It was still hard to whittle down the list to just these, so if you feel we missed one of your favorite shows, let us know in the comments below. Here is to one of the best years of television ever!

Lovecraft Country was so good. Yes it was a little confusing at first but by the 3rd episode, it started coming together. It’s not hard to follow, even though I see it was for some people in the comments 🤣. Segregated 1950s, racism, magic, monsters. Not hard. But like I said, for some people it will be hard to understand or follow; especially for those who think some of that doesn’t exist, isn’t real or never happened 😉

Yelowstone was a blast for me, dunno why nobody talks about it, but it’s just epic and badass.

  5. Selwyn Andrews on April 3, 2022 at 6:59 pm

So I look at your top 20 list and you’ve got Star Treks Picard and Discovery but no Expanse? Check yourself before you wreck yourself, JoBlo…

  6. PD Zombie on April 3, 2022 at 7:01 pm

The Outsider was the most underrated series of 2020… And I suppose you didn’t watch Gangs of London…

  7. Scott Stallings on April 3, 2022 at 7:03 pm

SO SAD…ABC..CBS..NBC..F0X..are not on the list. Network television sucks my pie hole! Even worst is their news departments! 🗑 fake news! May the networks die in peace ✌ 🙏 😘😃😄😅

  8. Dolly Dagger on April 3, 2022 at 7:04 pm

I really hope someday BoJack Horseman–the WHOLE series–will be available on DVD.

Pretty good analysis and you gave me a few new things to watch so thanks! One show I would include on this list would have been Vikings. Just finished the sixth season after binge watching it and I didn’t think I would like it at the beginning but I have developed an affinity for the show. Even characters I initially did not like, for example Ivar the Boneless. This show really does character development well and I can strongly suggest it for anybody needing something to binge watch their way through. 🙂

    The Queen’s Gambit.

    The Queen’s Gambit.

    The Queen’s Gambit.

I forgot about Perry Mason, though. That was quite good.

Am I the only one who thought this last season of Fargo ended up being a giant pile of crap?

  15. Matthies Oliveira on April 3, 2022 at 7:11 pm

Love Fargo season 4. Better than the third by far.

Perry Mason felt like it was taking the long, boring route to a climatic reveal but never quite gets there…But by the time I realized that fact, I just didn’t care anymore. I didn’t care about any of the characters really. They’re all either straight up dreadful or simply just dull uninteresting characters. It is, however, technically fantastic though. With a great cast, great set pieces & authentic dialogue, or at least seemingly enough, to the time. Even though the storyline for season 1 was bleak at best, I do still have hope for season 2 because it just has undeniable potential that carried season 1 to the brink of being interesting before collapsing.

  19. Thomas Müthing on April 3, 2022 at 7:16 pm

Good to see a show for REAL adults come out on top, not some superhero shit aimed at people who simply refuse to grow up and play ego shooters into their 60s. That said, The Queen’s Gambit should have been rated even higher. It’s the sleeper hit of the year.

  20. 1975supermike on April 3, 2022 at 7:17 pm

I’m not ok with this was brilliant. Scrapped by Netflix 😡

  21. Lewis Johnson on April 3, 2022 at 7:25 pm

Matthew Rhys is Welsh. A great actor, under appreciated, should be in more high profile projects. Though you may mean he’s a star in America, or he was a star of The Americans. Both are correct. Waiting for season 2 of Perry Mason.

This video made me think Id love to see some WTF Happened videos on Carnival, John From Cincinnati, Dana Carvey Show, The Knick. Shows that ended before their time.

  25. Terry Lee on April 3, 2022 at 7:28 pm

When I hear the title Fargo, I think to myself oh they made a TV series out of the movie from 1996 Fargo? No… Apparently this TV series Fargo seems to have nothing to do with the 1996 movie… So when you do a Google search for Fargo you get both the TV series listed first because it’s the newest thing, followed by the movie which came out in 1996. I question why the series decided to give it that title. It’s a little confusing

I was hoping to see Ted Lasso here

  29. iakona23 on April 3, 2022 at 7:31 pm

Do you have some technical reason for leaving out the Apple TV series “Tehran”? I don’t even see it in your top 20 or your honorable mentions. Tehran is my pick for one of the best TV series that I have seen in recent years, and #1 for 2020.

  34. _ on April 3, 2022 at 7:38 pm

  35. Matthies Oliveira on April 3, 2022 at 7:38 pm

I’m glad you put Fargo as number one. That show deserves more praise.

    doom patrol????

  38. Screw The Net on April 3, 2022 at 7:40 pm

bleh…lotta stinkers in that list. I see people talking about the expanse, but it was just as lame as some of the shows mentioned on this vids list…expanse was about as boring and unoriginal as altered carbon. *sighs * R.i.P. visual entertainment 1920-2020 lol

  39. Cliff Booth on April 3, 2022 at 7:41 pm

Checkout "The Good Doctor". It’s awesome af!

  40. Hunga Tonga Hunga on April 3, 2022 at 7:42 pm

Lovecraft Country is a mess. While it’s well acted and filmed (90% of the time) there are some awful drops in quality in parts or full episodes. And the story is even more of a mess that doesn’t feel tied together and plays out like an anthology series switching genres with the same characters. Also the racism is bad message is so heavy handed it’s practically bludgeoning the viewer with it.

  41. BombayPotnoodle on April 3, 2022 at 7:43 pm

The Queen’s Gambit was simply amazing. Ignore the bollox about substance abuse and gender nonsense…it’s so barely touched on in the series it’s completely irrelevant.

  42. chris costello on April 3, 2022 at 7:43 pm

The Expanse only has 4 episodes and already better than any of there. Not knocking them. Just stating a fact. Passing on The Expanse? I mean…dont shoot your credibility in the foot or anything.

  43. Pat Powers on April 3, 2022 at 7:43 pm

I would have put The Mandalorian and Queen’s Gambit at 1 and 2, but the Outsider was clearly, obviously, very much weaker than either of those series. Shouldn’t even be on the list to be honest. I have to wonder about your understanding.

  44. Carlos Gonzales on April 3, 2022 at 7:44 pm

    Unsubscribed !

  45. Neil Smith on April 3, 2022 at 7:45 pm

‘The Boys’…well, those actors must be proud of creating such ‘high culture’ for next generations and role models for the cool kids. ‘Superman’ masturbating atop a tall building, and a female ‘hero’ who enjoys watching the light die in her victims eyes as she kills them; just some great moments from the Boys… Filth, nonsense, and wasted talent. Is this really the best our culture can come up with? And why would ‘The Expanse’ be left off of any ‘best list’…as it is among the best shows ever made and may even have something to say about the human condition, class wars, power grabs and ‘the unknown’.

  46. Sting Rey on April 3, 2022 at 7:46 pm

i watched all of schitt’s creek in 3 weeks. i now cry everytime i hear tina turner’s simply the best.
