Sony CFD-S70 CD Radio Cassette Recorder Boombox Review
Sony CFD-S70 CD Radio Cassette Recorder Boombox Review
Here’s a boombox that you can easily find and is inexpensive. Let’s see how it performs.
Check out my review of the Victrola 80s Style Boombox:

Can someone help me find the repeat button on CD player
It’s a good review, but one thing I do agree is that "it’s not made by SONY", this can be misleading for some customer who are planning to buy this. Here is a link below where is show up in the SONY’s official site.

Imma need to go to my grandpas house for this trick
Did this model replace CFDS-50? And does it eat the tapes?
That’ s not A boombox , tiny speakers and sound is not very good , reception is amazing on FM , we can listen stations outside our country , AM also good ..I like for AUX IN
hi! i have this same player and when i play a CD you can kind of hear the CD spinning in the backround and making kind of a noise, if you put on a CD and turn the volume all the way down would you say you hear the disc spinning in the backround too? thanks!
I just purchased one of these from Amazon and this video was very helpful; thank you.
Thanks, for showing how to set the pre-set, I knew it would be easy, just fining how. Why do you think that most stores have stop selling cassette pack taps, in their stores, but still can buy them in line. Thank again.
show the bck of the damn thing
I wish they put a knob for tuning and volume
Is there a certain brand of mic that I can get to plug into the audio in that will work??
Do this Boombox have the loop around feature? Where you can set it to play a CD 24/7?
How is the recording quality on cassette using a digital input through aux?
can you record music from your laptop to the tape in the boombox?
I have this very model and I have rarely used it. I took it out to listen to an audio book and it wonβt read the CD. I have tried several different CDs. It wonβt read any thing. I even cleaned the lense. What could be wrong with it?
Hey Brett, can you record from cd to cassette on this? π
can you record cassettes from the aux in function? Like if I have a song playing on my phone, can I record that onto the cassette?
Does it run on 230V AC ?
Came for the cassette feature
Thank you for this great review, but I need to record my old cassettes on a CD Is this possible here or not
There is only 1 or 2 music Chanelβs on am radio most are talk channels now itβs very hard to find a good radio that can get am radio the best ones these days are the surround sound recovers there are a few afters not money all the music channels was moved to fm radio from am in the late 70s or early 80s I a, in my 20s but I like older Music o listen to xm radio but like my cassettes and records and all my analog stuff stil am sometimes will listen to am radio not very often
Bla bla bla just get to the part on how you set it up
That Disney CD sounded pretty or in my case good enough.
Can I change the cassette to mp3 format or CD format? Using any aux accessory?
Can you play any cassette on this
Thanks a bunch! I lost my manual. Rock on!
I have a CFD S50. The CD player became problematic after 2 years. Finally it gave out altogether. NO DISC. Cassette and radio still okay.
Haha i literally just bought this xD
Only to record onto Cassette tapes.
Cuz my 2006 mustang only has a Cassette player.
This Sony Radio sounds Really Crappie
Hi, does this boombox record the CD audio onto the cassette?
Thanks, this helped me make my decision on buying this.
Mine stopped working dono why i just connect the ac cord but no light on the power button
This Reminds me: I still do I still own lots and lots of Music CD’S from the 90’s and 2000’s from when I was Growing up as a Child I remember my Dad got me my 1st Portable CD Player I think in 2002 (when I was 4) I got hooked to it ever since I still use one of those to this Day and I’m still Attached to it almost 2 Decades Later since I don’t care about Downloading Music on my Phone I had my Spotify for a Year and then I Canceled it Months Ago because I went back to using a Portable CD Player I think that’s a better option since I’m Super Attached to it every time I get CD’s from Amazon and from Thrift Stores I always Copy them in the Original Xbox Hard Drive and turn them into Custom Soundtracks and sit back and Listen to them I Currently have 67 Soundtracks on my Xbox so yeah I still Listen to Music CDs almost 20 Years Later since 2020 is right Around the Corner I’m going back to the Old School
Great review. How about recording from CD to a cassette and the quality? Unfortunately there are almost no new units except this Sony model and one Panasonic…
Thank you for the review. It was very informative. I am glad that there are still boomboxes with cds and cassettes.
I thought cassettes were dead and gone. I bought one thinking my kids and I might have fun with a mic and recording ourselves. But, apparently one cannot record themself. Have you found a ‘work around’ for this BIG PROBLEM?! No external place to plug one in and no internal mic. Big disappointment. Thanks.
How do you make the whole CD automatically play over again?
I love my CFD-S70 boombox. I bought it at Walmart on my last payday. I love to listen to all my CDs, and AM/FM Radio on it. I have 5 audio tapes that my stepfather gave to me. I already listened to ACDC’s Highway To Hell on it. This boombox rocks!
You put in a lot of effort to sell that CD. Not sure why though.
Thank you for your review. Did you try recording onto a cassette from a CD or from the aux input?
Pain in the neck. No remote control.
