Patriots and Redcoats is just a reskinned version of Secret Hitler

  2. Houdinika on March 21, 2022 at 5:35 pm

Watching this today (October 2020) with Tom kind of sick :), joking about Lysol, telling people he’s fine 😀 Who would’ve thought 2020 would happen

  3. Kindlesmith80 on March 21, 2022 at 5:35 pm

I don’t agree on opinions all the time, but the casual chatter between you three is nice to listen in on.
    Loving the "top" videos.
Would be nice if you maybe made a top 30 and have it in 3 parts, each part showcasing 10 of each of your "top" games of whatever topic it is. there are a lot of games, and I know all 3 of you have played a fair few. I’ve noticed on a number of occasions someone saying it was in their top 20, or such.

to think it was just 2 years ago that you could go to work while having cough without freaking people out.
Edit: 12:10 – those jokes didnt age well 😀

Cyclades. Cyclades is best with 5.

  6. The Shamy on March 21, 2022 at 5:38 pm

This episode somehow foreshadows the current pandemic haha

  7. Jules Tewa on March 21, 2022 at 5:39 pm

We want to see the games

  8. Rafael Uryayev on March 21, 2022 at 5:41 pm

I love Puerto Rico with 5. Idk what Sam and Zee are whining about 😛

  9. Informal_Geek on March 21, 2022 at 5:42 pm

I know Sam gets flak for putting a particular game in every Top Ten…but I actually think his entire list is in every Top Ten, but sorted differently based on the list category.

  10. JT on March 21, 2022 at 5:42 pm

Yep not enough games go to 5 players!

  11. Scott See on March 21, 2022 at 5:43 pm

    Power Grid.

  12. Patrick Valo on March 21, 2022 at 5:46 pm

  13. Jason Westmas on March 21, 2022 at 5:46 pm

Jeezes, you guys have very diverse taste compared to me. I could never play most of these games.

  14. Ryan Bull on March 21, 2022 at 5:46 pm

    The Others for the win!

  15. Jarl Greedo on March 21, 2022 at 5:47 pm

“I’m not here.” Broski just high as fuck off the cough syrup.

  16. Douglas Ladd on March 21, 2022 at 5:49 pm

    Pandemic foreshadowing

  17. Kindlesmith80 on March 21, 2022 at 5:51 pm

Cylon sympathizer is trash. You do less than a cylon when you change sides (IF you change sides at all), and if you get the card halfway on the journey and one stat is in the red (which happens most of the games played) you immediately go into the Brig without changing sides at all.
Cylon sympathizer is in a 4 player game. 5 players and 6 players has 2 cylons. Played it last night.
No expansions as they all add garbage to the core game.

  18. Game Graves on March 21, 2022 at 5:55 pm

    3- player next, please

  19. The Warmup Lap on March 21, 2022 at 5:59 pm

    Millennium Blades!

  20. lolledopke on March 21, 2022 at 6:00 pm

    Kanal 5-loggan 😆

  21. Caleb Barton on March 21, 2022 at 6:00 pm

Live streamed just before COVID….lots of talk about CDC, plastic tents, patient zero and pandemic. Me thinks, with The Dice Tower, there is more than meets the eye…

  22. vanyaserra1 on March 21, 2022 at 6:02 pm

1 should be Pillars of the Earth

"Spyfall…and it crumbles..we will stand tall face it all together..at Spyfall!"

  24. Kimch87 on March 21, 2022 at 6:02 pm

I’m sorry, but I really need to ask: Did you guys just steal the Swedish Kanal 5 logo for your thumbnail?

  25. Brice Lory on March 21, 2022 at 6:04 pm

I don’t see the added value of playing Time Line with more players – 5 seems like you’re just sitting around longer without, again, any added play benefit for having more players.

  26. dorpth on March 21, 2022 at 6:05 pm

Pretty much any hidden traitor game. Any more or less and it starts favoring one side over the other, or it just gets too unwieldy.

  27. I Have A Mouth, And I Must Scream on March 21, 2022 at 6:08 pm

Zee really sold Sub Terra to me because of his description of the ending!

  28. Ian McNear on March 21, 2022 at 6:09 pm

I think I actually love Blood Rage best at 5. I’ve done it twice and it was amazing both times.

