I don’t think it’s to good to be true because the headset was definitely designed by oculus considering it has all the buttons in the same place and the controllers are pretty much the same
Awesome news! I’m hyped to see what the VR gear market shapes up to become. Maybe it needed the push from Facebook to really pass that breaking point into a new style of market completely focused towards VR.
Iam a playstation fan and xbox deserves vr but microsoft hates vr for some reason but i hope that xbox also gets vr

Decagear would be my go-to, but let’s be honest. We all know that either the Hardware will suck (cheap plastic, bad cameras or something like this) or the Software will be crappy (no native Support in Games, Tracking issues). Sadly it’s everytime like this…
I just don’t get it why companies (e.g. Facebook, HTC) don’t just want to sell the Hardware without any stupid enforcements in software/account-using.
HTC will be (again) expensive as f…. and just average in performance, I’m sure about that.
I still hope for a bypassed/rooted Quest 2.

Rec room just came to Xbox a VR game so I am hoping they are working on a vr headset
I imagine they put out some games in parts so they can get the games to consumers as fast as possible, just my guess. With all these Star Wars games for VR I wonder if one of the studios is working on a full scale open world game that may take years to develop so in the mean time we are getting these smaller games to wet the appetite, just a thought.

An index for the xbox will blow up the market if the price is right. Especially as xbox has access too pc gaming so if they can incorporate pcve into this as well that would be allsome and as its a partnership with valve could also have steam vr support.

i am very careful and mine is cracking now.
The facial cameras are neat but my fear is that companies will just start harvesting our “eye tracking” data to better target us with advertisements.
That future of VR advertisements combined with eye tracking really scares me and my job is IN advertising.
That being said, exciting to see some more possible competition fueling the industry and getting us that much closer to VR with console level graphics.

If it does come out for Xbox hopefully it does for Xbox one as well. Cause I have a Xbox One S so hopefully if it does it works for mine as well. Also something else that hints towards it I think is if you go to the Microsoft store on Xbox a game that is made for vr is on there. Could be a coincidence but maybe a hidden secret.

I still feel like the quest is a better option.. I’ll probably wait for quest 3.
I had my elite strap beak the same way. I believe that the compromise to the durability of the elite strap may be more pronounced with different head sizes and shapes. I noticed that the angles on the side brackets are awkward at certain points. Staying at these angles for extended periods definitely puts unnecessary stress on the plastic.
Recently Rec Room was released to Xbox, Rec room is a VR game, I would want this to be obvious, but we can never know with xbox

They got alot to prove if they are to compete against big VR giants. You Oculus with the wireless Quest for $300. You got the nice variety but rather iffy Windows mixed reality headsets set at a variety of prices.
Then you have Valve which is expensive but is undoubtedly the best Headset on the market. The controllers, picture quality, sound, tracking is unmatched.
They should make the headset compatible with previous xbox consoles like, the xbox one, one s, one x, and series s. That would be pretty cool!
I been calling this allll year that Microsoft is gona end up making this move! They are making the most BOSS moves for the last 2 years buying up 20+ studios and spending billions of dollars… Xbox Series X & PC are all the same family and we are all about to have an INSANEEE 2021 when it comes to gaming 💯💯
