has no online connection with the MMO, but it’s an amazing experience nonetheless to control your fleet from the cockpit and dominate the galaxy!

RIGS Mechanized Combat League – Guerilla Cambridge
There’s a lack of VR sports games, but when it comes to robotized combat RIGS is as close as it’s going to get. RIGS Mechanized Combat League could be the first VR E-Sports competition. This is a team based competitive game in which you need to destroy your opponent and score points. You could consider it a robot version of Rocket League, if you will.

SuperHyperCube – Kokoromi
SuperHyperCube is a very simple puzzle game made by Phil Fish and other creative developers. You need to drop a block in its right position. You earn more points by using less moves. The trick is to use VR and look around your block. This puzzle game gets super challenging, but its simple gameplay is what would make SuperHyperCube so addictive!

Driveclub VR – Evolution Studios
Over recent years Driveclub has become Sony’s new flagship racing game. Driveclub VR is a version of the game designed with PSVR in mind. You can obviously experience this game from behind the wheel, but you can also be a co-driver as you check out the best races done by your friends! The only thing more realistic than this game, is actually driving a real car on a real road in a real race.

Job Simulator – Owlchemy Labs
Job Simulator is very suitable as a VR game. The game’s gameplay perspective is perfect and its absurdity and humor really stand out from the crowd! Above everything is this just a very funny game that does not take itself too serious. We have seen this before with other Simulator titles, but when playing this game in VR it adds sooo much to it!

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes – Steel Crate Games
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is all about communication. The person wearing the VR headset needs to dismantle a bomb with help from his friends. By describing the bomb, the team needs to come up with a solution. This solution needs to be communicated back to the player wearing the headset, before time runs out. Time is ticking!

Wayward Sky – Uber Entertainment
Wayward Sky combines third person adventuring with first person puzzles. There’s a strong focus on atmosphere and storytelling in this game. By all means, this is not a game for people looking for a serious challenge. It’s best described as an approachable game for VR initiates. Adventure enthusiasts should give this lighthearted adventure game a go!

Battlezone – Rebellion
Battlezone has a very unique way of presenting itself. It’s almost like you are in an 80s sci-fi movie. Unfortunately its single-player component is generally considered mediocre, this action game with tanks is best played online! It’s pick-up and play appeal is undeniable. Just jump into the tank and starting blasting those enemies to get the job done. Some games don’t need complexity to be fun!

Here They Lie – Tangentlemen
In the long line of horror games that will embrace VR, we can now add Here They Lie. This psychological horror game twists reality as you deeper underground. All you have is a torch as you walk ever deeper into a twisted nightmare. This is not a game about jumpscares, but more about setting an atmospheres that will make you shiver!

Loading Human – Maximum Games
Loading Human is an episodic adventure game made for VR. This virtual reality games plays with different realities, so consider this the Inception of video games. Having an episodic game as part of a launch line-up is ambitious to say the least, but it also shows once again that the technology is a natural fit for the point and click adventure game genre!

In this video we haven’t even listed games like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Rez Infinite. Even though both are amazing games, they can also be played without a VR headset… and we wanted to look at the VR exclusives. Let us know whether you are interested in Virtual Reality. And stay tuned for a next VR Update!

sit in an office car tank or spaceship, run around with a flashlight or a chicken, or defuse a bomb those are the options for psvr? they should’ve at least done a sports multi pack like the wii did. this is lame.

  7. Fuzzy Duo on November 26, 2020 at 4:06 pm

EVE is shit, DONT BUY IT! it’s fun for about 30mins but then you realise there is no offline campaign, online has very few maps & game modes & it’s completely lacking in content. It also has disgusting levels of pay to win micro transaction & they even have the cheek to ask for more money then any other PSVR game, wait until it’s about £10, anything over that & you are being ripped off, traded mine back. The way he talks about controlling your fleet from the cockpit tells me he hasn’t even played it because there is no fleet, you don’t control anything other than a fighter craft so this review is misrepresentation & shouldn’t be trusted.

  8. Metthyou on November 26, 2020 at 4:07 pm

I got this for Christmas today and it wasn’t even £400

  11. Adrien Villela on November 26, 2020 at 4:08 pm

What’s the replay value on these games though?

  12. Fuzzy Duo on November 26, 2020 at 4:08 pm

Always ALWAYS include games with a VR mode as well, they are themselves VR games they just have 2D mode as well, there is absolutely no reason not to include 2D/VR cross format games.

  19. Derrick Barnette on November 26, 2020 at 4:15 pm

I avoided the Vr hype train but after purchasing Psvr I’m ready to ditch regular gaming all together. Experiencing it is as monumental as the first time I played an nes back in 87. Imagine being 12 years old and going from an Atari str8 to the PlayStation 5. Vr is the future and no one will ever understand until trying it for themselves.

  20. Spartas Edge on November 26, 2020 at 4:16 pm

  27. Onslaught73 on November 26, 2020 at 4:32 pm

  28. Luxaly on November 26, 2020 at 4:33 pm

in my oppinion its too soon vor VR only titles they are too expensive and u need a machine to play on and for pc it needs a decent pc so vr only titles maybe yes but only when it is affordable so for 100-200bucks i can buy oculus but now its near 800 bucks for oculus + touch….

    IM PISSSSSSSED

  37. SDMac1 on November 26, 2020 at 4:43 pm

I’m certain PS didn’t sponsor this video and tell ZoominGames to call mediocre games "awesome." I mean, Job Simulator and SuperHyperCube look incredibly engaging and not at all gimmicky. I could see myself spending hundreds, no, THOUSANDS of hours playing those games. *eye roll*

  38. CSB12004 on November 26, 2020 at 4:45 pm

rigs is awful it maid me feel sick

Even though gear vr is shit, it’s still a cheaper way to dive into virtual world. Let alone google cardboard. I got mine as a gift. Though, after an hour it’s. ack into box, lol.

  41. Sūpāburasshu Ninja on November 26, 2020 at 4:47 pm

    No shit they require PSVR.

  44. bradstercivic on November 26, 2020 at 4:51 pm

Take that Microsoft! PlayStation has VR and you don’t?

  45. Tramanon - on November 26, 2020 at 4:51 pm

Can’t people just be appreciative of what they have now and don’t worry about the technology of the future?

  46. Haohmaru HL on November 26, 2020 at 4:54 pm

Even though there will never be a new wipeout game ever again I would gladly be fine if they just port wipeout hd to PS4 and make it support vr, it would be the only reason to even own a vr. Insane speed in virtual reality, oh yis. Sad to see some shitty sports game Rigz ripped off wipeout visual style. And vr in general is sadly doomed to mostly have a library of smartphone-level quality "games" for 5 minute fun. Don’t expect serious games to be here..

  47. Bryce Lowry on November 26, 2020 at 4:56 pm

Roses are red violets are blue I just got klick baited and so did you

  48. moneymaster on November 26, 2020 at 4:57 pm

  49. kimbercustompro1911 on November 26, 2020 at 4:57 pm

I’m guessing nobody on this channel is to up to date on what the word awesome means, I realize it’s subjective but come on people

  50. LastGunman on November 26, 2020 at 4:58 pm

I assume this is DriveClub in the video. DriveClub VR doesn’t look that good.
