This is a project we completed in Frisco, Texas. The system features 9 zones of distributed audio, 5.1 surround system in Family room, and 7.1 Dolby set up the media room. The cost of a system like this varies from 5K to 20K excluding the media room. Typically, the cost is $800-$1000 per room/zone in a prewired home with entry/mid level speakers and installation.

Sonos has certainly just created a bit of a minefield for installers such as yourself in the past 24 hours.
