hi great review…i am still having a hard time trying to choose one of these TV’s ….Q90T in 85 inch and the LG CX in 77 inch…i am not a gamer at all…will be for movies / sports / and regular TV programs ( CNN , weather channel , HBO , etc. )…..have the Panasonic 820 4K player to hook up….room is medium light…size of room is 14 x 22 ft…will be sitting 9 to 10 feet from TV…….. Is Dolby Vision that important or does the HDR10 and HDR10+ just as good ?……..VillaMan what are your thoughts ? and anyone else i would appreciate your guidance…..cheers from Canada….be safe all ( wrote these questions before i watched the video…duuhhh..lol ) still would like advice from anyone

Hi Villa-Man – great video. I have an LG OLED (55”) for my bedroom but now considering a larger 65” set for downstairs room. Currently have a 5 year old 55” Samsung & it’s ok but looking to get a more immersive experience with the 65”. Considering a 65” OLED and I’m not a gamer. Strictly regular channels from cable box and apps such as Netflix, Amazon & Hulu. Usually watch in evenings in dark conditions. So considering 1) the Sony A8H, 2) LG CX or maybe that Visio ? I’m pretty sure they’re all great sets but not sure the Sony is worth the extra $$ over the other two? Thanks for your comparisons.

Wow. How haven’t I found your channel. We are right in line. I have the R635 and an LG OLED. May exchange the R635 for the Q80T. Comes out ti a $300 difference with my Samsung discount. Think it’s worth it? Turned off Samsung has no Dolby Vision.

  17. Ye-ROC Hawkins on August 12, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Why are you claiming the A8H has some special anti reflective coating on it, when it clearly doesn’t, and has the same reflection handling as the rest of the OLEDs…CX & Vizio H1? They are all using the same panel manufactured by LG Display, and are identical.

Also, the CX definitely has better motion handling than the Vizio, no doubt. Both with and without MCFI. I know you didn’t say it didn’t, but you made no mention of the Vizio’s clear issues with motion too. I know you found artifacts on the tickers on the S&M test disc on your CX…more so than when you compared it to the Vizio, but this could be due to the settings you were using, and is also not quite indicative of real would content. I don’t see the massive issues you demonstrated. Also, there is not a MCFI algorithm out there, that doesn’t produce some type of artifacts. You can mitigate the extent of them, with the right custom setting, or say using the Cinema Clear setting on the CX…which is the best out of the box motion setting….but idc what TV it is, there will always be artifacts or micro stuttering to some degree, as it’s an algorithm, and is basically guess work, that is not precise and 100% accurate. Even the A8H has artifacts with MCFI. There is still a lot of room for improvement for all brands when it comes to MCFI algorithms. That’s why purists…prefer to watch cinematic content at the intended 24p frame rate via 5:5 or 4:4 pull down, bc there is no artifacts and SOE. Sony is using 4:4 pull down for 24p content, which does give it slightly smoother motion presentation with 24p content, compared to the 5:5 pull down on the CX. I personally don’t mind MCFI with non 24p content, and truthfully, I personally have no noticeable issues with motion artifacts with the right setting on my CX, with sports. Honestly I recommend…again, the Cinema clear setting is the best out of the box preset if you want to use MCFI. It is adaptive to different content, and is kinda a set and forget setting, with very limited issues. I’m hard pressed to find any. Another good option is to use de-blur at 10, and dejudder a 0. De-blur only effects 30/60p content, and boost motion resolution to 650 lines, and introduces very little artifacts or issues.

Use transition glasses and there’s no difference between qled and oled.

Is the lg 65 un8100 good for 4k as that’s what I have for a budget 4k tv

  23. Mjfadeaway96 on August 12, 2021 at 10:27 pm

How bad is the input lag on the a8h? I hear if you disable sound mode sync it helps have you already done that? Does it feel much different then the cx at 4k 60?

  24. fistn chickz on August 12, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    Q950TS 65 Samsung it’s FUCKING great I luv it so much gaming /movies !!!!

  25. Eugene Barretto on August 12, 2021 at 10:30 pm

Stuck between Samsung q90t or lg bx.. my room can either be dark or bright, the TV would be in the basement. It will be mostly used for gaming such as NBA 2k and I play it for hours mostly. I also watch a lot of nba basketball and some YouTube videos. Which would you prefer, Samsung q90t, lg bx or lg cx?

  26. Edu Vivan on August 12, 2021 at 10:32 pm

Picture quality and motion wise, you recommend more the x900h or q80t?

  27. fixer upper on August 12, 2021 at 10:33 pm

I bought a 75inch Q90t, had it for two weeks and sent it back. Everybody’s saying it’s so great but that was not my experience.

Just ordered my first OLED for PC gaming. LG 48CX. I cannot wait to see this thing in action. Should be an awesome upgrade over my old 27" 1440p IPS display.

