What would you do in an open floor plan with living room kitchen dining room. $10,000 budget
Do you see any advantage to speakers with nominal impedance at 4 ohms vs 6 vs 8? It seems that most AVRs these days have a 6 or 8 ohm rating
Logan had to have added the thunder. Seems up his alley. Fun! And the echo. Fun as well! Subtle, but it adds character.
SVS is a great company. I cannot believe how hard their subwoofers kick. I look forward to upgrading soon. The PB-2000 kick my chest – I can’t imagine their larger subwoofers 🔊
Good video. Thanks for the info!
RSL don’t hear to much about them.
I’m planning to upgrade my B&W 804 what speakers do you recommend?
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOOT PARADIGM?
Can a couple of pa speakers (15" woofer + tweeter for each speaker) be used for TV sound system and indoors music? Or they will be too loud and unsuitable for these purposes? They’re for live shows…
awesome info, will need to see it a couple of times to understand all, very good content i knew i was missing. cheers!
New sub here. Very good info. Ever worked on putting a Dolby Atmos system in a vehicle? Specifically a custom van build? I understand that it would need to be run off of 110 and not 12 volt.
Hello, I’m wondering if I have home theatre surround system 5.1.2 klipsch should I need amplifier device over the AVR danon or yamaha?
What would you would give most realistic sound for home theater a klipsch rf 7iii or svs ultra towers I’m Saving for either one just because I hear they give the best value for the money. I just don’t know which to choose I keep looking at klipsch because they don’t need a crazy amount of juice to start off a theater journey.
~$1000 would u go svs or rsl?
Thanx for u great information.very useful .to know it.an a gude help guide to it
JJ aka Kimisdad
I have an all SVS speaker System I have Ultra Towers, Ultra Center Channel, Ultra Surrounds and Ultra Bookshelf for the back Surrounds, 4 Prime Elevation for my Height Speakers my Sub is a PB16 4000. I find for @ my comfort level price this is the Ultimate Home Theater Music lover system. This replaces my Very High End Snell system that I had for many years and if you know their history they give fine music and all around sound. My SVS system does surpass the Snell’s sound which made me a very satisfied SVS advocate and customer. I think more Home Theater
Buffs need to consider this brand.
Finally a video explaining the details of what to look for and what the details mean to uninformed buyers. Thank you for the video!
You guys should definitely get a pair of polk signature s50,s55,60!! Do a review on them!!
I went an unknown German company for my speakers. They were cheap but they sound much more expensive than they are.
Do you have link to the svs whiole system ?
awesome content. Well delivered. Perfectly understood.
Pretty good video although it’s laughable that you reference Klipsch with their high sensitivity. Klipsch is well known for fudging the sensitivity numbers of their speakers. I wouldn’t reference Klipsch if I was going to talk about a manufacturer that has high sensitivity speakers.
Hi, I use this model no Yamaha Rx-v657, two tower speakers, five 40ohms speakers. Now I want update home theatre. What I buy?
Great video man. I’m kinda wrestling with this now. I have RSL CG23 LCR/CG3 surrounds. I’m thinking of moving up to the CG5 line but they are like 86 sensitivity so I’m also looking at higher sensitive speakers like the Ascend acoustics CMT 340s 92 db sensitivity. Then I started looking at the JBL Studio 570s which is 88 db sensitivity. I might be overthinking things with all this. I have a really great Parasound amp with plenty of power.
I have Focal speakers that I absolutely love in my bar room. I needed speakers in my living room and decided to try svs for my smaller living room. I cannot be any happier with the pinnacles. Wherever I placed the pinnacles it blended and disappeared in the room. As my Focal towers needed alot of footing to sound at its best.
First off thank you
Second have you ever heard of clear eye dry because you sound exactly like that guy
or better yet good idea bad idea haha love it though
Hey man please little help svs prime tower or klipsh rp 8000f are better speakers for movies also my room is 16 square metres so i have to take floorstanders speaker or bookself s because i want the best cinematic sound not just a good sound waiting your unswer thank you!!!!
I’m in the Market for a new surround sound for home and I haven’t heard of three quarters of the companies with good reviews. The ones I have heard of are very mediocre. It’s very surprising so far. But I’m not going to hand over good money to buy buy junk.
All I heard was Charlie Brown’s teacher through the first half of the video 😉
Yes, the video was helpful and informative
Rob would you ask Aperion to send you a pair of their new towers speakers to review?
