Slide and hide Neff oven is very popular and we sell very many.
However, the feedback about them is quite mixed. In this video, The Kitchen design experts talk about the pros and cons of the slide and hide oven so that you can make your own mind up.
If you don’t know what a slide and hide oven is, you may have seen The Neff hide and slide oven on the Great British bake off.
It is a single oven and this video is just discussing the virtues of the slide and hide oven door – not the Neff oven itself.

This channel blows my mind. I didn’t even know kitchen’s had some of these awesome features.😲😲 That oven and kitchen is beautifull. My oven is 13 years old and not practical. from watching this I can see why people would opt for this.
    Great video 😊

Do a wide range of ovens come with the telescopic shelf as seen in this video?

Great oven, we have a small narrow kitchen and it’s ideal.
Last Neff oven lasted 17 years, almost faultless so no hesitation in buying another Neff

Brilliant review bought two b57cr23n0b ovens and the t48td7bn2 hob last night. Iam a kitchen fitter of 23 years and know neff appliances are hard to beat

I get what you say about mess on the floor. But for people going from a stand alone cooker/ oven where the door opens left to right it kind of means nothing. Great to hear about the telescopic shelf though.

I am looking to buy a slide and hide oven, because.  Most oven ‘down-doors’ have very sharp corners which can be hazardous to legs.  I knocked my leg against an oven corner resulting in an ulcer which took a nightmare 7 months to heal!

Do you have a slide and hide oven? What do you think of it?

  8. Philip Bessant on June 19, 2021 at 1:45 am

The solid shelf should be on the telescopic arms at the bottom of the oven and is designed that it locks when pulled half way out.
You place your cooking pot on the wire rack which also will lock if you pull it half way out.
You don’t cook on what is basically the drip tray.

Very dissappointed with the slide and hide door. It has a design fault as food, moisture, grease managed to get between the panes of glass and it is such a difficult job to get the door off. So much so we don’t and it looks awful.

    Thank you most useful.

A really important reason to have an oven door out of the way (either a hiding door or sideways opening door) is for people who are in WHEELCHAIRS or have MOBILITY problems. Good video, I never thought about the dripping issue.
