The Best Office Chair Tier List

The Best Office Chair Tier List

I’ve tested a lot of office chairs, and while comfort is very subjective, I do think some chairs are better than others. So here’s my tier list of what I personally think are the best office chairs for the home office. But I wouldn’t take these rankings too seriously, as “lower” tier chairs can still be great and “higher” tier chairs don’t guarantee a better experience.

Your content is good. But I can’t enjoy your soft voice tone like ASMR and sleeptalking. I have to pay extra attention effort to listen. People come for the content of the video. Especially this video has nothing meaningful visually. All the useful information is on the voice explanation. And your background music is good but it overwhelmed your voice because of your tone.
I want to thumb down for the harsh listening. But I try not to discourage you because of this. I hope you will make better video for the future. Cheers!

I’m against gaming chairs. Not at all comfortable as most office chairs, if not all. And It doesn’t help with your gaming!

Please try an Interstuhl chair! I would love to hear your opinion on the VINTAGE for example. For gaming chairs try the Backforce One or One Plus, but I am not sure if they are available in your country as of now…

I’m very disappointed with the steelcase leap. I can’t figure out how to make it comfortable.

  10. María-José Parga on December 4, 2021 at 12:26 pm

Great video! I do cross my legs a lot as well and I always need some kind of support for my legs/feet. I feel uncomfortable with EVERY chair ever. Maybe I need a custom made office chair

  11. Derek Nelson on December 4, 2021 at 12:27 pm

great video! Although as someone who’s be using the autonomous Kinn chair for awhile now, I’m gonna have to hard disagree about it being E tier, as It’s been an extremely comfortable chair to use, although I will say it took about two weeks of constant use and fiddling with the adjustments until the seat actually started feeling comfortable for longer time periods, but now it’s hand down one of the best office chairs i’ve sat in and I can easily go a full day without it hurting. I think a big part of it was just my bad posture, and that’s why it was uncomfortable for a bit. I would probably give it a B or C, because while I feel the back has plenty of support as i’ve had no back issues from it, I think the seat will just be either a hit or miss for people, since it is much more firm, and with the new much higher price, it’s definitely not worth it. got mine when it was like $400.

I just bought a Volvo S60 passenger seat at the local scrap yard for 20 bucks and put it on the base of my old office chair. Best decision I made. Real leather, real lumbar support… I even can wire up the heating part if I want to 🙂

  13. Karocat on December 4, 2021 at 12:29 pm

Why are office chairs so expensive i’m still trying to get it lol 🙁 at least here in my country… even the second hand uncomfortable ones cost $100

  14. David Akiva on December 4, 2021 at 12:31 pm

  17. Montaz Meah II on December 4, 2021 at 12:33 pm

  18. Gamex996 on December 4, 2021 at 12:34 pm

I tested like 60 chairs couple of days ago, I feel like price doesn’t matter I found 100$ really comfortable but missing some features I like, and 600$ ones really uncomfortable, settled on generic 400$ from furniture store

All of those office chairs look like a no bueno to me, especially IKEA. I would never buy any IKEA products.

  23. Chiahsuan Tsauo on December 4, 2021 at 12:42 pm

No S tier because when everyone contemplates being productive who wants to stand when you can sit? who wants to sit when you can lie flat? Who wants to work when you can sleep?

  24. Tom Z on December 4, 2021 at 12:46 pm

You could’ve just said $1000+ good chairs and saved 7 minutes.

I´m currently sitting on a piece of unbalanced log for home office, so I guess the lowest ranked chair of your list would be like heaven to my left butt that´s already killing me

  37. David Zhang on December 4, 2021 at 12:57 pm

Do you agree with my list? What is your favorite chair?

  46. Frogturtle xd on December 4, 2021 at 1:10 pm

I got a fully loaded Aeron Remastered with the Atlas headrest and I love it. The restrictive position should really only bother people who want to fold both of their legs In the chair which is understandable, but not an issue I have personally. It’s an A tier chair for me easily, but I understand why some would place it lower. Thanks for the vid.

  47. Andy Bdl on December 4, 2021 at 1:13 pm

Any update for the best chair?

  48. Luciano Martinez on December 4, 2021 at 1:14 pm

is leap v1 close enough to the v2?

  50. Sample Text on December 4, 2021 at 1:16 pm

When I went office chair shopping a while back, I went to buy the most comfortable chair they had regardless of price. If I had to spend a thousand dollars to get a good chair I would have.

Surprisingly, there was a negative correlation between price and comfort (at least in the chairs this particular store had on offer). The best chair I found in terms of comfort was the stores second cheapest at only $150 (don’t hate on me, but it was a gaming chair, but in all black at least). The more expensive chairs tended to have more adjustments but they didn’t feel any better than the cheaper chairs no matter how I adjusted them.

I think when it comes to chair shopping, it’s always a good idea to try before you buy
