What happened to the Golden medium between thin-and-lights and THICC heavy gaming laptops? You know, the ones that are a little over half an inch thick with full sized ethernet jacks without feeling like chonky beasts from the early 2000s. the thin-and-light craze is driving me nuts, cool to look at in a show room and it has its place, but doesn’t mean stop making designs just thick enough to have a ethernet jack , plus more room for cooling. ( more preformance without feeling super big. So the form factor of the 2011 macbook pro would be what I find perfect for me.

Hi PCMag, and Gadget geeks out there, need your valuable suggestions over buying a laptop, since I’m not well versed in technical aspects . Here are my requirements: (cost is a major concern)

    – should be able to run Ms office or Libre

    – should be able to download and run R, SQL, python, tableau

    – good speed when using web.

    Recommend a brand for everybody:WiWU

This brand has been working offline for 10 years. Its products are not only well designed, but also of higher quality than your expect.

The current products including a full range of iPad accessories, such as paper film, stylus pen, protective cases and USB-C docking stations.

Phone accessories, such as mobile phone case, tempered film, fast charging cable, charger, etc.

There are other products that are more appreciated, friends in need can follow and search WiWU.

I’m looking into buying a new laptop for work/school. I’m stuck between Dell and hp. I’ve heard a lot of negative things about Dell inspron trackpad. I’m pushing towards an HP. my two previous laptops were both HP and i was satisfied with them. also don’t want to spend over $1250 for a new laptop. any suggestions?

If u want a medium end laptop, just buy Acer Predator Nitro 5, I also bought it for in need of medium end laptop rn, and I didn’t regret it.

Just bought 2 it was a tough process. Wanted a 2 and 1 flip, and, wanted an LTE mobile. DIDN’T WANT ANYTHING INTEL. HAD A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE LAST TIME I BOUGHT INTEL. NEVER AGAIN IN LIFE. Ended up getting them both for $1200s total. Do your homework there deals out there. Got the Samsung Book S ARM which I love. And, the Lenovo Flex 5 14 AMD which I also love. Was only shopping for 1 computer. Stuck with the A list.

    LISTEN UP!!!
The HP Omen 15 is the worst gaming laptop I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned 7 of them, from age 26-43.
    1. Frame rate stutters, even when dialed down and nothing graphically intensive is happening.
    2. Fans sound like a jet engines at the best of times, to the point it’s embarrassing in public.
    3. Vents and top (when closed) allow for anything to get into it. (Dirt, dust and any other debris.
    4. It turns on all by itself, (this is common somehow?)
    I absolutely hate this thing!

Need help with finding a laptop. Going to use it for app and game development so it needs to have a good gpu, and a good cooling system. It needs to be sturdy and have an extra SSD expandable slot because I plan on dualbooting Linux. I don’t care much about about the thickness or size, nor about the keyboard or weight.

    Any suggestions? Much appreciated

I want one that doesn’t lag, browse fast, can use for word, large memory capacity, suitable for student, online study, for young children that likes to watch videos on YouTube, can be use as an office laptop and just durable..something that would not make me feel like it’s a rip off cause it’s stop working after just few years. $1700Aud in budget. Please can someone recommend me one.
