Why this guy dressed like a clown. I think there’s a misunderstanding of synthesizers in general. Dude you are not in a JAZZ club šŸ™ˆ

  3. ASTRUBAL MC ROQUE on November 15, 2021 at 11:14 am

By the way! I want to look as well as you do at your age !

  4. Groovebox Astronaut on November 15, 2021 at 11:16 am

  5. Angel Rueda on November 15, 2021 at 11:17 am

It’s a really good top, I took the decision to buy a new synth. Best regards from Iztapalapa to the world.

  6. Tyler Runyon on November 15, 2021 at 11:20 am

The Model:Cycles is so underrated. I have been using "grooveboxes" since the Roland MC303 and Cycles is one of the most immediate, interesting and inspiring of them all.

  7. fiddlestickz muzik on November 15, 2021 at 11:20 am

can you share with us the type of chair you are sitting in..? model name etc..?

  8. J Hall on November 15, 2021 at 11:21 am

I bought a crave form them it broke in 3 months! They expect me to pay for shipping up front over $75 to Germany. They are no help. Buy from an Aamerican supplier!!

  9. Patrick Skelly on November 15, 2021 at 11:22 am

Hi Jason, really loved watching your video. I use to mess around synths and a drum machine when I was much younger (over 30 years ago) and I am thinking of getting back into it. Your top five has certainly got the buzz going again. I need to get back into understanding what these machines can do. I would love to get a machine that would combine a drum machine, bass machine and synth and that is easy to use and programme. I mean super easy. Its just for home entertainment but would like to get a machine that offer professional standard. What would you recommend?

    Jeff Goldblum? Is that you??

  11. Philly Boy Roy on November 15, 2021 at 11:25 am

MegaFM is my #1 2020 synth. Twisted Electrons.

"The Best Synths of 2020 " – proceeds to show us an Arturia midi keyboard controller that is used to control other synths

  14. Christian Thompson on November 15, 2021 at 11:31 am

The keystep pro is a synthesizer? Doh.

  15. Andrew Campbell on November 15, 2021 at 11:34 am

When life seems meaningless weā€™ll buy products that give the illusion of being a creator. Unfortunately weā€™ll be making the same sounds and taking the same pictures as everyone else.

  16. Derrick Thibeau on November 15, 2021 at 11:34 am

I liked the jam at the end. Inspiring.

  17. fƩlix beƔ perini on November 15, 2021 at 11:36 am

holy shit the jam at the end……

  18. ALANO on November 15, 2021 at 11:38 am

Is there a midi clock sync (midi in/out) on Moog Subharmonicon?

  19. Winston Smith on November 15, 2021 at 11:39 am

The Moog Subharmonikon looks like an ESXPENSIVE CLONE of the Behringer Neutron!!

  20. Supernatural FPV on November 15, 2021 at 11:39 am

I’m sorry but this is a rubbish top 5 list.

  21. ImperialStout on November 15, 2021 at 11:39 am

Cool video, thanks! See for me this year I picked up: Novation Summit, Pro 3, Minilogue XD (used for cheap) and I’d like to get the Hydrasynth, TD-3 and MicroFreak. Though that polybrute looks very tasty, but I’ve done a lot of damage already.

  22. 5 String Theory on November 15, 2021 at 11:40 am

I’m not a huge synth pro, but the presenter is the perfect match to this topic!

  23. 69shakti on November 15, 2021 at 11:43 am

Hydrasynth is far superior to many of these picks in my opinion

  24. VR 4EVER on November 15, 2021 at 11:43 am

I prefer the Elektron Model: Samples but yeah.

  25. E-Con Records on November 15, 2021 at 11:45 am

Wavestate & Hydrasynth, & Polybrute would be in my top 5.

  26. Ni Vac on November 15, 2021 at 11:45 am

Wavestate, Hydrasynth, UDO Super 6, Subharmonicon, Pro-3

  27. Pal Joey on November 15, 2021 at 11:47 am

    Jason! Your very attractive!!

  28. fonitronik on November 15, 2021 at 11:48 am

How can a "clone" (and maybe it is just a kind of re-make and not a clone at all) of Rolands TB-303 from 1981 possibly be on a list of best synths of 2020? I don’t get it.
And please, don’t get me started on the Keystep Pro, which might be a great controller, but does not even create a sound!?

  29. DooDoo Poop on November 15, 2021 at 11:48 am

It wasnā€™t all that long ago, that there were barely 5 synths worth a shit, that were released in a single calendar year. It is insane what has happened in the last decade. From Dave Smith saying, ā€œIt just isnā€™t financially feasible to make a modern VCO poly synth,ā€ to the emergence of software that actually can sound really good, the retro market giving way to remarkable remakes, the emergence of eurorack, and the ridiculous number of affordable hardware sequencers.