  29. Gordon Neuls on March 21, 2022 at 6:10 pm

Our group, aged 72 to 13 in age love to play downforce, small world, camel up ,now into version 2, if we have 5 or 6 playing.

  30. checkrazor76 on March 21, 2022 at 6:12 pm

Just staying up late night watching old top tens and every damn one reminds me that Sam’s opinions are always WRONG.

  31. Daniel Holding on March 21, 2022 at 6:13 pm

Yuss! I play Games with my Sister, Girlfriend and her two sisters, I’m always struggling to find good 5 player games.

  32. HypnoticSorin on March 21, 2022 at 6:14 pm

Ethnos, 7 Wonders, Dixit, Cosmic Encounter, Lords of Waterdeep with expansion would make my list. As well as Blood Rage with the expansion.

Not sure why they hate on Blood Rage with 5 so much. It works quite well and its tied with 4 players for me.

  33. TheMrE on March 21, 2022 at 6:15 pm

In Specter Ops with 3 players each hunter player controls a SINGLE hunter. Either Tom plays it wrong or misremembered. Only at 2 players does the hunter control 2 figures.

  34. Evan Watson on March 21, 2022 at 6:15 pm

Caylus and Istanbul are good options, too.

    Foolish fellow

  40. Dave on March 21, 2022 at 6:21 pm

It should be top games that allow at least 5 players, ranked for how good the individual games are with 5 players !!

  41. EviLNox8 on March 21, 2022 at 6:23 pm

Why spyfall 2 over spyfall 1? I thought they were exactly the same game.?

  42. wattsoever on March 21, 2022 at 6:25 pm

Some other 5 player games my family has enjoyed are: Sagrada (with expansion), Tokaido, Meeple Circus, Camel Up, Sleeping Queens, Survive: Escape from Atlantis (with all expansions), Sushi Go!, Ticket to Ride. I think Bang the Dice and Jamaica are great @ 5 too.

3 player games are nice and generally the staple for many 4 player limit games – many get bogged down with too many players, and sometimes the games also become too restricted in possibilities.
    Examples:
Settlers of Catan (4P) – it becomes stupid difficult to move around the board with 3 competitors blocking you off every possible way. 2P feels too empty.
The 7th Continent (4P) – each player is super restricted in their inventory and cards they can hold that some cards cripple players if they chose to hold onto them.
1 player is fine I guess, but 3 gives you the optimal card in hand and inventory.
Gloom (4) – takes too long to get back to your turn, and you have 6 actions of which can be turned against you (3 other players). 2 is too much back and forth.

Some games require maximum number of players for balance.
    Examples:
Shadowrun: Crossfire (4P) – you get shafted easily if you are missing any one class.
Chaos In The Old World (4P) – for balance placement / play styles.
Folklore: the Affliction (4P) – game balance.
Kingdom: Death Monster (4P) – any less and you make it even more harder on yourself.

Some games are better with more players,
    Examples:
Dead of Winter: The Long Night (5P) – we only play this co-op as the additional win/loss conditions really don’t add to the game for us except frustration.
Battlestar Galactica (core game only 6P) – the Cylon Supporter loyalty card is utter rubbish. 2 Cylons makes the game a real challenge for the human team.
Pathfinder: the Adventure Card Game (any 6P) – the more diverse the group the more each card will be of use to someone.
Rick and Morty: Total Rickall Card Game (5P) – where players can be a parasite or real, the uncertainty is nice.
Mansions of Madness (5P) – more players can split up to cover more ground providing better exploration during the limited time.

  45. Willbeplayin on March 21, 2022 at 6:28 pm

Pax Pamir, Sidereal Confluence, Concordia, Flamme Rouge, Medici, Yedo, Acquire.

  46. John Maloy on March 21, 2022 at 6:29 pm

I disagree with Tom here on catacombs. It has player elimination and it happened to us where 1 player was eliminated early and sat around watching for the next hour or so. I think 3 players is best where each non overlord has 2 characters.

  47. ralelunar on March 21, 2022 at 6:30 pm

I like The Others as much as Zee, so it’s funny how much that game made Tom/Sam squirm whenever he put it on a list

  48. vexienroe on March 21, 2022 at 6:31 pm

So Tom started covid, nice job Tom.

  49. MediocreGatsby ! on March 21, 2022 at 6:33 pm

King of Tokyo and Dixit are good at 5
