I’m watching this video because I research everything before making a decision. To the point of being static.

Superb. Candus is very thorough here on the differences between desktop and online. We’ve been using desktop for several years and then ran into the dreaded 14,500 max record limit which will stop QB desktop in its tracks. After painfully using a 3rd party app to regain space by archiving inactive customer records, we’re getting ready to convert to QB online.

Thank you Candace. I’m a Mac user, and currently use Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2019. I’ve been using a Mac desktop version since 2012. I’m a small business owner and don’t have a lot of requirements (mostly tracking expenses, income and running payroll), so I am considering moving to Online, primarily because of the ability to scan receipts and use OCR technology. None of the OCR Apps (DEXT Prepare/ReceiptBank, Neat, etc) seem to be compatible with QB Desktop for Mac.).

Question on a scenario: my husband and I both have qbox 30 day free trial…..We signed up for it to be able to both work on quickbooks at the same time. However, I don’t know how to make everything that I have entered into quickbooks transfer over to his computer. For example: let’s say I entered a new vendor, I want this information to show up on quickbooks on his end too. Can I transfer this information through qbox? If so, how??? btw we both have qbooks desktop.

    Hi,
    thanks for your video.
I understand the choice of preferences on how to choose, but what about the functionality?
I am providing services and products and I am not sure which option is the best in terms of functionality.
The most important elements for me are cost tracking for different projects, to make sure that I have a proper P&L on each project.
And how deep can it go in tracking the costs?
I like the cloud option, but I am not sure that it will give all these.

New GM at a small business who is using online, but I am thinking of switching them over to enterprise or desktop. 3-5 employees needing logins

Great overview- just what i was looking for. I have 2 LLCs and got a bit of sticker shock when I went in to set up the second LLC in simple start, 600 / year in year 2

Which year of desktop pro do you recommend? I’m seeing a lot of bad reviews for the 2021 version

I appreciated your video, thank you for a wonderful and clear presentation. I decided to go with the desktop version. I owned a business years ago and it’s what best suits me. I went onto Costco website and the "desktop" version is subscription based. What is that about? What is the difference if you are paying an annual subscription or online version (cloud) or subscription? Please help me understand. What happened to downloading and having it in your harddrive? It has been 10 years since I have used quickbooks.

why not to make Online version to have the same features as the desktop, why people have to choose between two??? it’s obvious, most companies need to have several people to be to access the same data and being able to access from different computers/locations, so having desktop one would be a pain. And we all have the internet! Unless you do accounts from some village deep in Amazon jungle.

Or give us both, desktop and online at the price of the desktop, if you can’t make online as good as the online one

Thank you for letting us know about canduskampfer.com/qbox. I am going to look into that. I have a home office and business office and want to view my desktop version.

I just bought an Inn! I have no clue what I’m doing. I have 8 rental rooms, two types of rooms, and we rent golf carts. There will be expansion. I need help. I don’t want to feel over my head anymore.

Good content. My only suggestion is to work on sound levels. I had to turn up to 75, other videos I’m around 25-30.

great overview. I have used desktop for quite some time, but need to upgrade. Have multiple companies and in the end I think I will end up using both online and desktop. One or two of the companies I work with would probably benefit from the accessibility of the online format, whereas the desktop seems to have more flexibility for what I want to do.

  15. Yvonne Jostes on January 18, 2022 at 4:58 pm

Thank you for clarifying, very helpful. I don’t want to loose my previous info if I choose to stop using QB. Plus I don’t want to have to name every gas station name to use bank feed. So I’ll be staying with desktop pro as long as intuit keeps it available.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the information.
How does the payroll work on QB desktop? Will it calculate tax deductions by itself and once we do the payroll what I am assuming is we would have to cut a check and pay the employee?

  17. Georgia Sciacca on January 18, 2022 at 5:02 pm

I prefer QB Desktop Accountant version.

  18. Angela Shockley on January 18, 2022 at 5:02 pm

Thank you for the video, very helpful. Desktop will definitely be for me. I will be checking out more of your videos. I use desktop at work but was not sure if online would be a better fit for my husband’s business.

  19. Karla Steck on January 18, 2022 at 5:04 pm

My daughter owns a company and I am retired, w/QB knowledge and I want to help her with data entry and reconciliations only. Can I log in to her QB account remotely to assist. She has Desktop Pro Payroll Enhanced.

  20. Cheryl on January 18, 2022 at 5:09 pm

Can you use QB Desktop with One Drive from different locations?

  21. GCoop on January 18, 2022 at 5:10 pm

I missed around with online and it to me is not as user friendly as the desktop. I am looking to purchase a desktop version but confused as to which one is best for a bookkeeping business. pro vs premier vs enterprise?? I don’t want to offer payroll services. Which one is best?
