Notes:
– Clarification: For performance testing, I used the “Optimal” preset. I always use the “Silent / Quiet” preset (with keyboard backlight off, display set to 180 nits) for all battery related testing.
– Many test results don’t make it into the video to prevent clutter. If there are any questions, ask!

    what about the fan????

  2. Xiaochen Li on April 11, 2021 at 2:10 am

The problem with Dell’s claims on the display is that the PANEL is capable of the specified spec, but they didn’t configure them to do so. Their built in profile is pretty useless.

excellent review, quite different from the many other ones available on youtube. No gimmicks, no special effects, much appreciated, thank you!

The review was to the point and professional, ma’am.
I would be grateful if you review the Dell’s new XPS 15.
I am planning to buy that one, but confused because of thermals.

I love your unbiased review on what is the XPS 13 capable of. I own both XPS 13’ 2017 with touch screen and MacBook Pro 13 2018. Both of them are great laptop and it depends on what you are going to do with the setup and what software you are going to use. As I cannot have two setup for my workload productivity, I leave my XPS 13 to my wife and she is loving it.

Great review, I liked and subscribed to your channel, I just bought a version with a Core i7, 32GB of ram, 1TB SSD and a 4K display.

I love the way you review the features of the unit. You truly cover most of it if not all the things one should know about the performance, functionalities, and features. Two thumbs up!!!

My xps13 9300 top of the line is crap. Already had to replace one for the killer card WiFi. Now it won’t even boot up, 2 months old

As a user of the Dell XPS , this laptop is very unreliable and dells customer service is not as good as I expected . A lot needs to be worked on and these faults can be seen in longer run ( a year + )

  12. Khaled Oueslati on April 11, 2021 at 2:24 am

on many other reviews, they claim that it heats up a lot, an the fans are really noisy, is that true ? they talk about screan glitching or problems ? for how long did you use the laptop (i’m trying to gather info before bying it )

  13. Bilal Ayaz Butt on April 11, 2021 at 2:24 am

    Subscribed! Great content! =)

  14. Farhan Khan on April 11, 2021 at 2:25 am

All laptops initially look like the best laptop out there . The only way to really know it is by using it over the long run . Personally I have found Dell unreliable and their costumer service is really bad . Secondly the warranty is most likely expired by the time the problems start . Thirdly, spending that amount on a laptop, one expects it to last at least 3 years with minor issues but with my experience it was major issues within first year !

NEVER BUY A DELL – i ordered the new XPS 13 on June 4th 2020. ordered the I 7 4K touch display 16GB Ram – 256 SSD. i was given a price by a sales rep and i paid the whole balance of $1,750.00 at 7:00 pm June 4th ( received two emails from my Credit card company approving and congratulating me on my purchase at Dell ), i was given a delivery date from the Dell sales rep. At 4:00 am i received 3 emails from Dell // "email from Dell – all of the items in this order have been cancelled. You’ll find your cancellation details below, and you can view all products in this order on your Order Status page." i spent the next 8 hours (Friday June 5th) on the phone and chat and they either put me on hold on the phone or never came back on from a question on Dell chat. by 5:00 pm (a full 10 hours later) a sales rep called me and told me all of the orders from June 4th were cancelled (No Explanation at all – some kind of un-explained technical glitch – BS) . they told me they world re-submit the order and i kindly told them no thanks…i’ll shop elsewhere. i’ll never order a Dell Product again as long as i live. according to my credit card company – Dell hires a company (Dell Marketing LP) who is in charge of deciding what orders go through and which ones are cancelled _ PATHETIC

  21. B H on April 11, 2021 at 2:33 am

The touch display adds size and weight?

  22. Honest Mike on April 11, 2021 at 2:34 am

For some reason, Dell won’t offer the 1080p touch panel paired with the i7 here in NZ, so i’m having to choose between the i5, or the poor battery life that comes with the 4k panel.

    Very frustrating.

  23. DJ162 on April 11, 2021 at 2:35 am

For the performance, it’s incredible to see these results on an integrated graphics. The fact that it beats 1050s in laptops is amazing.

  24. Dean7779x on April 11, 2021 at 2:36 am

its a Dell, overpriced, QC issues, and poor Customer Support For way less $ look at HP Envy 13 inch options, or even a MB Pro 13 as even if it is same price or more you’re going to get quality and support unmatched by anyone else

  25. Miko Merca on April 11, 2021 at 2:36 am

I like the design of the Dell XPS 13 as well as how thin it is. It need some improvement but this laptop is perfect for a business people who travel a lot! Very nice review about this laptop! Nice Job! #Dell #XPS13

  30. Player on April 11, 2021 at 2:40 am

Is there a difference in battery life between the non touch display and the 1920×1200 touchscreen display? Or does touchscreen not affect battery life? Great video btw

  31. Partha Mukherjee on April 11, 2021 at 2:40 am

    still RAM should be upgradeable

  32. BenSu on April 11, 2021 at 2:41 am

  40. Kaoushik Ramachandran on April 11, 2021 at 2:54 am

There are two versions of the XPS 13 9300, one with 8GB RAM and Intel UHD graphics and the other with 16GB RAM, touch screen and the Intel Iris Plus. But the later is wayyy more expensive.

  41. Irving Lopez on April 11, 2021 at 2:55 am

Min. 3:50 when she is typing lid moves alot. That seems to be a huge problem.

  42. Kyle Smith on April 11, 2021 at 2:55 am

nice review! i have a question, do you notice any thermal throttling on this laptop? how do you think the thermal design will effect long term usage?

  43. John B on April 11, 2021 at 2:55 am

Bad experience so far. Bought XPS13 on 28 June 2020. Motherboard failed on 3 August. Dell refused to send me a new replacement computer. Dell ordered a replacement mother board so their on-site technician can change. Technician arrived 24 August with replacement "refurbished" mother board and it too failed. It’s a brand new computer. Next estimated parts date is 7 September. The computer is now broken longer than it functioned. Unhappy user.

Thanks! Nice review and pretty presenter!

  47. Bash A. on April 11, 2021 at 3:04 am

I have now received the laptop and damn it looks gorgeous! Forgive me Lord as I have sinned and could not resist such beauty regardless of its flaws. Be warned though, that after seeing this laptop all other laptops will look mediocre at best. The new XPS 13 has truly raised the bar when it comes to looks and quality. Most importantly, I was deeply concerned with the heating issues some reviewers spoke about. However, I can confirm that after I changed the setting to cool through the Dell Power Manager the difference is very noticeable. In fact, I am currently typing this comment while the laptop is on my lap. The 16:10 aspect ratio is perfect because it’s a great balance between consuming video and productivity. The 3:2 aspect ratio Microsoft uses is too much for me and makes the experience of watching movies look out of date. In any case, if bad things start to appear I promise to leave an update. Thanks.

This pretty girl should know that people buying Apple laptop love the OS. You can’t compare peach and apple……you can compare peach with peach and apple with apple. Logic

  50. Paul Imisi on April 11, 2021 at 3:05 am

If it can get more than 500nits based on some settings I don’t think it’s misinformation for marketing it as capable of over 500nits. I really don’t get what you’re arguing about with respect to that.