  31. Izzy on August 12, 2021 at 10:41 pm

As with most review videos, since it is about TVs, it would be nice if the narrator is not seen on the screen but instead the TVs are shown close-up side by side with long series scenes to give the viewer first hand experience in what it would look like instead of just talking about it. I realize it is not the same as viewing it in person but you still get an idea of the differences when ‘seeing it’ ourselves. Seeing is believing.

  32. James on August 12, 2021 at 10:43 pm

What TV do you have and what TV do all around use when it comes to gaming movies bright Room and Dark rooms what’s that one television that does it all

  34. Aaron Roydhouse on August 12, 2021 at 10:46 pm

8:14 sadly it may be Sony X900H/X90H will no longer get an update for VRR or ALLM, which would stink.

Thanks a lot for your review. What about Sony x950h? Also if I wanna buy 49 inch non oled TV what would you recommend? Samsung q80t or Sony x950h? Thanks and happy Thanksgiving!

  36. John Kim on August 12, 2021 at 10:46 pm

I bought the Vizio OLED 55 inch for $899. Do you think I made a good choice?

  37. John Tesoriero on August 12, 2021 at 10:48 pm

The Villa man! Oled or LCD? perfect!

  38. Jorge Rodriguez on August 12, 2021 at 10:48 pm

Hi. I was planning to buy a 43 inch Samsung Class Q60T but I see people reviewing this as a bad TV compared with the older models. I don’t do games. Have you reviewed this TV yet? Please let me know. Thanks.

  39. D. Jones on August 12, 2021 at 10:49 pm

Just replaced 65 TCL R635 with a 65 Sony 900h (brighter room, gaming) because the TCL was flickering, sound was going out, and TV would randomly reset itself mid movie. 1) Anyone else have similar issues?
But I really enjoyed the TCL and was thinking of getting 55 R635 for my bedroom (darker room, secondary gaming TV) and hoping that I just had a bad first experience and set. But being that my first TCL was defective 2) should I try other options like the H9G or Vizio P? Suggestions?

  40. Thomas Vanopstal on August 12, 2021 at 10:51 pm

I can’t decide between the LG CX and Q90t. Will be used purely for netflix and next-gen gaming. I really like the LG because of OLED, 4x HDMI 2.1 … but in my room, it will be directly facing a window. Of course, I can close the curtains, but it’s not ideal. Samsung may be better against reflection but with only 1 HDMI 2.1port … Which one would you pick? Both are the same price right now.

  41. Zihao Xu on August 12, 2021 at 10:52 pm

Your video is great! I love that I can watch the hdr difference through my phone. Your tv review is what I really want to see instead of just a bunch of numbers.
I hope you can help me choose between Vizio PQ (not x), and TCL 635. The 65” for both are all at $899 which I think are pretty good. I will be mostly using Apple TV box, and also switch and next gen console when I can find it. My apartment have no direct sunlight, but I prefer to watch tv with light on. I’m currently leaning towards Vizio because it was sold by Costco and TCL have panel lottery rumor. What do you think?

  42. Justin N on August 12, 2021 at 10:54 pm

Bought H9G and intending on using it with the PS5. My plan is to get an actual HDMI 2.1 tv a few years from now when all the bugs have been fixed and when the PS5 supports VRR

  43. BoricuaBoy88 on August 12, 2021 at 10:55 pm

I wouldn’t be caught dead gaming on an OLED.
Waiting for Vizio, TCL, and Hisense to fix their blooming issues with newer display tech before upgrading. I’m in the market for future-proofing, so HDMI 2.1 full bandwidth with all the perks are a must.

  44. Sam Shalati on August 12, 2021 at 10:55 pm

I have a 65" LG OLED from 2016 and I love it, but now I need another TV for a different room.

I’m looking at the 77" LG CX OLED or the 86" Samsung Q90T QLED. Both are the same price, but one is bigger and the other has better picture quality.

I do some gaming (PC and PS5) and lighting is controllable, no direct sunlight. Will sit about 10 ft away. Any recommendations?

  45. fliboimoney on August 12, 2021 at 10:56 pm

Does the Sony A8H have a screen protector on screen out of Box?

Best TV for for future proof.

  48. Mohammed Al Hassan on August 12, 2021 at 10:58 pm

I am confused between the LG CX and the Sony A8H , i watch the tv more for sport ( football match’s- Formula 1 ) with little of Netflix and gaming..

  49. King Killa on August 12, 2021 at 10:58 pm

Do you think Samsung will add Dolby vision in a firmware update somewhere down the line since consoles and most streaming services run with Dolby vision

  50. Guillermo Banos Flores on August 12, 2021 at 11:00 pm

What about the 2020 Vizio M7 Quantum as a budget option for gaming?