It is a glorious time friends. I was hoping that we would see a single Prophet 6 voice from Sequential at some point. I love my AS-1 but would love a better interface and keys. They went WAY further though. IMO, the Pro 3 is the best monosynth released in many years.

  30. Charles Lewis on November 15, 2021 at 11:48 am

    I want the hydrasynth…and wavestate…and keystep pro!

  31. IvƔn Ch.S. on November 15, 2021 at 11:49 am

I didn’t know Jeff Goldblum was a synth reviewer

  32. BaddaBigBoom on November 15, 2021 at 11:50 am

To have the Pro One re-created by Behringer has brought the eighties into my bedroom šŸ™‚

  33. Scott's Synth Stuff on November 15, 2021 at 11:52 am

You leave out the Hydrasynth and the Wavestate, but include the (yawn) TD-3, and the Keystep Pro, which isn’t even a synth! And the Subharmonicon, which is actually from 2018. Something very fish about the synths selected for this "Best of 2020." I suspect it’s more of a "Best synths we want to push and sell in 2020."

  34. Pulse2AM on November 15, 2021 at 11:54 am

The Microfreak Vocoder edition, lot’s of synth for the money.

  35. Doug FA on November 15, 2021 at 11:54 am

I thought that Dracula thing was a guitar pick for a seond… I was like AWESOMMMMME!

  36. Pal Joey on November 15, 2021 at 11:55 am

But it looks like your sitting in the Adamā€™s Family living roomšŸ¤£šŸ¤£

  37. xmrtuvgs on November 15, 2021 at 11:56 am

Love my Neutrons, MicroFreak, SubHarmonicon, and Wavestate.
Wavestate, is the best of all, with MicroFreak and subharmonicon as second and third place.

  38. Splurges Grace on November 15, 2021 at 11:57 am

what synths does mike dean uses?

  39. 5 String Theory on November 15, 2021 at 11:58 am

    Also I was hoping it’s a give away šŸ˜„

  40. Hugo Silva on November 15, 2021 at 11:58 am

    what a nice end track

  41. Robert Winkler on November 15, 2021 at 11:58 am

SI Pro 3: FOUR (4) envelopes vs. what you state at 9:51.

It wouldn’t be a big mistake if it weren’t for the facts that (1) you made this synth the highlight of your video, (2) you even had a private meeting with Dave Smith to learn about it, (3) you’ve had over 10 months since this synth was first introduced to get your details right, (4) envelopes, and how many of them are offered; are not a minor or insignificant detail about any synth, and (5) you make it sound like you actually own it….

…all of which make this mistake ridiculous; and since this is an opinion piece to begin with, this calls into question the credibility of the entire video, and renders your opinion superficial fluff.

Apologies for the harsh words, but inattention to detail is grossly disrespectful to the audience.

  42. Dominic Banfield on November 15, 2021 at 11:58 am

    RIP Tim Smith.

  43. Sirius360 on November 15, 2021 at 11:59 am

  45. MinusNoir on November 15, 2021 at 12:01 pm

    – Moog Grandmother
    – Hydrasynth
    – Behringer Odyssey
    – OP-1

  46. Dolores5000 on November 15, 2021 at 12:03 pm

    So killer

  47. Glass Melter on November 15, 2021 at 12:06 pm

More Subharmonicon! Subconscious subtlety subverting my conscious reality, and a threesome with my happy-hardcored TD-3 and the surprising Behringer Neutron, and my modded Korg 01W-fd throwing the audio Porn accompaniment.

  48. Mike G on November 15, 2021 at 12:06 pm

I have some new and some older synths: V-Synth GT, M3, Radias, Behringer Model D and Neutron, Oddy, Beatstep Pro(I know, not a synth). And dozens of analog synths including Reaktor and Arturiaā€™s V Collection 7. I have the hardware synced through a MOTU midi patch bay and integrated through Reason 11. Iā€™ve been using Reason since version 1. Itā€™s been a long time since Iā€™ve heard sounds that I havenā€™t heard before. Iā€™m inclining more now towards software. The sound quality is excellent, the flexibility greater than hardware, and integration is much easier.

  49. (WxkR) on November 15, 2021 at 12:07 pm

So, nobody will vote for the Modal Argon8? Donā€™t have it but think itā€™s a strong contender!

  50. Sai on November 15, 2021 at 12:08 pm

UDO Super 6 not in the list for Best Synths of 2020? For something so new and different, it should be on the top.
