Mobile networks are calling their 4g networks with a slight upgrade "5g" to entice new users. Multiple cell phone companies have got in trouble for it but i think in the end they are still doing it

Would 5g have a strong impact on the quality and lags of the image transmission?
T-Mobile’s 5G Uses 600 MHz and 2500 MHz for longer distances. They also use the shorter distance millimeter wave stuff, but mainly in the denser urban areas.
Wouldn’t work that well in Ukraine with all of the infrastructure damage. There likely isn’t enough working relay towers for it to work. I agree with the other commenters that you are just using clickbait and exploiting a tragic situation for financial gain.

Just fyi, there are RTF RC airplanes you can strap a gopro on, that can do 100km+ with no solar and no 4G necessary (via GPS waypoint missions). These planes are not only cheaper but infinitely easier to build.
Well you know full well that the gubmit don’t want you having unlimited range via cell network, that’s why they discontinued making the plane.
So how do you get lte out there literally everywhere?

The government doesn’t want Americans catching them doing their dirty business fro the air. It’s not about safety at all. It’s about control and deception. They want to know exactly where your drone is, but we don’t get to know where their drones are. So what do they do? They make everybody suffer right down to the little kid who’s is just trying to learn FPV to the family man who wants to document his vacation or survey his own property. Anything can be used for bad behavior, but drones are not a dangerous. crooked Politicians and Bureaucrats are.
Fun story… I used to work for the company that makes the cell signal booster. When they were designing that particular model, I told one of the engineers in passing that I was going to be road tripping across the country. He then gave me a prototype of it and asked if I’d install it in my car and gather some data for them during my trip. It worked great except for a couple hiccups. Anyway, they took my data and made a few tweaks for the final product and then let me keep the prototype. I still have it and use it today.
