For begginners into desktop pc, should also mention that there are prebuilds from established brands from dell, hp, lenovo etc. Many of these come with propietry parts that are a nightmare to upgrade. Main advantage of learning to assemble yourself is being confident of upgrading your own pc in the future. Many parts in the Pc are reusable, e.g ram, power supply, storage, case, fans and even cpu cooler. All these in itself will save one a lot of cash in the long run. I have 3 desktops in my house. One for myself, then when it is time to upgrade, my kids will inherit some of the older parts.

Nice video, but your music is too loud and your voice is kinda soft, it’s difficult to hear you. Good job though, keep it up.

informative vid! (Though i think the bgm could be a tad bit softer [only from the start to around 1:55] – anyone with me on this? or is it my ears are wonky lmao)

im rocking Aftershock prebuild sameday delivery. Prices not that bad, and if anything wrong with ur PC, they will fix it for you. So far i have good experience with them.

My personal experience close to 2 years back when I wanted a new PC was somewhat different. I roughly knew the specs I wanted. Looked at the listing on Aftershock and picked one which matched my expectations. I then attempted to build something similar using the pricelists for the shops in Sim Lim. The disparity was actually quite large and made me settle with Aftershock. In my mind, Aftershock pushes crazy volumes and have their unit prices at a very competitive rate. Maybe that was because I did not go to the shops to negotiate.. but that time spent is still costs to add. My own time costs money too. With all that factored in, it was even more expensive to go custom. (at least based for my mid tier specs)

I pay someone from Carousell to build for me

Could you do a price comparison between the two based on current market conditions? And also between different custom PC builders (not sure if this would offend them though)..

Nice to hear about this topic being talk about. Straightforward and right to the point. In like 5 or 15 years ahead, your point will still be valid. Unless mobile and console gaming is the new master race.
