    Hey Jonah!
    Thanks for the awesome video!

I wanna connect an av receiver and a 4k projector (which play the video) through a HDMI 2.1 8k cable. As these cabels are directional (source and display ends), I was thinking whether I need to plug the source end to the projector and the display end to the receiver. This is important because sometiems I also wanna connect a playstation and projector. In that case I assume that the display end goes to the projector while the source end to the playstation. The HDMI cable will be wired to the wall so I should now whether I have to buy two HDMI cables in order to be able to plug both the display and source end to it.

    Your answer is highly appreciated!

    Good information

  8. Saso Najdoski on April 2, 2021 at 3:54 am

What the amplifier will give you will never receive from AV receiver so there is no comparison in case if you wanna listen nice quality hi-fi music it’s way better to listen to amplifier or stereo amplifier, hope that helps.
However thanks for taking the time for this video.

I have a Carver av705x 5 channel power amplifier and a Marantz av7005 pre-amp processor and that combination kicks the crap out of any receiver up to $5k the amp is 125 watts channel, all channels driven. I bought mine used and together they were $800 a lot less than a top of the line receiver.

  26. carlo trese on April 2, 2021 at 4:18 am

im just new in this things,. i have a question,. can i use my stereo amp as power amplifier for my AV receiver?

  27. Ilija Zafirov on April 2, 2021 at 4:20 am

how about mentioning (for the people interested), that despite all the fancy stuff in the AV receivers, they don’t output even nearly as much power as a dedicated audio amplifier, because the built in amplifiers are just not made for that, or in comparison, a sound system of an average AV receiver will sound similarly to those surround sound speakers which used to be sold with DVD players etc. that should be a more appropriate explanation, tyvm

  28. TUB XYOOJ on April 2, 2021 at 4:22 am

I like Amplifiers better then Receiver but is a real amp bumped subwoofer. Receiver is a heavy metal sound. But no mic hookup.

  29. boieax buot on April 2, 2021 at 4:22 am

What happens to your av receiver if you connect an amplifier to it.would it add punch to the speakers or what specifically would the amp do to the sound output?

  30. Still Reading Books on April 2, 2021 at 4:22 am

i’m thinking about switching from speakers to headphones, but i’m not sure if i still need speakers no matter what. i’m guessing speakers would be optional in that case but i’m a bit confused. Basically i have some old speakers and don’t know if i really want to use them anymore because they take up a lot of space. But the headphone jack on my receiver stopped working so i was thinking of replacing the receiver, which also takes up too much space as well.

  31. Timothy Sagely on April 2, 2021 at 4:23 am

  32. CH!CARCAS TERCERO on April 2, 2021 at 4:24 am

An amplifier receives the sound and a receiver amplifies the sound . 👍

  33. ECUGurl on April 2, 2021 at 4:25 am

I found speakers already in my home. What do I need to buy to use them?

  34. DJ Fooba on April 2, 2021 at 4:28 am

Does an A/V receiver pass audio through the HDMI cable to the TV?

  35. David Raimundo on April 2, 2021 at 4:30 am

What’s the benefit of an AVR + a power amplifier for front sound stage on home theater. I ask this because I struggle to get dynamic sound at lower levels. Should I pair my avr with separate amplification? Can I achieve this on 3 channels? LCR? I have a Denon x3700h With reference premier fronts

  36. Don Pearce on April 2, 2021 at 4:30 am

Now i know the difference. Thanks. Great Video

  37. Dale Fawver on April 2, 2021 at 4:30 am

Hey so i have a stereo system with numerous big 3 way kenwood speakers and one subwoofer. Its all connected to a stereo receiver and plugged into my tv with a aux cord. Would i get better sound more theater like with a AV receiver or is it the same

  38. J B on April 2, 2021 at 4:33 am

    I took a looked I say, so.
Why not as I was once 16 now 61.
I grab use to try then flip it.

  39. D Y on April 2, 2021 at 4:35 am

There is one more difference…AV receivers are more concentrated on video codecs which are recorded for watching movie effects ..but audio amplifiers are aimed for music which are more on listening instruments and …quaility of music listening in audio amplifiers will be better than AV receivers…So it’s personal Choice enjoyable watching movies with those movie audio effects e.g helicopter surround sound …Or full enjoyable music

How can use a Sony subwoofer with Samsung home theater? I just got them as presents and know nothing about it.

  41. SilentChaos15 on April 2, 2021 at 4:36 am

I remember having a stack with an amp, stereo receiver and a multidisc player. Good old days.

  42. AM2PM on April 2, 2021 at 4:38 am

What is a good 2 zone receiver. I have a house with two speakers outside and two in the master bedroom and 4 cables around the TV area. So I would assume it would be like a AV receiver I need with 5.1 for the TV and then you can switch it to another zone for another parts of the house.

  49. JxT1957 on April 2, 2021 at 4:46 am

i have a 1976 pioneer separate amp and tuner. the amplifier has volume, bass, treble ,balance etc.

  50. Frank Farago on April 2, 2021 at 4:46 am

Whatever. But I use a pair of these active 3-ways:
    https://www.thomannmusic.com/krk_rokit_rp10_3_g4.htm
Between the two, I have 2 x 3 = 6 Class-D amplifiers. All inside the speaker enclosure. So no — I do not need any additional amps for these active monitors.
