I couldn’t do it, I had to buy the most powerful tablet out there, I bought the 2021 iPad 11 Pro (Space Gray) with the M1 chip, 256gb storage and 8gb of RAM ….so I’m future proofed for awhile and it’s more portable for sure……..oh and you’ll love the 120hz refresh rate as well! Whatever you do, don’t skimp on storage, the 128gb storage fills up quick if you work on it, play games and watch movies. Get the 256gb or more storage!

  44. Jakob on March 14, 2022 at 6:15 pm

The best budget Android tablet on the market, was a year or two back’ the Samsung S5e.. it was like 350USD though that model also got kicked from Samsung very fast and as soon as possible, as i reckon it cannibalized to hard on Samsung flagship tablets.
We had looked at the S5e LTE, and S6 wifi and S7+ wifi and the S5e was a weird fish as it on build, display, speakers, bonafide flagship..
as it was identical to the S6, just with some cons.
Less potent SoC, non-UFS drive, and no digitzer or wide camera but single 4K30 cam but build wise, atmos speakers, 1600P amoled screen, full DeX support.. it was the same.. and the S5e was even thinner.. I recall it still hold the title as the thinnest tablet. at 5.5mm 398g 10.5".. though Xiaoxin P12 with 5.63mm now come quite close.. the P11 is around 5.8mm as I recall..
One thing that really puzzled me with the S5e was the speakers.. always been of the impression you need some room for decent speakers.. but holy af it sounded good, it even fronted my Ipad pro 12.9" 2020.
the S5e was also a tad brighter in its 1600p amoled display then S6.. I saw just under 750nits on S5e if I flooded the lightsensor, on sliders it was like 550 to 600… personally I think it was because the S6 had its AMOLED display toned down to match a certain HDR label.. but some sites like Kimovil does label the S6 as only AMOLED and the S5e as Super AMOLED, and sure DeX are nice.. I like it when flying drones that you can have multiple screen open at once, and its a huge plus that its on the device itself..
The only con on DeX, is the lack of Windows10/11 app support that seems locked ou for Samsung DeX tablet.. seems it mainly for Samsung high end-mobiles this DeX in windows OS.. but the wireless DeX also works nice on these Samsung tablets, though max at 1080p as I recall.

What really appeals to me on this Xiaoxin is the keyboard, and the kickstand, and it this two-part system with a trackpad, just like S7+.. prefer that over the keyboard variant with a magnetic grove, like on fx Samsung S5e or Mi Pad5 pro.
Btw – Still not sure if DeX is implemented on fx FOLD3 or its only this limited DeX that is able to "beam to other screen devices" and not on the unit itself,.. after all on Samsung FOLD with its big display.. DeX on the unit itself and the main widescreen.. would be quite ideal.

Thx for the walkthru.. really like the choices Lenovo are making with their P-tablet line… though the Mi Pad5 also does many thinsg right, but from video looks a tad under the Xiaoxin and also recall the MI pad 5 pro are with plastic back, while surprisingly enough being even heavier then Xiaoxin P11 pro 2021, while being smaller.. 11" 515g vs 485g 11.5". .

Hi. Can this tablet use "Open Camera" app to record 4k videos with EIS? (I’ve read that it can record only 1080p video with no EIS.)

  46. Melon Pumpkinhead on March 14, 2022 at 6:17 pm

Tried connecting my 8bitdo controllers (using android mode/DInput) to this tablet and none of them are connecting. Only thing that comes up in bluetooth settings when the controller is on is "8ap" and attempting to connect to that has it say "pairing…" for a while until it decides to give up. Anyone got a solution to this?

EDIT: tried a different 8bitdo controller that’s can only do xinput and switch. Tried xinput mode and it worked. Guess that means only xinput controllers work on this thing sadly.
