avoid range that has a computer, you will save yourself time and money. technicians always spike up there service charge when servicing a high end appliance.

People that can afford this stuff don’t cook

The girl looks exactly like my ex… ugh… regrets. Gaggenau and Thermador are excellent brands.

I went to a commercial stove because all of the home ranges have computer controls. When an electrical spike killed the computer board in my Kitchen Aid range, the oven no longer worked Replacing the board is an expensive waste of time as the next electrical spike will destroy the computer again. After going through this nightmare I will never buy another kitchen range with a computer control. Jenn Air is just another expensive home range that is presented as a commercial range. It is nothing but another piece of computerized junk made to look like a commercial range.

    Quick and simple but filling

Yeah… the conveniences of having electronics in everything come with the added complexities of maintaining and the higher cost of repairing them. Give me an all-gas range with no electrical components….. one that works with just standing pilot lights and nothing else. I want to be able to cook in the comfort of my home, in the middle of a power outage, in the dead of winter. No compromise!

I install these in luxury homes and have used Dacor, Monogram, Viking, Jenn-Air, Thermador, Wolf and Capital. I’ve had nothing but problems with Viking. Wolf has been the best service by far. The company very much reminds me of Lexus and how it wants to keep customers for life. However, the best range/cooktop by far is the Capital. The open burners are the most powerful you can get in home cooking. The convection ovens have a rotisserie function which made the best chicken I ever had. Unfortunately, the mess rotisserie cooking makes is staggering. There’s also an iron wok ring that is the nines. Capital was created by the former Dacor boys and has two weaknesses: service and griddle. The griddle (24") on the Wolf is the best I’ve seen for excellent control over the entire griddle. Capital’s has a single control and has weird hot spots that are hard to figure out. Service is just not as complete as Wolf. Will it get there? I’m not sure. I’ve owned several Wolf ranges and have had minor and major issues. Service has always been really, really excellent and I’d be happy with Wolf all the time. But the Capital is really a cook’s machine. With copper cookware (or good quality, heavy cookware) you will bring a new definition to ‘saute’. It’s that good.

Does anyone know, WHEN is the best time to purchase a wall oven. Are the prices better toward the end of the year?

I wish you would have spoke of the VULCAN OVENS AVAILABLE FOR HOME KITCHENS

I don’t need to program my oven. I need an oven that I set to a temperature and it goes to that temperature. That is all anyone needs.

*Looks great!<<>>**allmy.tips/Thor_range?r44 **     Works very well! Very powerful burners that can boil a full 5 gallon stock pot in less than 30 minutes. Griddle feature is so handy – cleans up very easily. Lots of space in the ovens and they cook evenly – convection works great. Great addition to our kitchen. We cook all the time – large family – most everything from scratch. The capacity and functionality of this range has exceeded our expectations. Great bang for your buck!*

BlueStar should be in this lineup.

    BlueStar?

STAY AWAY FROM ELECTRONICS IN A STOVE OR ANY COOKING DEVICE THAT EXPOSES THE ELECTRONICS TO THERMAL CYCLING!!! Electronics are not made to withstand the LONG TERM high temperatures of heat! Also the cycling from hot to cold to hot to cold destroys the electronics through oxidation, DE soldering of the electrical boards, solder fracturing, and short circuit/shorts caused by water and wet food products! Stay with metal EVERYTHING in a Pro Gas Stove. THIS SHOULD BE COMMON SENSE TO ANY EDUCATED PERSON?

I spent $15K on a Thermador only to spend another $1200 to replace the sliding shelves 2 years later. They have ball bearings that get stuck after a single cleaning cycle. Everything else was great but the oven shelves are a total fail.

Viking ain’t bad. Definitely better than jennair.

  25. Rani Gill on June 30, 2021 at 3:04 am

    What about bluestar?

  26. Richard Strohbach on June 30, 2021 at 3:05 am

There is nothing PRO about these ranges they are simply big, flashy, and RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Take a tour of the kitchen of a big hotel or restaurant and look at the ranges they use. They have absolutely NOTHING in common with these pieces of eye candy.

Thanks Laura. Very helpful.. I’m shopping for a range, nothing big.. 36". But the nice American brands like Wolf or Viking are a total rip-off here in Europe.. any European maker you can recommend?