*BEST THING TO DO FOR HOME AUTO SYSTEM IS , JUST BUY CAR AUTO SYSTEM AND USE IT FOR HOME USE. HOME AUTO USE HIGHER OHMS LIKE 6 OR 8 OHMS. CAR AUTO IS 4 TO 1 OHMS. WHICH MEANS CAR AUTO WILL HAVE I GREATER PERFORMANCE. I INSTALLED 2 PIONEER 12 INCH SUBWOOFERS WITH HOMEMADE BOXES TO MY HOME THEATER SYSTEM. MY HOME THEATER SYSTEM HAS 17 SPEAKERS IN TOTAL. THE 12" SUBS CAN BE HEARD FROM 100 YARD AWAY WITH MY DOORS AND WINDOWS CLOSED. IT LITERALLY SOUNDS LIKE MY APARTMENT COMPLEX IS ABOUT TO COLAPSE FROM THE ENORMOUS BASS BOOMING. THE POLICE SHOW UP TO MY PLACE ALOT.*
Ok I have a question a friend of mine is selling me a pair of 7 year old B&W 630s for $900 is that a good deal? or should I but a pair of brand new Polk S60s for $800.
Thank you for the video. I did not about the trials these companies offered I am going to take advantage of that opportunity and try before I buy.
Hello TGT, I was planning on purchasing a complete set of SVS Ultra (Front Left, Center, Front Right, and Rear Surrounds) for my home theater. What would be a similar setup with Aperian speakers? Thank you and God bless you!
No love for JBL I guess? I’ve got the Northridge E series for center and rear, along with the ES series for the front tower. I wonder how those compare to the newer klipsch sold at Costco.
Hi bro, whats your opinion of speakers made by Boston Acoustics in general? I dont hear much about this brand nowadays. I did own a Boston Soundware XS though
Polk was my first real setup and was quite impressed by the T series 5.2 setup i had. I now have klipsch reference premier system and highly recommend if you have the money. Wouldn’t think going from polk to klipch reference series would have been a big difference as the polk system impressed me for the price
thanks 👍🏻
Very helpful video! Regarding speaker stand height, what’s your opinion on the ‘ideal’ height (is there such a thing) – is it aligned with the conventional wisdom of tweeter height at ear level? I’ve watched a few videos and some suggest placing it higher than ear-level, and there’s also a small minority that advocate for below ear level. I am looking at the Q150 speakers – and the manual for the Q150 suggests 18" – 24" (45-60cm) speaker stands – that seems awfully low and would be below ear level if I sit on my (or any conventional) couch. But the KEF designers/engineers surely must have put this in the manual for a reason? Does this mean they designed or voiced the Q150s in a way that aligns with 18" – 24" and therefore it would be prudent to strictly stick to getting stands within 18 – 24"? If not, should I go with 28" or 32" inch? 32" would be putting it at or just 1" above ear level I’d say, but given how conservative KEF were in their manual, I was wondering whether 28" would be a better choice too… Any advice here would be so helpful! Thank you. Any advice here would be so helpful! Thank you.
Any feedback on Phase/MSE Audio’s Darts 660 Freestanding 5.1 package? I ask this because its a very pricey investment it retail about 24000$$ USD in India 29000$$ to 30000$$ USD for Dolby Atmos package 48000$$USD. Will it be a good investment ?
have you had a chance to check out the Genelec audio speakers that are active speakersystem? I definetly recommend those speakers to be rewied if you guys get the chance to do it
Hi, Thinking about upgrading my living room 5.1 system to SVS, current system is based around Cambridge Soundworks speakers I got many, many years ago. Company is now out of business. Looking at upgrading to the SVS Prime Tower Surround plus the SB-2000 Pro subwoofer. Though half contemplating a dual SB-1000 Pro subwoofer setup. Been reading a lot about dual subwoofer setups of late. Appreciated any feedback. Thanks.
Hi i have 19ft X 14 ft room i am planing to get B&W formation series the DUO pair, WEDGE Pair , Formation bar and sub woofer is this good enough for a room of that size
How do the RSl or SVS speakers compare to B&W speakers? Bowers & Wilkens
Is there an advantage for systems with different impedance ratings? For instance, I suspect an 8ohm speaker would have less white noise than the 4ohms because I assume it takes more power to get sound from an 8ohm setup. The noise floor might get through the 4ohms setup whereas not as much in the 8ohm setup. But that MY theory and I have nothing to back that up. Can you clarify why different impedance ratings would or would not be preferable?
Really really excellent video. very well organized and presented .
The information is very well suited to the novice and has given me the confidence to know what to look for , prior to listening .
I’ve already got good big speakers . Love my 15 inch speakers .
Is it a coincidence that SVS speakers have a similar design as DALI and that the logo also has a similar style? Is it just a coincidence or?
Nubert, he almost became a speaker 😄, but really, they are making good ones, as not the best ones, here in Germany
Polk LS 70’S
I just picked up a set of Klipsch Dolby Atmos speakers 5.0.2 $899.99 with the their Klipsch R-12SW sub for $169.99 from Costco. I can’t believe I could get a Klipsch Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 HT speaker system for around $1070. I plan to add more speakers later maybe two Klipsch surround sound speakers, another sub, and two more Atmos speakers. I’m going with 7.2.4 future setup with a Denon AVR-X6700H. On another note I do love Bowers & Wilkins speakers, I may upgrade with their speakers in the future.
This was totally informative. Appreciate it guyz.
