After having done a Top 100 According to Gamer Votes and a Top 100 According to MetaCritic, I now present the Top 100 PS1 Games According to the good folks at Retro Sanctuary … in 10 Minutes!

One of my other videos is a “Top 100 PS1 Games According To Gamer Votes” – and in the roughly 10 months it has been posted, the comments section shows it is quite polarizing. Specifically, that other list is very heavy with JRPGs – which some people do appreciate – but judging by the comments, most people don’t.
So, here’s another list – compiled by the good folks at Retro- Sanctuary which is, I find, a little more balanced across the genres (i.e. a little less JRPG heavy). It does still have a bit of a Final Fantasy bias, it’s definitely more varied in scope.
(On a personal note, I’m surprised that some heavy hitters didn’t make this list (e.g. Parasite Eve, Twisted Metal, Die Hard Trilogy, etc …but the contents of this list are still pretty solid)

Oh, and on another personal note – I’m super major totally bummed out that Omega Boost did not make it to ANY of these lists.

Don’t get me wrong, I love new video games and I love gaming on my pc but nothing will ever touch these games made from ‘95-2005.
There’s a lot of times where I wanna live more minimalistic and get rid of all my consoles and game solely on a ps1, especially since I don’t even play video games like I used to but the quality of these games were so much better.
I’m also so sick of all the BS that comes with next gen consoles or even playing on a pc. It’s really convenient and the games look and run better too but as advanced as a lot of these consoles and PCs got, the more of a pain they became with the constant updates or not being able to access a digital game because it needs online to run it.
Being able to just sit back and play completed games with no new updates on a ps1 (or any old school system) will always feel so good to me. That’s why I still have my ps1 and play it. I just played shadow man yesterday actually. One of the worst ports/versions u could play too, lol, but idk, it just feels right playing these older systems.
In my 30’s and this gave me all the feels

100% agree with MGS1 being #1, but I’d personally put RE2 and Crash Bandicoot 3 in the top 5.

It’s crazy because literally all of these games would be able to be played on your phone. That’s how far technology has come!
