Warranty scammers v The Major: Premier Protect 365, Domestic Appliance Premium Protect scambaiting

This scam involves mis-selling an insurance warranty for white goods (a washing machine in this case). Another company running this scam as of March 2021 operates with the name Homecare (not to be confused with other legitimate companies with similar names). How the scam works: The scammer phones to say that the victim’s warranty has expired, and gives them two renewal options for 1-year or 3-year cover. But this company did not supply them with a warranty in the first place, so it is just a means to sell a new and unnecessary insurance product. Companies like this appear to target older people. The scammer obtains payment details and then another “verification” call attempts to get the victim to say “yes” to having the cover (that call is recorded by the scammers to prove they had informed consent from the victim, if the sale is disputed later). If the customer refuses the cover, the company will make repeated calls to beat them down. This scam is very similar to the GB Handsets operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5dwhWorVGk
