Dang, I invested in an rtx 2070 gaming card since I thought it would be equivalent to a quadro

  2. Atul soti on June 17, 2021 at 1:07 am

gaming cards are not supported to keep Quadro relevant (money) or is there any specific reason?

Is the P2200 Quadro card worth it over the P1000 for this?

I want to buy ASUS ZenBook Flip 14 UX463FL, is it compatible
and powerful enough to run SOLIDWORKS 2020?
Specially it’s GPU which is Nvidia MX250 Pascal OpenGL v4.6 with 2Gb GDDR5
    graphic memory.
my budget is limited to this choice.

  18. Bhavyam Parashar on June 17, 2021 at 1:29 am

I want a laptop for CAD work, and 3D rendering. Shall I go for a laptop with Quadro GPU or with a GeForce? Budget is 2,200 USDs.

  19. thecrazyloser7 on June 17, 2021 at 1:29 am

So AMD does not work??? 🙁 Like Ryzen 7 3700x?

  20. Thegoodboi27 on June 17, 2021 at 1:29 am

Some things that may be a bit newer than this video. AMD 5000 series does have better ipc performance, meaning better single threaded performance, as well as cpus with more cores (if you can buy any of the new chips). Not to mention, zen 2 (3000) and zen 3 (5000) AMD cpus support ecc memory if your motherboard as well supports it. That way you wont have buy an expensive xeon processor for ecc ability. Not to mention, gaming GPU’s and work GPU’s are only different in their drivers and quality. The nvidia quadros and amd wx pros are picked for the best silicon and refined drivers, that way the card is less likely to crash and works more smoothly. If you have a low budget and are doing light applications, then you could probably save money buying a "gaming" card as long as it has the right amount of memory or cores. The computer market is constantly changing so it’s important to check for new products and research what is perfect for you.

    Blink damn you!

  24. Luke Mx on June 17, 2021 at 1:33 am

Mobile chips are still not as powerful as their desktop counterparts. Mobile CPUs may have similar spec on paper however due to poor cooling they will thermothrottle and there is no way to keep max frequency for long. Another problem I have with your recommendation is stating that gaming GPU will cause issues with SW. This is simply untrue. Yes, gaming cards are not supported but they will be fine. They may not perform as well as their Quadro sisters, however as a lot of us do not have space for two machines, one for work/for entertainment, getting a high end gaming card will give you enough juice for quite complex assemblies. However if you stated that we need Xeon/Quadro for work, I would have not said anything as this makes sense, i.e. better stability (on paper). But recommending consumer grade CPU and professional GPU makes little sense, sorry. Talking from experience, I worked with Creo, Inventor, SW, ANSYS, Plant3D, Navisworks Manage. Bear in mind this is just an opinion :).

  28. Raymond Victorio Fabian on June 17, 2021 at 1:35 am

Could I run it with an i5 & 16 GBs of RAM? My homework is just basic part modeling exercises from the textbook for the most part.

  35. Bas van den Boogaard on June 17, 2021 at 1:42 am

Hello, I have a question. I have a computer with:
    CPU – Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz 4.00GHz
    RAM – 32 GB
    GPU – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
    Disk 0 – Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB
    Disk 1 – HDD 1TB
Ran SW2018 first, speed was good no problems. Now I rebooted my hole computer and downloaded SW2019, and it is super slow. Any idea what could cause this? I think my PC isn’t a problem, because it was good before.

  36. Wasil Ali on June 17, 2021 at 1:42 am

    my laptop specs are:

why you people are misleading people about computer hardware seriously this is called scamming a 500$ pc can run solidworks to the max

  40. OwenWithAHammer on June 17, 2021 at 1:50 am

Just an update, as of a few weeks ago, the AMD 5600x, 5800x, 5900x and 5950x CPUs have the fastest single core performance on the market. Intel was faster when this video was made and they will likely come back again one day, but AMDs newest CPUs are both the best possible option and the best value option.

Also, while professional businesses should have Quadros, as a student or part time/hobbyist CAD designer you’re far better off getting a GTX/RTX card than a Quadro. The only feature you’ll miss out on is "trueview", which isn’t very useful for students.

  41. Niels Lantinga on June 17, 2021 at 1:50 am

Is a nvidea geforce gtx 1650 with 4 gb of videocard memory good for design and rendering? It also has a i5 9th gen. 16 gb ram.

  42. Lol Kenny on June 17, 2021 at 1:56 am

Man tell you get a quadro like we that rich get an amd card Vega 580 or more if your poor like me
