In this video I list the top 5 windows laptops for music production. These are recommendations from producers and musicians who actually USE these laptops and are getting real results with music production. These are laptops for FL Studio and laptops for Ableton Live – pretty much any DAW that can run on Windows. All these laptops have an i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and can be purchased with 512 GB SSD. These all come in 15” screen versions. Rather than listing benchmark tests that may not mean much to your music production workflow, I’ve asked my audience of producers and musicians which laptops they trust for their music production setup. If you are looking for a laptop for music studio, a laptop that runs FL Studio or Ableton Live, you’ve come to the right place. You can buy any of these laptops using the links below.

Why does your voice sound very unnatural?

  3. Abhijeet Singh on June 18, 2021 at 1:08 am

512 GB SSD is less if you have, let’s say, an instrument plugin which has a huge sound library (like Komplete, Sampletank etc.). At least 1 TB SSD is recommended imo.

  4. John HENDRICKS on June 18, 2021 at 1:09 am

  8. Joe Serrano on June 18, 2021 at 1:11 am

Still use my dad’s old tape recorder.

  9. parasite unit on June 18, 2021 at 1:12 am

Would have loved to provide recommendations – HOWEVER! I’m a Linux user. So my requirements were (and are) different.
    Gone desktop now.

Anyhow, previous used a Dell E6410 – maxed the memory (8gb – as it had the i5 with integrated GPU so no 16gb for me), swapped the Blu-ray for a second HDD caddy, used SSD Evo for the main drive, a good old fashioned HDD 500gb for the second, added a backlit keyboard)… If you do your research, you’ll see this was a gen1 processor. Maxed out around the 2.7ghz via overclocking IF you were lucky.

The only thing about it that missed a beat was me when I messed up a recording.

Had that thing for 5 years.

Also, that shopping list of upgrades didn’t happen right away.

They were spread over the time I owned it, as or if required.

Right now, I’m looking at an Acer e430 with 1Gb ram, a 160gb HDD and an AMD M100 Sempron processor as a fixer upper/upgrade project for a second music machine…

I’m expecting to spend no more than around £40-60 on all the needed upgrades… I got unused HDDs all over the place… So the game’s afoot

  10. Abhijeet Singh on June 18, 2021 at 1:13 am

Is it necessary to have a high end computer for serious music production or a high end laptop is enough and can do the same things?

  11. VSPA TMX on June 18, 2021 at 1:13 am

The dell xps are improving BUT I am never gonna buy one ever again. The last 2 have troubled me a lot.. And I’ve had it with them and their pathetic service and lack of responsibility.
    In.
Gonna TRY LENOVO AND HP OMEN

  12. Soundcorn Productions on June 18, 2021 at 1:13 am

I’m working on my Lenovo Legion – i7 2,4 gHz, 16GB RAM, GeForce RTX2080, 1TB SSD. I moved from Reaper to Cubase to learn a new DAW so I can work in Cubase if I need to. BUT. After 6 months I went back to Reaper. Cubase was unstable, after adding 4 VSTi’s during composing it was unpossible to continue recording. Awful stuff. I’m really dissapointed because I love looks of Cubase and the workflow. But it’s totally unusable for me. Reaper crashed 2 times and I’m using it for 4 years.

  18. gunsnrosesfrk on June 18, 2021 at 1:19 am

Why are you misleading people to buy the most expensive laptops?
An i5 8 Gb Ram with a decent GPU is enough. This is ridiculous.

Jesus saves. i just want one that i can make home electric guitar videos to show to friends.. i tried 2 already but they sucked cause they don’t reproduce overdriven guitar sound well at all. they sucked both in the 500- 600 dollar range. an hp and a lenovo…but the hp sucked more am taking back the lenovo…not sure a 100dollar microphone is gonna help me i think ill keep trying till i find one reasonably priced that will replay electric guitar sound rightly.
