The 1980s was the height of the arcade gaming industry and featured some amazing games including Outrun, Bubble Bobble, Rampage any many more. What happened if you hit with a paper the 2 guys fighting in Paperboy?😂
Double Dragon should have been number one.
Final Fight!!!!
The 80’s were simply the best.
The only decade I miss.
Xevious, Pac-man, and R-type are the most popular arcades of the 80s, but Xevious seems to be missing from the ranking. Others include Star Force, Afterburner II, etc.
Great list. Enjoyed most of these games. I played spy hunter alot, sea wolf, ivan stewart off road and enduro racer
How high can you get?
loved the way the ferrari badge switched everytime the car turned on outrun lol…ah the memories.
so many quarters…gone
Few seconds of Slap Fight intro music at the beginning of the video transported me back 35 years in time instantly….
GG 🙂
What was up with the Gallaga play? The enemies shots were not affecting the dual ships when they obviously were dead on a bunch of times. Cheat code maybe?
No Kung-Fu????
No.11 = SHINOBI
Bruh, Ms Pacman is #1. And Star Wars is #2.
Had to turn my sound down on Pole position
I don’t care what anyone says, gaming back in the 80’s and 90’s was so much better!
So much originality and variety of ideas, pound of pound the game developers made the technology go so much further than the crap getting served up today.
Half of these I’ve never heard of or seen in all the time I spent in arcades in the ’80’s.
Yet no mention of very big games like Centipede, Qbert, Galaxian, Missile Command, Frogger, Qix, Burgertime, Mrs. Pacman, Robotron, Joust, Tron, Berzerk, Sinistar…
What was #11?
Where is Contra?
Street Fighter 2?
B
Ah… Galaga. My whole allowance went to it.
Bad Dudes should have been on this list. Thumbs down.
My friends got an arcade full of these gems. He’s got around 200 cabinets in total but can’t fit all of them in his arcade. It cost 10 quid to get it then everything’s free. It’s like going back to the eighties
Punch Out and 720 for me.
Man it brings back memories , thanks.
To many racing games
One question. Where can I find pac ma arcade rom ? Cos in tge most know web pages I can’t find it.
I forgot all about gauntlet. I loved that game. Dragons lair was a pain in the ass but took at least a million coins from me.
Gauntlet, Star Wars, joust, dig dug, centipede. Great times
No Battlezone, Tron, Asteroids, Centipede/Millipede, Space Invaders, or even literally the most advanced game of it’s time, Firefox… smh
Does anybody remember a arcade game late 70s early 80s that a robot went thru a series of levels with other bots firing back each level abit harder each time. First saw the game at Malibu Grand Prix in Orlando. Graphics were very simple.
You win with RASTAN being #1
All these years later and I’m still the king of the arcades
Buggy boy was my favourite
When America was a much simpler place to live in. Never knew how good we use to have it. After Sept 11th the whole country went down hill.
Most of this games were iconic but.. how can you left out 2 games that built the 1vs1 fighting games of today… Karate Champ 84 and Street Fighter 87…
Damn I didnt realize ninja turtles and final fight weren’t 90s lol barely squeezed in at 89
You forgot about Kung Fu Master
Donkey Kong! #17!?!? Come on man.
No after burner?! R-Type was def my favourite as a kid
DD was top 10!!!!
was 11 shinobi?
Que recuerdos tan padres, el juego que me gusto mucho jugar fue las tortugas ninja y doble dragon en mi nintendo nes. hay un juego que jugaba en las maquinitas no se como se llama es un policía que en la segunda misión esta dentro de un robot
I play these games after lunch before it’s time to go back to work. Difference is, work is at home and so is the cabinet. We are blessed in these times to have 40 years of games to choose from. Honestly i dont understand the hurry people have to obtain the newest gen console.
Also with the 80’s was token wars. Had 3 arcades within a mile of each other. 20 games for $1. And I could play Galaga with the no fire glitch for hours on one token.
I stopped watching when you put Zaxxon in the top 25
Súper Hang On and Outrun had virtually the same graphics engine.
